Smiling softly, she sighed contently. "Well, I am here. I'm willing to help when I can. And I care a lot for you. So you're gonna have to get use to it, because I'm gonna be around for awhile."
Smiling softly, she sighed contently. "Well, I am here. I'm willing to help when I can. And I care a lot for you. So you're gonna have to get use to it, because I'm gonna be around for awhile."
Lucas flushed a bit and nodded. "Thanks, Mel… I'm really lucky to have you." He glanced up at her, still smiling weakly.
"I'm just as lucky…" Melissa hummed, resting her head back on the couch with a sigh. "You have no idea."
"I definitely don't." Lucas laughed softly. "I'm not sure how I'm helpful to you, but I'm glad you think so."
"It's not because of your use that I'm lucky… you're just a great friend." Melissa explained, scanning over the ceiling in silence.
Lucas flushed a bit and looked down at the floor. "I-I, uh… right…"
Hearing his stammering, Melissa smiled softly and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "Sorry, I didn't really think that would make you flush."
Lucas laughed weakly. "Heh… sorry, Mel. I-I just… uh… yeah."
"Seriously, you don't have to apologize." Melissa told him, running her thumb over his hand. "It's alright. I don't care if you're flustered, it's not hurting anything."
"Right… I'll try and calm down." Lucas sighed softly, still smiling a bit.
Melissa nodded, smiling at his smile. "Good. I still don't want to have to clean up that mess, after you melt."
Lucas stuck his tongue out playfully. "I'm not gonna melt. That's physically impossible." He huffed.
"Tell that to the witch, from the Wizard Of Oz." Melissa sassed back, giving him a light smirk.
Lucas rolled his eyes. "I'm not a witch, Mel. Pretty sure they're not actually real anyways."
"So we hope," Melissa hummed, glancing back to see her father still on the phone. Taking the risk, she tilted his chin up and placed a soft kiss on his lips. "And you wouldn't be a witch. You'd be a wizard, or warlock."
Lucas flushed red and froze a bit. "I-I… uh… right." He stammered weakly. "Either way, I… don't think… um…"
Melissa smiled down at him softly, pulling back so she could stand. "Mhmm. Come on blondie, let's-" Cutting herself off, she caught sight of her dad leaning on the frame with a light smirk. 'He saw- oh god no…' Having frozen up completely, she tilted her head down with a light flush.
Lucas glanced over and flushed harder, starting to feel a bit lightheaded from it. "I-I, uh… s-sir, I'm so sorry, I… um…" He seemed terrified, and was swaying a bit. God, it's so hot in here…
Melissa glanced over at Lucas, and then back at her dad. She'd just have to risk it… again. "Hey, shh, relax." Melissa whispered, kneeling down in front of him. "He doesn't look mad. I kissed you, not the other way around."
Lucas looked down at Melissa, trembling slightly. "R-Right, I… um…" He glanced over his shoulder at Melissa's father again, one hand in his hair and the other supporting himself on the couch so he wouldn't collapse.
Melissa reached out, and rested her hand on the one supporting himself. "I'm sorry I did that. I shouldn't have." She told him softly, following his gaze over to her father. His light smile had dropped, and he looked more concerned than anything. "I just need you to breath," Melissa whispered to him.
Lucas drew in a few wavering breaths and closed his eyes. "It… it's so hot in here…" He mumbled. He started breathing a bit more heavily and gripped the couch tightly to keep himself up.
Standing up, she gently tipped his chin up as well. “Do you need to lie down? Or maybe some water?” Melissa asked him softly, running her thumb over his bottom lip very lightly. “I can get you anything you need, or I can just leave you alone.”
"Um… I-I dunno… I don't wanna inconvenience you or anything, I… I'm so sorry…" Lucas kept his eyes closed for now, trying to control his breathing so he could calm down.
“You’re not inconveniencing me. And I’m the one who should be sorry.” She insisted, kissing the top of his head before running her fingers through his hair. “For now, you're my priority. You’re matters to me right now.”
"I'm fine, I… I-I'm fine, I'm just… overreacting again… I'm just being stupid…" Lucas sighed, leaning into Melissa's touch a bit.
"You're not being stupid, and you don't have to tell me you're fine when you're not. I want you to feel safe here." Melissa whispered, still running her fingers through his hair.
Lucas nodded weakly. "I'm… I'm sorry I'm so… i dunno… weak? Volatile? Unstable? I'm always causing problems…" He sighed. "I… I should've just stayed home. I can handle it, I… I've caused you so much trouble already…"
Melissa couldn't speak, her voice caught tight in her throat. With shaky hands, she took his into her own and sat down next to him. "L-Lucas… please. Stop saying that." She begged him, her voice soft. "I can't imagine having to let you stay there."
(You know, I think everyone is taking this pretty well :D)
Lucas glanced up at Melissa weakly, fidgeting nervously and still trembling. "But… b-but now you have to deal with me, and I'm… I'm so sorry…"
