“That’s why we’d bring matters toppers.” Melissa shrugged a bit, coming up with a simple solution. “And sleeping bags too, of course.”
“That’s why we’d bring matters toppers.” Melissa shrugged a bit, coming up with a simple solution. “And sleeping bags too, of course.”
"Hmm. I suppose so." Lucas kept glancing around the cavern, looking for something interesting.
"But of course, we don't have to." Melissa shrugged a bit, looking around the dark cavern with a soft smile. "It was just an idea."
"It could be fun so long as we're sure there aren't any bears here." Lucas hummed softly as they continued on.
Nodding a bit, Melissa ran her hand across one of the rigid walls. "We'd have to come through more prepared. As long as we have something to defend ourselves, we should be alright."
"Against bears?" Lucas raised his eyebrows a bit. "I think you're overestimating my strength, Melissa, but thanks for the compliment."
"That, or you're underestimating my violence level. Either way, we should still be fine." Melissa insisted pecking his cheek as she pulled back from the wall.
"Melissa, we would die." Lucas argued, shining his phone flashlight towards the back of the cavern. "That's not how I wanna die."
"Well then. How do you want to die?" Melissa asked with a slight huff. She wasn't actually upset, just teasing.
Lucas shrugged. "Not at the hands of an angry bear, that's for sure. Sounds very unpleasant."
"There are worse ways to go." Melissa shrugged back, bumping elbows with him. Resting her head back on his shoulder, sighing softly as she held hand in her own tightly.
"I suppose so." Lucas hummed softly to himself and laced his fingers with Melissa's. "I don't think there's anything in here."
"Well, there's a cave at least. I thought it looked cool." Melissa shrugged, glancing back. "Do we just wanna head out? There's not much here anyways."
"Mm. Guess we probably should, hmm? With my luck, we'd probably get mauled if we stayed much longer." Lucas laughed and turned back around.
“Since it’s almost noon, what do we wanna do? Head back to the house?” Melissa asked softly, following him back out of the cavern.
"Probably, yeah…" Lucas sighed, carefully climbing back down to the ground and holding his hand out for Melissa. "Lunch or something."
"What sounds good for lunch, then?" Melissa called down to him, carefully making her way down so she wouldn't fall. It was more difficult then just climbing up the tree.
"Probably sandwiches again, knowing us." Lucas shrugged. "But I'm open to any suggestions. I'm not picky."
Once flat on her feet, she smiled at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "We could order pizza. Or save that for dinner, so we're not stuck having sandwiches for the third day in a row."
"Would your parents be okay with that?" Lucas asked, kissing Melissa softly and pulling her close to himself.
Melissa had a soft smile pulling up on her lips. "Mmm… I think so…" She replied, not sounding exactly confident in her answer.
"Maybe we should ask?" Lucas hummed softly and kissed Melissa again. "Wouldn't want to make them angry."
"No, we wouldn't… asking is probably a good idea." Melissa whispered, pecking his lips before pulling back. "If we keep standing here, we'll probably never head back."
"That's true, isn't it?" Lucas hummed a bit more and kissed Melissa once more before taking her hand and beginning to walk.
"One hundred percent true… I know us very well." Melissa joked, holding his hand tightly.
Lucas laughed softly and kept walking. "You do know us very well, Mel."
"It's not that special. You know us pretty well too." Melissa hummed, pecking his cheek with a sweet smile.
"Mm. I suppose so." Lucas flushed a bit when Melissa kissed him, unable to keep from smiling a bit.
Melissa poked his cheek with a teasing look. "You're blushing, again~" She teased, biting on to her lip.
Lucas blushed harder and huffed indignantly. "Don't patronize me…" He said quietly.
