“Mm, good.” Melissa hummed, pulling back just a bit when she noted they were getting close. “Now, the school is right up ahead. I can’t believe we’re starting our Junior year. We’re going to be seniors soon…”
“Mm, good.” Melissa hummed, pulling back just a bit when she noted they were getting close. “Now, the school is right up ahead. I can’t believe we’re starting our Junior year. We’re going to be seniors soon…”
"Yeah… and then we can move out together when we graduate." Lucas grinned, tightening his hold on Melissa.
Glancing up at him, she smiled brightly. "You sure you won't be tired of me, by then? We'll probably have been living together for a year or so by that point."
"Course not, Mel. I could never get sick of you." Lucas ruffled Melissa's hair affectionately.
Melissa laughed, pulling back a bit. "Luuu~" She whined, not dropping the big grin on her face.
"Melllll~" Lucas laughed a bit and pulled his hand away. "You know you love it~"
"Mmm, I hate when you're right…" She mumbled, pouting playfully. "But I concur. I really do enjoy it."
"Aww, but you always get to be right. It's my turn." Lucas matched her pout
"I am not always right." Melissa insisted, pecking his lips. "You can think it, but it is not true."
"Feels like you're always right." Lucas returned the kiss and laughed. "But either way, we gotta go in so we're not late."
"Mm… can't we just skip it?" She asked, starting to pull back from him. "I mean, like, how important is education?"
"Pretty important if we wanna get jobs and have money for an apartment, therapy, and a dog." Lucas shrugged.
"Fineeee, but I would much rather spend my day in the clearing with you." Melissa mumbled, lacing their fingers together as she headed up to the busy school.
"Me too, but we gotta go to school. We can go to the clearing after school." Lucas smiled softly and walked in with Melissa.
Melissa glanced over at him, feeling the buzz of being around so many people again. "But you have practice, after school." She insisted, her relaxed smile growing a bit.
"Ah, right… after practice, then?" Lucas shrugged, leading Melissa through the crowd.
Smiling softly, she nodded a bit before giving him a last soft kiss. "Works for me." She hummed, letting him lead her on.
"I think we have our first class together, so that's good." Lucas checked his schedule and made his way towards the room.
Glancing at her own schedule, she nodded as she heard her name called. How she heard it above the chatter in the hallway, was quite incredible, but she had definitely heard something. "Did- did you hear that too?"
Lucas looked up, confused. "Yeah… who's calling you? Obviously it's not me."
"I dunno…" She mumbled, hearing the voice again from behind her. When she turned around, she saw a familiar face and smiled. "It's Laura," Melissa told him softly, pulling away to go greet her. "Hey! You feeling better?" Melissa asked as she was pulled into a hug. "Loads better, how about- oh, hey Lucas."
"Hi, Laura." Lucas stepped back a bit, not wanting to be in the way. He fidgeted awkwardly and kept quiet so Melissa and Laura could catch up.
Laura smiled, holding Melissa by the shoulders. "I don't have much time- the principal wants seniors to meet up before class. So, sit with you at lunch?" Laura asked, glancing up at the clock. "Oh, yeah sure. Me and Lucas will probably be outside." Melissa hummed, giving her a soft smile. "Awesome, then I'll see you then." Laura hummed, giving her another quick hug before she was off. "Well, that was fast… are you okay with her sitting with us at lunch?" Melissa asked softly, as she turned back to Lucas.
"Uh… sure, why not?" Lucas shrugged and took Melissa's hand again. "We really do need to get to class, though, so let's get going."
Nodding a bit, she held on to his hand with a smile. "Right, I trust you know where we're headed?" Melissa hummed.
"Of course I do. I'm fantastic with directions." Lucas laughed and kept leading Melissa along until they reached the room.
"I'm not going to agree or disagree with that statement." Melissa hummed, smiling softly as she pushed the door open. "We probably have to stop holding hands now… don't we?"
Lucas sighed quietly. "Yeah, probably…" He reluctantly let go of Melissa and pushed open the door.
Glancing around the class room, she noted some of the same faces she had seen many times before. "I feel like this is going to be so different… I have no idea why."
"It'll be different for me, definitely… wonder why it feels different for you?" Lucas hummed softly and sat down.
