"You not happy?" Melissa asked him softly, slipping her arms around his waist. "Because I thought it looked good."
"You not happy?" Melissa asked him softly, slipping her arms around his waist. "Because I thought it looked good."
"I dunno… I'm rarely happy with my drawings." Lucas sighed and leaned into Melissa.
"Well, I think you did me justice. It looks lovely to me." She whispered, nosing his cheek with a gentle smile. "You don't have to agree, but just know my opinion."
Lucas blushed a bit and nodded. "Alright, alright… should I head down to the couch now?"
Tightening her hold on him, she shook her head. "Nooo… I don't want you to go." Melissa pouted, burying her face into his shoulder.
"I know, Mel, but if I'm going to sleep, I gotta go downstairs." Lucas smiled softly.
Sighing weakly, she started to pull back. "Mm- you're using my want for you to be healthy against me." Melissa mumbled, sliding off of her bed.
"I'm not trying to, but I suppose it's helpful. I'll see you in the morning, milady." Lucas grabbed his things and waved as he headed downstairs.
Melissa watched him go, and hesitated as an idea came to her. Grabbing the quilt off her bed, and one of her pillows, she carried the bedding down stairs. "Lu?" She asked softly, coming up to him. "Would it bug you if I slept in here too?"
"Hmm?" Lucas looked up when Melissa came in. "No, you're welcome to be here if you want to." He smiled softly and grabbed a couple things out of his bag. "I'll be right back. I gotta change."
Melissa nodded with a soft smile, walking around and folding her quilt up to lie on. "Alright," She hummed sitting down on the floor. "I'll be here when you get back."
Lucas left and soon returned wearing sweats to sleep in. He shoved his other clothes in his bag and flopped down on the couch.
Melissa smiled softly, hugging her pillow tightly. "Mm, you ready for bed?" She hummed, rolling back onto her back.
"Mhmm." Lucas yawned and grabbed a blanket to huddle up in. "G'night, Mel…" He closed his eyes and sighed softly as he relaxed.
"Night, Lu." She whispered, pulling up a soft blanket and starting to nod off.
Lucas soon drifted off to sleep, tangled up in the blankets for warmth.
(Shall we skip? And if so, maybe up until school starts up?)
(Sure)
When the sun rose on Monday, Melissa was already up and getting ready for the day. Glancing over at her phone, she noted that it was just about six in the morning. "Mm… why does school start so early?" She asked herself in a mumble.
Lucas was already getting dressed and packed his baseball uniform to take to school. Of course they had to have practice on the first day. "You ready to go, Mel?" He asked.
Melissa glanced back at him, sighing weakly. "Well, yeah… but I don't want to." Melissa mumbled, giving him a gentle smile as she cleaned up her makeup. "I just have to grab my backpack."
"You'll manage, Mel." Lucas smiled softly as he watched her walk around. "You look nice today."
Picking up her bag, she smiled back at him. "Thanks. You look just as handsome as ever." Melissa hummed, tucking a loose strand from her bun back behind her ear.
Lucas flushed lightly and grinned. "Thanks, Mel. We should probably get going." He held out his hand to take hers.
"Yeah, we should." Melissa agreed, taking his hand with a smile. "We're gonna have to take the bus. Gabe should have already left for college, with mom going to work, and dad can't leave the house because he has a meeting." She hummed, pecking his cheek.
At the end of the week, Melissa's brother had come home from spending his last week off with one of his friends. Now that school had started back up, he was back at the house, mostly late at night.
"Or we could walk, theoretically." Lucas shrugged. "It's really not all that far. I mean, I used to always walk from my house and it's pretty far away."
"True… I mean, would you rather walk?" Melissa asked, twisting the lose strand around her finger.
"It doesn't really matter to me, though it would save money." Lucas hummed softly to himself as he looked around.
"I mean, sure. Walking would be better anyways." Melissa shrugged, leading him on out of her room, shutting the lights off as she did. "You don't have baseball today, right?"
"I do… trust coach to have practice on the first day." Lucas laughed weakly. "You're welcome to come watch if you want, but it's not usually too interesting.
