Aarin placed her hand in his, noting the chilly temperature of his fingers. "Whatever you say," she humored. "Yes, I'm ready to go." Her smile had dwindled down into pure contentment, leaving the playful glimmer in her eye in its wake. She kept her gaze on his face for a moment, wondering if the reddish tint was from the cold or if it was something she had done. She didn't contemplate this for too long before she turned her head forward again. "You had me worried," she began, "I was beginning to wonder if you were going to let me go by myself. And you know I would never forgive you if you did such a thing." As always, she was fluent in facetiousness.

Aarin hated such ceremonies, and she typically made it quite clear without ever really having to explicitly say it. Crossed arms, furrowed brow, refraining from speaking with the exception of sparse snide comments, et cetera, et cetera. But she tolerated it the best she could, especially when she had her best friend by her side.

“Agh! Man, this is harder than i thought!” He exclaimed.
“See i got called with Tyson to bring out the prisoner during the ceremony. So i wont be able to be with you” he says as he raised his white eyebrows in concern. He hated leaving her alone and dissapointing her.
“I’m sorry…” he says looking away a little bit.
“If i had a choice i would get out of it. But you know i cant deny Vienna.” He sighed.

(Sorry its short, I’m in a hurry)

@croccin-champagne

It was a few minutes later that her father spoke again, voice soft, and almost hesitant. So different from his usual confident and strong booming. "Mitia? Did he….did he tell you why he did it? Why he killed the angel, even knowing what would happen?"

He had. Terron had told her exactly why, when she'd found him over the body of the angel. But no one would have believed him but her, no one would have trusted an already outcasted druid over an angel. So he had made her promise not to tell anyone. He had made sure that she wouldn't drag herself into it as well, had her make an Oath. "I'll take the punishment I'm given. I did what I did, Cail, and there's no changing that." Her brother was a dumbass, but he wasn't exactly wrong. "No. He just said to keep an eye on things and to…get ready."

If Terron wasn't here to ascend to the position of Chieftan when her father stepped down, she would have to. And she was most definitely not prepared for that. They deserve a good leader, and he's going to be that.

(Sorry its short, I’m in a hurry)

(No worries!)

Aarin was quiet, furrowing her brow and looking to the side to absorb this information. Eventually she nodded slowly and returned her gaze forward to the floor with an audible sigh. “I see. It’s alright. I’ll just have to manage, I suppose.” She raised her gaze from the floor to the oncoming sights, and then to him. Her expression was stoic now, but her eyes always betrayed her emotions. Dissapointment first, but no trace of anger despite her earlier threat. She loosely shrugged, deciding the next logical thing would be to find someone else she knew. But without him, the ceremony would be much less fun than it already wasn’t.

(Also I really like Cailill already)

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

He let out a sigh, not wanting to leave her. They always stuck together during the ceremonies, so what was she going to do? Plus he always loved being with her.
He grabbed her hand and gave it a soft squeeze. “Hey! Ill make it up to you alright! Next week, which is in about two days if i remembered correct, you and me. Do whatever you want alright?” He says smiling, innocent eyes like a puppy as he looked into her eyes. “Plus, we haven’t had time to do anything fun lately due to our injuries.” He sighed. “Oh, how are yours doing? Healed yet? They don’t hurt do they? You can move your wings right? I know i got my wing pretty damaged, along with a ton of others. I mean what is it with them targeting our wings… they’re sensitive” he says in a pouty voice.
“Anyway, sorry i was rambling.” He says still holding her hand, his rather cold though

@lavender_ladybug group

((awww thank you!! she's brand new and im loving her too!! aarin is such a mood and an icon tbh))

(you’re welcome! And same! Aarin is brand new too, I’m really having fun with her lolol)

