Lucas smiled a bit brighter. "Really? I mean, I guess that's a difference between Claus and I. He was always confident and cocky and charming and stuff."
Lucas smiled a bit brighter. "Really? I mean, I guess that's a difference between Claus and I. He was always confident and cocky and charming and stuff."
"And five-year-old me was not impressed." Melissa snickered, glancing up to study his face. "I may be a little bit like him in some ways, but I think because of that, I found it hard to be his friend."
"Mm. Five year old me wasn't much different than present me to be honest." Lucas laughed a bit as well. "Quiet, shy, doesn't wanna talk to people for the most part."
"I like you that way, there's no need to be different. If you're going to change, do it on your own accords." Melissa told him in a whisper, giving him a soft smile.
"Glad you like it, Melissa. I always used to wish that I was more like Claus, you know? Everybody liked him, and nobody liked me but you. And while I obviously valued your companionship, I couldn't help but feel like I was less than Claus."
Melissa smiled softly, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. “Do you still feel like that, sometimes?” She asked him softly.
"I do sometimes, yeah, but right now…" He moved closer to Melissa. "…I feel like the luckiest guy in the world."
Her stomach fluttered, and her face flushed a soft pink. "Why is that?" Melissa asked softly, resting her free hand on his chest.
"Because I've got a beautiful girl who loves me back, and I wouldn't trade that for the world." Lucas gently lifted Melissa's chin and kissed her softly.
It took her a moment to relax, for she had frozen up at the contact. Though slowly she melted in to his lips, eyes fluttering closed.
Lucas pulled away after a few seconds, his cheeks flushed red. "I… um… s-sorry…" He murmured quietly.
Melissa looked at him, barely able to breath. “D-Don’t be…” Melissa whispered, curling her fingers into a fist. “You just have a problem now.”
"Mm. What's that? I've got a lot of problems already." Lucas laughed quietly and looked back over at Melissa.
“You started something, that I don’t want to end.” Melissa Whispered, sitting up more so she could be face level with him. “Because I think I like it when you kiss me.”
"R-Really? I was worried I was really bad…" Lucas laughed weakly. "I've never kissed somebody before…"
Well… not while conscious at least… Melissa gave him a sweet smile, cupping his face in her hand. "Seriously, how can anyone be bad at kissing? I didn't think that was really a thing."
Lucas shrugged, blushing a bit harder. "I-I dunno… I mean… I… yeah." He stammered and laughed weakly.
Taking note of his red face, she pulled away. "Am I making you uncomfortable?" Her voice was soft, and light. "I don't mean to."
"No, no, you're not doing anything wrong. I'm just flustered…" Lucas looked down at the ground, embarrassed.
Giving him a soft smile, she gave his arm a gentle squeeze. "Is there something I can do? Or do I just let you stay flustered?"
"Um… I really don't think there's much you can do." Lucas laughed. "I mean, we're kissing and stuff now. That's wild."
"Yeah… I just… I dunno. I know there isn't much I can do." Melissa shrugged, sliding her hand into his. "If you feel anything is coming too quickly, just tell me. I know you kissed me first, but if that was a misstep let me know. I don't want to make things awkward between us."
Lucas nodded. "I-I don't think it was a misstep unless you do… I'm just… I really like you, and knowing that you like me back makes my heart all fluttery."
"I'm alright with it, I'm pretty good at voicing my discomfort." Melissa admitted, gnawing on her lip just a little bit. "Though I'm happy I can make your heart so 'fluttery' as you said."
Lucas nodded again, fidgeting nervously. "I just… I think getting our feelings out in the open was good. Now I don't have to be worried you don't like me back." He smiled softly.
"I agree with you, this is good. It keeps one of us looking like an idiot later on. Or having our friends figure it out before we do." Melissa snickered, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. "Though… that makes me think…"
Lucas blushed again and looked over at her, confused. "What does it make you think about?" He asked curiously.
"What if we kept this a secret? Waited for our friends to find out on their own?" She echoed her thoughts aloud, taking the time to think this through. "And continue to insist we're just friends, though hint at the fact we're- I'm assuming at least- dating."
Lucas grinned a bit and nodded. "Oh, that would be fun! They would be so confused." He snickered. "I'm down."
"Though eventually we have to tell them. Or maybe just make it so blindingly obvious, that they figure it out." Melissa continued to think out loud, planning everything in her head.
