Rolling her eyes, she kept her smile up. "Well, if you're up for it, we should figure that out." Melissa hummed, turning back so she could watch where they were going.
Rolling her eyes, she kept her smile up. "Well, if you're up for it, we should figure that out." Melissa hummed, turning back so she could watch where they were going.
"Mm, I suppose so." Lucas kissed Melissa softly and kept walking. "What do you think I'd even like?"
"Do you like tart things?" Melissa asked, trying to narrow down her options. "Like lemonade, or something like that."
"Um… yeah, I like lemonade fine." He shrugged. "The Root Beer I had was really sweet, though. Like, so sweet it gave me chills."
"Yeah, that's why I was wondering about sour. You might like keylime pie, it's still sweet, but not as much. At least to me." Melissa shrugged a bit as she offered.
"Hmm… maybe. We'd probably have to make something like that, though, and my cooking skills are very limited."
"It'll be easier with a recipe. It shouldn't be too hard to figure it out." Melissa hummed, glancing up so she could note where they stood.
Lucas nodded and kept walking. "We're almost back, so we'll have to stop holding hands."
"But I like holding your hand…" Melissa pouted, holding on to his hand tighter. "It's comforting."
"I agree, but I have a feeling neither of us would like to deal with your mother's wrath." He said pointedly.
Sighing, Melissa nodded in agreement to his previous statement. "No… but I really want to hold your hand." She mumbled, regretfully loosening her hold on his hand.
"And I yours, Mel." Lucas sighed as well and hesitated before releasing Melissa's hand.
Pausing in her steps, she turned around so she was facing him. "Can… can I have a kiss first?" She asked meekly, glancing down at her feet.
"Of course, Melissa." Lucas lifted up her chin with one hand and kissed her, closing his eyes. "I love you…"
Pulling back after the kiss, she had a soft smile pulling up on her lips. "Mmm… and I love you." Melissa whispered to him studying his face for a moment. 'He looks so tired…'
Lucas opened his eyes to look at her, smiling softly as well. "We really need to get back, though."
Nodding a bit, she cupped his cheek to peck his lips one last time. "Alright, alright. I know." Melissa sighed softly as she pulled away to head up to the house.
Lucas ruffled her hair affectionately and kept walking. "You'll be alright. We can head back to the park after lunch if you want."
"We can? You'd really be up for going back?" Melissa asked, trying to keep his pace. She had a bright smile pulling up on her lips as they made their way up to the house.
"Well, yeah. Of course I am. It's my favorite place in the world." Lucas grinned just as brightly.
Melissa laughed a bit, taking the lead so she could get the door. "Then it's a date." She hummed out, pushing open the door for him.
"Sounds good to me. After you, Mel." Lucas grinned, waving his arm towards the door.
Shaking her head, she stepped through the door. "Alright sir, if you insist." Melissa hummed, turning around once in the door.
"I do insist, milady." Lucas laughed and followed her inside. "Now, what would you like to have for lunch?"
Smiling at his first comment, she continued on to the kitchen. "Sandwiches, I guess. As long as you're okay with that."
"Sounds good to me." Lucas went to grab the bread from the pantry, humming softly to himself while he walked.
"Looks like you're starting to get more confident in the kitchen." Melissa hummed, pulling the fridge door open with a smile.
"Well, I do remember where the bread is, at least." He laughed, bringing the bread over to the counter. "What else would you like on your sandwich?" He asked.
"We could do grilled cheese sandwiches." Melissa offered, smiling softly at his laugh. It made her happy to see him happy. "Or just cold turkey sandwiches."
"Ooh, grilled cheese could be fun! So long as we don't burn it, that is." Lucas hummed thoughtfully and began rummaging in the fridge for cheese.
