”I know.” Jade said softly.

Killian sighed softly.

”I just wanted to let you know that.” Jade said a little awkwardly.

"Yeah. I just…god, I don't know. What do you want me to say?" He knew he couldn't say that he returned her feelings. No. That wouldn't lead anywhere good.

”I… I don't know.” Jade sighed, curling up on herself. ”I guess… You don't really have to say anything. I just wanted to apologize and explain.” she said.

"Alright. I'm sorry for getting cross with you. I just…god, I don't know."

”No, it's fine. I understand.” she assured. ”I don't really know either.”

He sighed. "Yeah."

”I should probably hang up and let you go now, huh?” Jade asked softly.

"Yeah." he replied quietly.

”Alright.” she replied gently with a small nod. ”I guess I’ll see you around.”

"Yeah." He replied quietly. "Hopefully." He bit his lip, running a hand through his hair and wishing that he could say what he wanted to.

Jade nodded a little with a small hopeful smile. ”Unless one of us quits, we’ll see each other.” she reminded him playfully, trying to lighten the mood a little.

He chuckled. "Yeah, that's true." He replied, looking out his window.

Jade laughed a little with him. ”Alright. Well, I should let you go now. I need to let Sophie know I’m ok now.” she smiled.

"Yeah. Alright. See you around." He replied softly.

”See you around.” Jade agreed reluctantly ending the call. She sighed and stood up, walking to her bedroom door to look for Sophie… If she was even still home.

Jade was sitting in her Den, staring at the computer in front of her. She had been over both sides of this little debate for… weeks, honestly, but she had finally made up her mind. The heroine let out a small breath before she pulled her seat closer and began typing. She needed to know more about Killian. "I'm sorry for this." she said to herself as she felt like she was violating his privacy but she couldn't deny her want for information any longer.

There was a scroll of information. Images of a younger Killian. A teenager, glaring at the camera through feral, angry green eyes. Then just a tween, twelve years old. The anger was still there, but there was fear, too, and bruises. His arm was in a sling. Beside it was a photo of an older man, along with a paragraph.
Henry Blackwood, 45, has been arrested after evidence was uncovered that he was linked with the Ten Cranes gang, along with abuse of his twelve year old son, Killian Blackwood. His wife vanished 8 years ago under mysterious circumstances, and has not been seen since.

Jade smirked a little at the first picture. Despite the anger, he was kinda cute back then but when she scrolled down to the next one her smile faded into sympathy. He didn't deserve to be treated like that. She knew his father was abusive but she didn't know about his mother. Why would she? Killian hadn't mentioned her.
Ten Cranes… the name sounded familiar but she couldn't remember much about them. She continued her search.

There was more. His record. For theft, and two for physical assault. Further searching into the assault revealed that it had been more of a fight, not exactly assault. A few more images. As he got older, more white streaks appeared. There were far more in his photo from 18 than his photo at 16. It was unclear where they were from.
