"Like a hug? Talking to you?" Phoenix asked softly, reaching out for her hand. Once he linked their fingers together, he pulled her hand up to his lips to kiss her softly. "I don't want to touch you, if that makes you uncomfortable."
"Like that," Cicada said in response implying it was the hand kiss. It was gentle, kind, and just so much a thing Phoenix would do. She ended up giving him a little smile, "Give, give me a moment and then we can go get ice cream?"
"Take all the time you need, Cicada." Phoenix told her softly, still holding on to her hand. He pulled up a smile when he saw hers, trying to stay gentle. "We can go get ice cream whenever. If you want to skip it tonight, we can just head back."
Her smile was small and held no confidence, but it was genuine and that's all that matter at the moment. Cicada thought for a moment before letting out another sigh, "No, I can handle ice cream tonight. It sounds pretty good right now anyways."
"Then we'll get ice cream tonight." Phoenix smiled as he stood, running a hand through his hair. "Whenever you're ready, we can head out. I'm gonna go grab a to-go box for the leftovers."
"Okay," Cicada told him still smiling and she started to hold himself. She let out a sigh and messed around with her own hair, "Be back quick and then we can get ice cream?"
"Of course, Cicada." Phoenix told her softly, leaning over to kiss her forehead. Giving her a soft smile, he started off to get a box. It only took him a couple of seconds before he was back to put the leftovers in. "I'm back~"
Cicada was taking deep breaths as he left and seemed to relax when he came back. She moved to stand up so they could just put the pizza in and leave, "I, uh, see that. Ready to go?"
"As long as you are." Phoenix smiled softly, putting an arm around her. Giving a little smile, he started to lead her out the door, still holding her close. "Any particular ice cream you want?"
"Chocolate, maybe mint chocolate," Cicada responded leaning up against Phoenix. She felt a lot better as she slowly got herself back to "normal." She kept in pace with him, "What about you?"
"Mm, mint chocolate sounds good. But I might get cotton candy, or something. We'll see." Phoenix hummed a little, resting his head against hers. It was nice to get to hold on to her. "It should be right around the corner, up there."
"That sounds good too. I'm glad it's nearby," Cicada commented as she kept walking. She let out a little sigh knowing that she might have to push him away sooner than later, but at the moment it was a nice reminder, "You're going to pay, aren't you?"
"I'd like to get to." Phoenix started, glancing down to her with a light smile. After a couple of seconds, he let out a sigh, still keeping his smile up. "But I can budge- just this once- to let you pay, if you want to."
"I, you can pay," Cicada responded after a moment or two. She figured that was the safer option of the two and smiled back up at him, "We agreed on it earlier right?"
"Yeah, but I don't mind if it'll make you feel better. If it doesn't, then I'll just pay." Phoenix told her lightly, kissing her head. Slowly he started to pull back and give her some space. "Whatever you want, I'm happy doing."
"And I want you to pay, please," Cicada responded with a smile before pulling herself back towards him. She wanted to be coddled at the moment if he was okay with it, "It'll make you feel better."
"Alright, alright. I was just making sure." Phoenix hummed, smiling softly when she pulled close to him. He took that as a sign she was okay with it. For now at least, he could stay close.
Cicada smiled softly back at him. She let out a little sigh as she stayed in Phoenix's half embrace before going to open the door once at the ice cream parlor, "After you sir."
"Why thank you, love." Phoenix hummed, stepping in before her. Holding a hand out to her, he smiled as he took in the scent of fresh waffle cones. The whole shop was flooded with the sweet scent.
The word love caused Cicada to freeze for a moment before she forced herself to relax. Afterward her smile grew at the sweet scents inside this shop. She took Phoenix's hand and let go of the door once it closed, "You're welcome.
Phoenix smiled softly as he led her over to the ice cream counter. "Now, get whatever you want. Price is no object while we're here." He told her softly, glancing over the different flavors with bright eyes.
Cicada looked over all the different flavors trying to decide which one to get. While she had come over here wanting chocolate mint but it was the strawberry that was catching her eye. She paused for a moment before looking at him, "Anything?"
"Anything at all. Whatever makes you happy." Phoenix told her softly, looking over the contents. Deciding on the cotton candy he had mentioned earlier, he put his focus on Cicada. "What's on your mind?"
"Double scoop strawberry and mint chocolate?" Cicada asked him her voice quiet and soft. She glanced at him and then back down at the floor before up back at him. She bit her lip a little, "Is that fine?"
"If that's what you want, then it's perfectly fine." Phoenix told her with a light smile. It was odd to see her like this, but he didn't note on it. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead, before speaking again. "You wanna grab a table?"
"Um, yeah I can do that," Cicada responded not bothering to pull away from him at this moment. She eventually did and gave him a little smile, "Can you make sure mine's in a waffle cone?"
"Of course, whatever you want." Phoenix nodded a little, starting up to the counter. When she had walked off, he ordered both of their ice creams, making sure Cicada had gotten a waffle cone. Once he had gotten both the cones, and paid, he smiled sweetly as he made his way over to her.
Cicada sat down and smiled at him when he began approaching. She was starting to feel a lot better and reached for the cone making a gimme motion, "Thank you darling."
Phoenix smiled, handing over her ice cream cone when he was close enough. "No problem, gorgeous. How's it taste?" He asked lightly, licking off his own cone when he had sat down.
“Mmmm it’s really good!” Cicada told him after she tried to lick off both flavors at once. She gave him a little smile, “Though the mint and the strawberry are fighting a little over which one gets to be dominant.”
