He chuckled. "I know. I know, don't worry."
He chuckled. "I know. I know, don't worry."
”Good.” she chuckled, kissing his cheek.
He smiled down at her, kissing her cheek in return.
She smiled at the kiss. ”You really are very sweet when you want to be.” she sighed.
He gave a half smile. "Ah. Yeah."
She smiled sincerely at him and nuzzled against his neck.
He smiled back, holding her close.
”Why do you seem to get a little flustered when I compliment you?” she asked softly.
He blinked. "Oh. Uhm." he shrugged his shoulders slightly.
She looked eagerly up at him for his answer. Though she wouldn’t be too surprised if it had something to do with how his father had treated him.
He looked away. "I don't deserve them. The compliments." he replied simply.
She sighed softly. ”That’s not true.” she told him, sitting up a little and hugging him. ”You deserve to hear good things about yourself.” Especially from someone who cares about you.
He shrugged a little bit. "I…" he sighed softly, running a hand through his hair.
”You do.” she insisted gently. ”You are a sweet, kind, amazing person and you deserve to hear that about yourself.”
He shrugged again. "Maybe."
She looked at his eyes. ”No. Not maybe. You do.” she told him, placing a hand against his cheek.
He looked down at her carefully, then shook his head.
”Hey.” she said gently. ”It’s ok to deserve something good in life.”
He shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe for you."
”For you too, Killian.” she told him. ”I think, more than anyone, you deserve some real good things in your life.” She wasn't going to waver on this.
He shrugged again. "Maybe." he didn't sound convinced, though.
She sighed a little at his attitude. ”Why don't you believe me?” she asked. ”You’re not normally one to give up on something. Why are you giving up on yourself?”
He sighed. "I just…" he shook his head. "It's nothing."
”Please tell me.” she begged.
"It's nothing, Jade." he said again, not looking at her.
She gave him a firm look, not believing that for a second. ”Does it have to do with your father?” she asked.
He shrugged. "Maybe."
That sounds like a yes this time. She sighed, nodding a little. ”Killian, he won't get to you and he can't hurt you.” she told him. ”I’ll help you.”
Killian shook his head a little bit. "It's nothing. Just…it's nothing."
”If he still scares you, then it's not nothing.” she argued.
