Jade tilted her head slightly as she saw the pictures of him growing up. She had always brushed off the streaks in his hair as a side effect of his magic or something like that. Of course, that wouldn't be mentioned in the files. But what had happened to cause so many to suddenly appear?

@ElderGod-Icefire

The images had been taken each time he had been taken into custody. There was also another file on Killian's father, that he had been jailed, and that Killian had been placed in the foster system. His mother had never been found.

Jade opened the file on his father. She figured that the monster had been a very big impact on Killian. She was a little nervous about what she might find but her need to understand… Her need to help him made her look.

@ElderGod-Icefire

His father's full name was Henry James Blackwood. Member of the Ten Cranes gang. Jailed for child abuse, assault, theft, rape, and murder, along with the suspected murder of his wife, Margaret Cross-Blackwood.

Jade scowled at the criminal record, not terribly surprised by the list… though one obviously repulsed her more than the others. She opened the files on the Ten Cranes gang. Not all bad guys wear a mask. she remembered that fact very clearly.

@ElderGod-Icefire

The Ten Cranes gang was still ongoing and such, and seemed to have grown since Henry Blackwood was part of it. It was listed for many things, with a list of known members, along with suspected members, and people who weren't part of it, but had worked with them before. Killian's name was in the third list.

Jade blinked in surprise at seeing his name on the list… Then again, it was likely he had been forced to join because of his father or decided to join because of that poor excuse of a man. She was glad he had gotten out of the gang.

The tattoo… She realized quickly pulling up multiple pictures of the people from all three lists.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(ooooo okay. Thank you for remembering lmao)

It was a tattoo of a black rose, bleeding. It was located either on the inner wrist or the shoulderblade.

(I like to reread some times 😉)

Jade sighed as the pictures confirmed that his tattoo was the gang mark. She had always wondered why people did that when they became part of a gang. It was almost reminiscent of a brand to her. As she closed the information about the Ten Cranes, she went back to the file on Killian’s father. She was curious if he was still alive or not and if he was alive was he still part of the gang?

Jade frowned as she read that, unsure how to react. On one hand, that man had no doubt screwed up Killian’s life and started him towards his current career. On the other, she could not deny that Henry was a source of information… About the Ten Cranes, what had happened to his wife… Killian’s past…
No! Jade slammed her hands on the desk as she stood up, noting the prison the man was in.

Jade walked away from the computer and started pacing the room. ”I won't do it.” she muttered. ”The police probably asked him all those questions and I doubt he cooperated then. He wouldn't cooperate with a girl playing dress-up… That's what he’d see if I even tried.” she pointed out, her tone rising a little in frustration. ”Besides that would be a low blow. Asking him personal questions about Killian. It’d be less of a betrayal if I posted his address so everyone could find him. No! I won't do it! I've already done enough.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

(Uhm…how about you just post her meeting the hero, and I'll answer when I can? I don't have time to fill out a full temp, so I'll make it up as I go lmao)

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(ok. That's fine.)

Jade huffed in frustration and grabbed her helmet. Maybe finding some small-time crooks or something would help get her head straight. Or even just a nice drive might work. She soon exited her Den, started the bike and headed out on patrol.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah that's good)

Alexis Marin, AKA Rook, had been meaning to speak with Brainwave for a long time. Alexis was called Rook for her ability to shapeshift into a giant crow.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Rook landed in front of her, shifting back into a girl with wild red hair and dark eyes. A slash of black across her eyes served as a mask, her clothing form fitting and protective. "Brainwave."
