"No, it's fine. It doesn't bother me, Mel." Lucas smiled gently as he looked down at Melissa.
"No, it's fine. It doesn't bother me, Mel." Lucas smiled gently as he looked down at Melissa.
Melissa let out a soft sigh, before leaning into him. "Right, just checking." She hummed softly.
"Mhmm…" Lucas rested his head on Melissa's again, still holding her close. "What time do you want to get up?"
"I should probably get up in the next few minutes to wake my dad up. The coffee is probably sitting there, waiting." Melissa mumbled, not seeming to be very thrilled with the idea.
"Yeah… wouldn't want it to get cold or anything." Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and hummed thoughtfully.
"No, no we wouldn't. But I really don't want to get up. You're really nice to cuddle with." Melissa mumbled in a slight whine.
Lucas flushed a bit, his smile lingering. "Well, I'm glad. I think it's pretty nice. I'm not used to being able to cuddle with people. Claus wasn't a huge fan of me climbing into his bed when we were little." He laughed softly.
Melissa smiled before nuzzling her face into his shoulder. "That's what he gets for kicking your bunk." She hummed, voice muffled by the fabric of his shirt.
"Mhmm." Lucas gently kissed the top of Melissa's head. "I had a lot of nightmares as a kid too. I didn't want to go in my parents room because I was scared I'd make my dad mad, so I just climbed in with Claus. He… tolerated it. Sometimes."
"Mm, well if you feel like you need someone to hold you, feel free to come up to my room. I won't be annoyed by a need for cuddling." Melissa told him softly, returning his soft kiss.
Lucas smiled gently and rested his head against Melissa's again. "Thanks, Mel… hopefully I won't have to, but I may end up taking you up on that at some point."
Melissa smiled back softly, reaching out for his hand. "Good. I can always get by a little bit of cuddle time with you." She hummed lightly, running her thumb over his hand.
"Glad you enjoy it so much, darling. I'm always happy to oblige." He linked his fingers with Melissa's and relaxed.
Humming a bit, she lifted her head before kissing him. "Mm, that's probably one of the best things you've ever said…"
"Glad you approve." Lucas snickered a bit and returned the kiss, holding her close. "We should get up soon."
"Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing." Melissa hummed lightly, stretching her legs out over his lap. "Can we do this when we get to the clearing?"
"Of course, Melissa. We can cuddle all you want at the clearing." Lucas gently ran his thumb across Melissa's cheek.
Freezing up a little, it took her a couple of seconds before melting into his touch. "Mmm… yay~" Melissa purred lightly as a fond smile pulled up.
"I'm sorry, did I startle you? Did you not like that? I can stop." Lucas pulled his hand away, looking nervous.
"No- no, I liked it. I just wasn't expecting it." Melissa replied quickly, taking his hand and holding it to her cheek. "It's sweet, you don't have to stop."
Lucas nodded and seemed to relax a bit, gently stroking Melissa's cheek again. "I just don't wanna make you uncomfortable."
"Mm, well you're not. I promise you." Melissa hummed, relaxing into his touch with a light sigh.
"If you say so, Melissa…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's forehead and sighed. "We really do need to get up, though."
"But you're being lovey… I don't want you to stop…" Melissa pouted a little, pulling her legs back off of him.
"I can keep being lovey at the park, darling. I'm feeling pretty clingy at the moment." Lucas smiled gently.
Sighing softly, she nodded before standing. "Well, I'll go bring my parents coffee and tell my dad what we're doing today. Once I've done that, we can go to the park."
Lucas nodded and moved out of her way. "See you in a minute, Mel." He waved, still smiling.
Melissa smiled a little, waving back as she ducked into the kitchen. "See you in a minute." She chirped, pouring coffee into two mugs.
Lucas sighed and fidgeted a bit with his hands when Melissa left, ready to just wait for her to return.
After making her way up the stairs, she lightly knocked on the door. She couldn't exactly open it, and hoped her dad could. When a couple seconds went by, his friendly face replaced the door. "Hey, sweetheart. How are you this morning?" Mr. Brennahan asked lightly, glancing down to the mugs in her hands. "I'm alright! I brought you and mom coffee." Melissa chirped, holding them both up to him.
Laughing lightly, he took both the mugs and sipped from one. "Thank you, Melissa. But why so perky this morning?" He hummed lightly, turning to set the other coffee mug on the dresser by the door. "I dunno. But me and Lucas found someone who's adopting out dogs. We thought we could go out this afternoon, is that okay?" Melissa asked lightly, brushing a loose strand of hair out of her face. "I don't see why not. What time?"
Pausing for a second, Melissa tried to remember what Lucas had said. "Around three. Until then, can me and Lucas go down to the park?" She hummed, giving him a hopeful look. "Of course, Melissa. Just be back before we have to leave." Mr. Brennahan responded with a light smile. "Stay safe, and don't let Lucas get hurt again." He added on, starting to pull back into his room. "I'll do my best, love you." Melissa hummed, walking back down the stairs when he shut the door.
"We're all set." She told Lucas in a hum, glancing over to the couch.
