"Hey, Lu?" She asked softly, something beginning to bother her. Her own mind had gone back to the conversation from before, and she couldn't stop thinking about it.
"Hey, Lu?" She asked softly, something beginning to bother her. Her own mind had gone back to the conversation from before, and she couldn't stop thinking about it.
"Yeah, Mel?" Lucas replied, still humming softly as he glanced back at her. "Something wrong?" He asked when he saw her expression.
“Just…” She sucked in a deep breath, trying to figure out how to word her intrusive thoughts. “Do you think… do you think we’ll still be good friends in the future? Once we’ve grown up, and moved on in life?”
"I hope so." Lucas replied, continuing to walk. "I mean, we're really close, and I can't see myself wanting to separate myself from you anytime soon. What brought this on?" He asked.
"Baseball… I mean, we were talking about our futures and everything. I guess I'm just nervous mine would be without even knowing you anymore…" Melissa whispered, watching her feet intently as she made her way back.
"Oh… Well, I'm gonna try my best to keep in touch with you, Mel. All it takes is a little effort to continue talking to each other once we're older." Lucas shrugged.
"I guess that is true," Melissa sighed back, slowly getting more tired the longer she walked. "I guess I'm just worried something will happen between us. Something will cut us off from each other."
Lucas shrugged. "Technically, it's possible, but I hope we only grow closer when we get older. I mean, we're planning on moving in to an apartment together."
That's what worries me… Sucking in a deep breath, she nodded softly. "I hope so, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens." Pushing all thoughts on the topic away, she looked up to see her house was less than a block away.
"Mhmm." Lucas picked up the pace a little and they soon reached Melissa's house. He put his bike in the shed and retrieved Melissa's to do the same.
"You… you don't have to do that. I can put my own away." Melissa said softly, pulling her helmet off her head. "I mean, doesn't it hurt to lift things?"
Lucas shrugged. "Not too much. I don't mind, honestly." He took off his own helmet and put it where it belonged.
Watching him carefully, she bit into her lip. "If… if you're sure, Lu." Melissa whispered, handing her own helmet over to Lucas.
"I'm sure." Lucas smiled softly to reassure Melissa and put her helmet beside his. "Ready to go in?" He asked.
(I finally got a chance to listen to the song and it's super cute ^-^)
(Lol, I had it playing, and just thought it fit)
"Yeah, I'm tired and ready to just go relax." Melissa let out a heavy sigh, stretching in place. "What about you?"
(Yeah, it does ^^)
"Same…" Lucas yawned a bit and headed towards the house, holding the door open for Melissa when they arrived. "I presume I'll be sleeping on the couch?" He asked.
"Oh… yeah." Melissa sighed, nodding gently. "Probably, because I don't think my parents would approve of us sleeping in the same room." She mumbled, wondering if her could sleep in her brother's room.
Lucas nodded. "Fine with me. I'll probably have you grab my bag though if you don't mind… might be best if I'm not seen going in and out of your room all the time."
"Oh, sure. And even if you did, all we would need to do was leave my door open." Melissa gave him a shrug, sitting herself on the couch. "I could always ask my parents, if you could sleep in Gabe's room. He's not even here."
"Alright… I mean, you can ask if you want, but I don't really mind sleeping on the couch." Lucas sat down beside her.
"I don't want you to have to though…" She mumbled, leaning back into the couch. "I feel bad, when I know I can do better. So I'm going to ask, as long as you're comfortable sleeping in there."
(Where is Gabe btw? I feel like this is something Lucas would know even though I don't lol)
Lucas shrugged. "Fine with me, Mel. I honestly don't really care much where I sleep." He yawned a bit.
(Currently, at an apartment with a friend. Otherwise he would be at the house, locking himself in his bedroom :P)
"Well I'll ask, but probably after dinner… whenever we eat. If you're hungry at least." Melissa whispered, trying not to nod off into sleep.
(Nice)
"I'm not super hungry, to be honest… what time is it, anyways?" Lucas asked, yawning again. "And why are we both so exhausted?"
"I-I've got no clue… for either of those." Melissa yawned back, rubbing her face in her hands. "But you need… need to stop yawning. It's making me yawn!"
"Sorry!" Lucas sighed. "I can't help it…" He lay his head back on the couch and stared at the ceiling. "I'm just… tired."
"I am too, you… you yawning isn't helping!" Melissa yawned again, curling up into a more comfortable position. "I'm not actually… actually blaming you…"
"Soooorry…" He whined, yawning again as well. "There's not a whole lot I can do about it, Mel." He sighed softly.
"We could take a nap," She mumbled back, finding herself beginning to nod off fully. "Even if you don't, I might fall asleep here in a minute…"
"Mm… I guess so…" Lucas curled up on the opposite side of the couch and closed his eyes, soon drifting off into a light sleep.
