The doctor nodded. “I’ll be back later on. You lay here,” he said as a lady showed up at the curtain.

Jay nodded again, and did as the doctor had said to, chewing on his lip anxiously.

The lady came forward Finn still stood there. He reached for Jay’s hand. “Hello I’m Margarette Potter with the Department If children and Families,” She said smiling. “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”

Jay hesitated, then nodded. "Okay." he replied simply.

Finn stayed silent trying no to make sure they don’t have a reason to kick him out early. “Who do you live With?” She asked calmly.

"My parents. Uhm…(can't remember if I named them yet or not haha) Henry and Iris Lee." Jay replied slowly.

(Don’t think you did lmao)
The woman nodded writing something down. “Okay. Can you tell me why you are here?”

"Because Finn made me." Jay replied. "And… because my dad's been…hurting my mom and I for years."

Mangerete nodded. “Do you mind telling me exactly what happened this time?” She glanced at Finn for a second but didn’t comment.

"I…I don't know. Same thing as every time I guess. But…" He shrugged. "I don't know if the ribs got broken today or a different time, o-or…I just…I just know there are new bruises…"

She nodded. “We will have to take pictures of your injuries Incase this goes to trial is that okay?” She asked.

He nodded slightly. "Okay."

She nodded again. “We can do that later. First I think I need to talk to you alone for a bit,” she said looking over at Finn. He nodded and looked at Jay to make sure that’s ok.

Jay bit his lip slightly, then nodded to Finn. "I'll be okay."

Finn nodded and left the room. Standing right outside but far enough that he couldn't really hear much. She smiled at Jay. "So I can't help but to notice your mark," She commented.

Jay nodded a little bit, and realized that it looked like Finn had hurt him or something. He hadn't, but…didn't know if he should say anything yet.

“Soulmates?” She asked. Sitting down on a chair across from him.

Jay nodded. "Yeah."

“That’s good. Did your father know?” She asked.

He looked at his hands, and nodded slightly.

"Is that how it started or did he hurt you before?" she asked.

"Before." he replied softly.

She nodded. "Okay. Has it ever gone beyond hitting?" She asked.

"What…what do you mean?"

"Any verbal or sexual abuse?" she asked speaking calmly.

"Oh." he shook his head. "Not…maybe some verbal, but not…he never sexually…that never happened."

"Okay," She said again writing something down.

Jay watched her carefully.

She looked up after a second. "Do you mind if I take those pictures now? Your X-rays will also be used if this goes to court."

He nodded slightly. "Go ahead."
