"Nope. Not too badly at least." Melissa hummed, kissing his cheek gently. "I probably wouldn't like flowers as much, if I was."
"Nope. Not too badly at least." Melissa hummed, kissing his cheek gently. "I probably wouldn't like flowers as much, if I was."
"Probably not." Lucas returned the soft kiss and kept walking. "I think you'll like it there, Mel."
"Do you? Honestly, I'll be happy as long as you're there." Melissa hummed, holding on to his hand tightly.
Lucas smiled gently. "I do. If you like flowers and the clearing, I'm sure you'll love it."
"I trust your opinion. And I quite believe that you're correct." Melissa hummed, noting that they were out of the park.
Lucas nodded a bit, continuing to walk down the sidewalk. "What's the plan for when we get back?"
“The plan? Well I didn’t really have one.” Melissa shrugged, knowing what they should probably do. “I just thought we’d get home first.”
"Dinner, maybe? I dunno what time it is and I'm hungry."
Pulling her phone out, she nodded a bit. "It's a little after five thirty. We should probably eat." Melissa hummed, showing him the time before pocketing her phone.
Lucas nodded. "Sounds good to me. We're ordering pizza or something, right?" He asked.
"If my parents are alright with it, and you too of course, then yeah." Melissa hummed, picking up her pace so she was ahead of him. "Any preference where from?"
Lucas shook his head and allowed Melissa to lead him along. "Anywhere is fine with me, Mel. I'm not too picky."
Turning her head back to him, she let a smile pull up once again. "I know you're not picky… which can be difficult some times." Melissa hummed softly, just teasing him.
Lucas stuck out his tongue playfully. "Hey, food is food, y'know? So long as it hasn't got like, big raw tomatoes or peppers, I'm chill."
“Aw man, guess I’ll have to cancel my order of tomato and pepper pizza.” Melissa teased, sticking her tongue out at him in return. “And I was so looking forward to it.”
"I mean, I'd still eat it. I just wouldn't like it as much." Lucas laughed softly.
"I know you would, and you wouldn't complain either. I wouldn't ever purposely make you something you'd dislike." Melissa hummed, letting a light laugh escape her lips.
"I know, I know…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly, smiling. "Let's just head back in for now, yeah?"
Glancing down the sidewalk, she nodded softly. "Yeah. It's not too far from here, the house I mean." Melissa told him gently, turning her head back to face him.
"Mhmm." Lucas went quiet and stayed silent until they got back to Melissa's house. "Alright, we gotta stop holding hands now, love."
Sighing softly, she gave his hand a firm grasp. "Can I still get a kiss first?" Melissa asked him softly.
"Of course, love." Lucas gently kissed Melissa and let go of her hand.
After pulling back, Melissa sucked in a deep breath as she came up to the front door. "I swear, I'm going to find a way to make this work."
"Make what work?" Lucas asked curiously. "Us? Or the pizza?"
"Us. I'll figure out how we can just be." Melissa insisted with a whisper, holding the door for him once she had stepped inside. "I just… hate having to hide it."
"Yeah… when we move out, we should be able be open about it." Lucas shrugged, following her in.
"But that's… that's so long from now. That's almost two years from now, possibly longer." Melissa whispered, sighing softly as she shut the front door.
"I know, I know… but there's not much we can do, Mel." Lucas sighed as well as he continued following her.
Huffing a bit, she crossed her arms over her chest. "I know it takes time… but I've waited forever for this."
"Me too." Lucas smiled weakly and ruffled Melissa's hair a bit. "We've waited this long. We can wait a little longer."
