@Fraust

Lucas stuck his tongue out playfully. "Can't help that, Mel. Coach says they need me." He grinned. "I guess I'll need other friends for when you're not available as well. I used to just sorta sit at home, which is obviously bad."

"Try and hang out with the guys on your team. I'm sure they'd love to. Whether it be for baseball, or just hanging out." Melissa smiled, copying him by sticking her own tongue out. "I try to be as available as I can be."

@Fraust

"Yeah… I mean, obviously we hang out during practice, but we don't really get together outside of school." Lucas shrugged. "Socializing is… not my forte."

@Fraust

Lucas nodded. "Y-Yeah… that might help. You're better at talking to people than I am." He laughed weakly.

@Fraust

"Um… it makes me really nervous, to be honest." Lucas admitted. "I've tried to ask before, but I always freeze up for some reason."

@Fraust

"How do you mean?" Lucas asked, confused. "How else am I supposed to ask them, then? Other than in person, that is?"

Giving him a teasing look, she readjusted herself so she was facing out towards the street. "It's very simple. It's called a cellphone, and on that cellphone, you can text people. Just like how I invited you over yesterday."

@Fraust

Lucas blushed a bit. "Oh, right… you know I'm kinda stupid, Mel." He laughed weakly. "I don't know all of their numbers, but I should be able to get in contact with some."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"You could always exchange numbers the first week of practice. You are the captain… if that's the right term." Melissa laughed back, with a slight flush. "Anyways, you can always use that to your advantage. Just so you can check up on your teammates."

@Fraust

Lucas flushed harder. "Y-Yeah… I forgot about that. I don't really know what the role of captain entails, but hopefully I don't need to really know anything beforehand…"

"You'll be fine Lucas. I've seen you play, there's a reason the coach picked you. You make up for the lack of social skills with how well you play." She chirped, bumping his arm with her elbow lightly.

@Fraust

"Here's hoping." Lucas sighed softly. "I'm hopeless at talking to people, but at least I've got baseball, right? I can throw things and I can hit things, so that's something."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"That sounds really bad out of context." Melissa snickered, leaning on her hand as she watched the sun finally set behind the houses. It was officially dark outside. "But yeah, you've got talent."

@Fraust

"Mm. If you say so, Melissa." Lucas sighed, leaning back a bit to watch the sun sink below the horizon.

@Fraust

"You don't even know that I can sing. I could be lying." Lucas replied pointedly. "And you're really good at piano."

@Fraust

"Mm… I don't think I've ever actually sang in front of you. Except maybe when we were in choir in elementary school. I was pretty bad at that point, though."

@Fraust

Lucas blushed again, his heart starting to race. "B-But I dunno what to sing!" He whined. "You put me on the spot here!"

@Fraust

"Um… I… I think I can try now… maybe…?" Lucas said nervously, trying to decide on a song he could sing.

@Fraust

"No, no… I… I can do it. Just gimme a sec." After a few seconds of consideration, Lucas slowly began singing Fly Me To The Moon. His voice was very shaky at first from nerves, but he gradually became more comfortable. He actually sounded really nice once he wasn't literally shaking; his voice was smooth and settled somewhere between tenor and baritone.

Rather surprised at the sound of his voice, she gave him a soft smile. The song choice was interesting, though she didn't mention that. She just enjoyed the sound of his voice, any tension she had left seeming to fizzle.

@Fraust

Lucas was flushed red again by the time he finished the song. He fell silent and stared firmly at the horizon, afraid to meet Melissa's eyes.
