Melissa kept up a light smile, playing with their hands a little. “Mm… are we still going to the park after school?”
Melissa kept up a light smile, playing with their hands a little. “Mm… are we still going to the park after school?”
"I thought you were going straight home and I was sticking around for baseball practice?" Lucas asked, confused. "I mean, we can go to the park after practice if you want, but I thought you wanted to go home…"
“Right, that’s what I meant. Sorry, I should have been more specific.” Melissa told him lightly, kissing his cheek. “But after practice, and you come home, can we go to the park with Cody?”
"Yeah, that's fine." Lucas returned the kiss, smiling lightly. "I think he'd like that. Should we bring him to the clearing this time?"
“Mm, I’d like to. Mostly for the fact I want to go.” Melissa laughed a little, bringing his hand up to kiss the back of it.
"Sounds good to me, darling." Lucas smiled a bit more and huddled closer to Melissa. "Should we eat dinner before we go?"
“Probably. Especially if neither of us have eaten lunch. I might just wait until you come home to eat anything.” Melissa mumbled, leaning in to him a little. “Am I allowed to do that, or do I have to eat before then?”
"I'd feel better if you had a snack, but I can't force you to do anything." Lucas sighed and closed his eyes.
Melissa gave him a light smile, reaching up to play with his hair once again. "No, but you can tell me what you want me to do. I'll try to eat a little something, later."
Lucas leaned into Melissa's hand, smiling softly. "Thanks, Mel… you'll text me when you do, right?"
Nodding a little, Melissa felt a smile pull up at his. "If you want me to, then I will."
"Sounds good, Mel." Lucas kissed Melissa gently. "I may not be able to reply, but I'll feel my phone buzzing."
"Mm, alright…" Melissa hummed softly, kissing him in return. "Should we go back inside? I'm sure classes are about to start."
"Yeah, probably… are you sure you're feeling up for it?" Lucas asked softly, ready to stand up if she said yes.
"Honestly, no. But I don't want either of us to miss class. I'll be fine, though." Melissa told him lightly, pulling back so he could stand up.
"Melissa, we can stay here as long as you need to. I don't mind being a bit late if it means that you go in feeling better."
Melissa sighed weakly, shaking her head a bit. "Lucas, I don't know when I'm going to feel better. We could be sitting out here for a couple of hours. We just need to get to class. I'll be fine."
"Are you sure, Mel?" Lucas asked, still seeming worried. "You'll come get me if you need me, right?"
"Mhmm, I promise. But right now, I really just want to get to class. I don't want to get stuck in detention right now." Melissa told him softly, pushing up off the steps.
"Alright, alright…" Lucas got up with a soft sigh, holding onto Melissa's hand. "Let's head inside, then."
Melissa gave him a soft look, reaching out for her bag. "Thanks for sitting with me… I really do love you."
"No problem… I love you too, Mel." Lucas hugged Ilya for a few seconds before walking inside with her.
Melissa smiled lightly, keeping a hold on his hand as they walked in. The halls were pretty empty, but there were still a few kids walking through trying to get to class. "I don't think you can walk me to my class. I'll see you after school, before practice, right?"
"Alright, Mel… see you then." Lucas kissed Melissa softly and let go of her to head off to his own class. He felt a tad lightheaded, but he could deal with that later.
Melissa watched him go with a light smile, slowly dropping it when he was out of eye sight. Sighing weakly, she started off on her own down the hall.
(Skipp??)
(Yep lol)
Lucas waited for Melissa at her locker after school ended, waiting for her to arrive. He fidgeted nervously with his baseball cap.
Melissa was walking alone, only glancing up periodically as she did. She looked tired with the little expression she was keeping up on her face. Even as she came up to her locker, and saw Lucas. "Hey…"
"Hey." Lucas stepped out of the way. "How was the rest of your day? They didn't give you too much trouble, did they?" He asked.
Melissa shook her head a little, pulling her locker open. She didn't say anything for a minute or so, just pulling out a couple of the books she had stacked in there. "I mean… I guess my day was fine. What about you?"
"I was fine… they didn't bother you again, did they?" Lucas asked worriedly. "I want you to tell me if they did…"