Aarin broke eye contact to glance down at their hands while she considered this. When she deemed the trade-off fair enough, she bobbed her head and looked at him again. “Yes, I’ll accept that. My injuries are healed enough to actually fly someplace now.” She placed her free hand into her pocket, letting her gait loosen up and slow a bit to match her friend’s pace. “Lucky for me most of my wounds were on my body. My wings were spared for the most part. However, I am convinced they shoot at our wings because they know they’re sensitive.” She wiggled her hand in his, wrinkling her nose at the temperature.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

“Probably” he hummed as they walked together towards the crowd off all of the winged guardians.
“I keep on forgetting that our enemies are smart. Though my shoulder still hurts. Its not completely healed yet. I still believe its because nobody kissed it better” he sighed, pouting and slipping his bottom lip out.
They neared them and was soon spotted by the crowd of commoners that had gathered before them today.
“Ive gotta go, but I promise you that date” he winked at her, kissing her hand teasingly before he let go, lifting off and flying to the other side of the gathering to where the prisoner was being held.

(Both of your characters are really cool and i like them a lot <3 I’m glad you guys decided to roleplay with me)

@lavender_ladybug group

(Ah Thanks! I’m really liking Seong-Jin so far. <3 And me too :) )

“You better,” Aarin chuckled while he kissed her hand. Once he let go, she let it fall down to her side again, watching him fly off. She stood there looking in the direction and lingering there for no more than a moment before she found her a place near the commoners, but keeping an appropriate distance. Her gaze scanned the crowd in search for anyone she could tolerate. If she couldn’t find anyone, she supposed standing alone wouldn’t be so bad as long as she wasn’t in the densest part of the crowd. Aarin tucked another strand of ebony hair behind her ear, and pulled her wings closer against her back.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Seong-Jin landed swiftly in the ground without a single noise. As he wasn't supposed to let anyone know he was there. Going behind the palace after looking in every which way to see if anyone was following him, he went it.
Soon a tall, Brunette man walked over to him. Wings huge with a shade of brown to them, complimenting the white a bit. Pretty muscled. Much more than Seong-Jin at least. He definitely looked strong.
Tyson smiled big at him, punching him in the arm and ruffling his hair. Right outside of the cell. "you ready Jin? "
The white haired boy only nodded, rubbing the arm he punched. Man, that really hurt!

Tyson turned to unlock the cell, waving at the prisoner as he always did. Greeting them with a smile. He liked to try to brighten up their day every time he brought them out.
"ready to go Mr. Iforgotyourname?"
Seong-Jin sighed, "let's go… " he says backing up, letting the prisoner and Tyson get through.
Soon a horn blew three times. Each one, two seconds from eachother. Exactly.
"it's time to go. Don't worry bud, you won't die today. Thats later on" Tyson chuckled a bit.
The two Angels had the prisoner by the arms on each side, being quite gentle with him as the angels were supposed to do. Unless they resist. Then they have permission to not hold back

@lavender_ladybug group

Aarin kept to herself on the outskirts of the crowd while she waited for the ceremony to actually begin. When she felt it should be starting any second now, she stood on her tippy toes and and craned her neck to try and see through the gaps between the other angels’ heads and shoulders. Her view was mostly obscured— a frustrating effect to standing behind people. She raked her bottom lip between her teeth impatiently, keeping her shoulders hunched and arms crossed as if she were cold.

Aarin lowered her heels back to the ground. While she waited for the ceremony to begin, she supposed she could take the time to brainstorm what she wanted to do with Seong-Jin next week. There was always a park they could visit, or a cliff to sit and read together. That all sounded interesting to her, but she doubted he would find that as entertaining as something more high-energy.

@croccin-champagne

"There he is."

Terron, escorted by two angels, like he was a hazard to the people around him. Cailill's urge to shout to him was strong, the urge to tell off the angel's even stronger, but her father's hand in hers was a reminder. She couldn't start anything, not here. Not in front of the tribe, not in front of her father. He didn't deserve that. He couldn't take another one of his children getting into fights with angels, not after one of them was going to be killed because of that. She hated it, but keeping quiet—for now—was the best idea. Stay strong, for all of them.

