Nodding a little, she let herself curl up close to him. It was nice, being able to stick so close to him. "Mm… are you carrying me into the house?"

"Sure. I'll have to have either you or your father open the door, though. I don't exactly have a free hand." Lucas stepped up onto the porch and approached the door.

Melissa gave him a soft smile, sitting up enough to reach the door knob. "I got it. Though if you'd rather set me down, you can." She told him lightly, pushing the door open.

"Nah, that's alright…" Lucas stepped into the house with Cody by his side and used his foot to close the door.

"Alright, I tried." Melissa shrugged a little, leaning back in to him. The house was oddly quiet, but Melissa didn't note on it.

(Waits for Melissa's father to stumble upon them lol)
"Do you want to go up to your room?" Lucas asked softly. "To sleep?"

(He's probably just laugh, and walk off lol)
"Mm… would you curl up with me?" Melissa mumbled, nuzzling closer to him. "Or are you not sleepy?"

(Lmao)
Lucas flushed a bit and looked away. "Um… I don't think your parents would be too keen on that, Mel…"

"I don't think my mom would like it. I doubt she'd like this either." Melissa pointed out, looking up to him with a smile.

"Probably not, but I'm not sure even your dad would be alright with it, Mel… I don't want to get you in trouble."

"It didn't seem to bug him when you had a concussion." Melissa offered, trying to change his mind. "If I get in trouble, I get in trouble. It's not the end of the world."

Lucas sighed softly. "Alright, alright…" He headed up the stairs with Melissa still in his arms. Cody followed after them, panting.

(Mmm… I'm gonna do it.)
Melissa smiled, kissing him softly as they headed up the stairs. "Love you~" She cooed a little as she curled up closer. With the sound of their voices, Mr. Brennahan had gotten up and started to pull his office door open. "Melissa, Lucas?"

(Lmao)
Lucas looked over in the direction of the door, flushing red and tightening his grip on Melissa. "Uh…"

Mr. Brennahan glanced over to the two, a look of surprise falling over his face. "Well then," He chuckled softly, a smile pulling up. "Don't tell me her legs stopped working." Melissa's own face was a soft pink, as she couldn't really do much with him holding on to her. "My legs work fine… I was just tired…"

"Yeah…" Lucas let go of the leash so that Cody could wander over to Mr. Brennahan to say hello. Lucas was still very flushed and not quite sure what to do.

Still smiling softly, Mr. Brennahan had knelt down next to Cody to scratch behind his ears. "That's very nice of you to carry her, I just wasn't expecting to see that." He hummed a little, glancing up to the two. "If you were going to do something, you can go back to that. I just wanted to make sure it was you guys."

"Erm… y-yes, sir…" Lucas flushed harder and hesitated before heading into Melissa's room to set her down gently on the bed.

Melissa glanced up at Lucas, giving him an apologetic look. "Sorry…" She whispered, kicking her shoes off before scooting back on her bed.

"It's fine, Mel… don't worry about it. I'm going to go get Cody." Lucas left the room and stepped out into the hallway.

As soon as Lucas had stepped out into the hall, Cody ran over to him with a bark. Standing on his back legs, he used his front to lean against Lucas.

Lucas smiled softly and picked up the puppy. He waved politely to Mr. Brennahan and headed back into Melissa's room.

Melissa smiled softly to Lucas, patting the spot next to her. "Come sit." She chirped, leaving a spot for him and Cody on the bed.

Lucas flopped down beside Melissa with Cody on his chest, smiling softly. He scratched behind the puppy's ears.

"Mm… You guys are cute." Melissa hummed, resting her head on his shoulder. "And nice to cuddle with…"

Lucas flushed again and rested his head against Melissa's, still smiling. "Thanks, Mel… you're pretty nifty yourself, if I'm being honest."

“Am I now?” Melissa smiled lightly, kissing him. “Well, I guess I should believe you. You said you were being honest, after all.”

"Mhmm~" Lucas returned the kiss and closed his eyes, relaxing. Cody settled down between them, yawning.

"Mm, I love you." Melissa whispered, giving a light smile. "I'm glad I could get you a puppy."

"Love you too." Lucas kissed Melissa again. "And I'm glad you did too, Mel."