"I see him. He-Keintei, he's being escorted. This is desecration of our people, all because angels are too stupid to think that maybe-" She cut herself off, shaking her. Head. You took the Oath.

@lavender_ladybug group

Aarin wrinkled her nose at the slivers she saw of the man who had killed their second-in-command. She bounced up in her toes again to get a better look, and then down again when it didn’t have a major difference on her vision. Her gaze turned towards the man’s tribe. She didn’t have as much contempt for them as she did the perpetrator, but there was the question of if the tribe had raised him to act against an innocent royal. Prejudice could kill. She tilted her chin up ever so slightly.

Slowly, Aarin turned her gaze away from them and returned her attention to the beginning of the ceremony.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

(Hey guys!! I’m so so so sorry! I totally forgot about this!)

Seong-Jin and Tyson held the prisoner there on stage as another angel landed from the sky to the ground, the center of the stage the wind pulling to their huge black wings as they flew backwards and pulled against her back. She wore a long white dress that was rather tight against her petite body. Raven black hair falling down to the center of her back and blue eyes. This was the queen. Vienna
The look on her face was stern, but motherly.
Next to her, stood the King, big and bulky with big brown and silver wings. Both of them wore their crown, along with their Son. The prince and the next heir to the throne.
He was promising to say the least. A good warrior and a good leader.
The angel second in command would be also next to them, but being the angel that was murdered, he was in the morgue right now. The date of his funeral would be announced in this.

Seong-Jin felt heavy eyes on him, filled with anger and hate. Most of the commoners hated them, and that was fine. His blue eyes spotted a girl near the back, her strong gaze sent shivers down his spine and made him look away, simply straight ahead.

The queen stepped up and cleared her through, her voice loud and stern.
“Attention angels, humans, and the creatures alike” she started, looking down on everyone. Spotting her angels in the crowds to keep the peace so no fights or riots were started. Proud of them, she acted to love them all. And to a point, she did.
“Tonight we discuss the murder of my second in command, Jade. A good warrior and a good leader. Killed by the hands of this thing” she says, turning to Tyson and Seong-Jin as they stepped forward with the prisoner.
Tyson and him had to have a firm grip on him so he didnt escape even though he had huge metal cuffs around his wrists and ankles.

“He will be sentenced to death in two months, giving him time to say goodbye, and be questioned.” She says hatred in her eyes. She was attached to Jade and some even rumored for her to be having an affair.
If that were the case, the queen herself could be sentenced to death and her crown given to the Kings Mistress. As any kingdom, the queen was only allowed to be loyal to the king and no one else as the king had free reign with the ladies.

Seong-Jin thought about it for a bit and wondered if he was hired to murder him by the queen. It would be a good story. She hired or even threatened a commoner to kill him because suspicion was getting too high and she would lose her place as queen and even her wings. Thats how an angel was to step down.
Instead of an execution, the angels had their wings cut off and they were thrown in with the commoners to be hated. It was worse than dying, for everyone hated them.
Jin always feared that happening to him, yet he had done nothing to be unloyal. So he had nothing to worry about… yet

@croccin-champagne

Sentenced to death. The way the words were said, so clear and sure, rid Cailill of any hope she had left that her brother would gain fair trial, and the chance that he could make it out of this. She could feel it, the few tribe's people who had been able to make it to the ceremony, dimming. The energy her people carried faded out, murmurs rippling among them for a moment before her father's shoulders shook once. A sob. She had seen her father cry but twice in her life, always a strong face for his children and people. He never let himself cry. But here, he couldn't help it.

Her brother was going to die. Unless she could stop this, somehow. Cail was a schemer after all, it was what she did. Made half baked plans and saved the day. Fixing things. Sometimes, it took someone not giving up. Could the same be said in this situation? Could her brother be saved by her lack of knowledge on when to give up and let things happen?

Nobody would know, unless she tried. And by the spirit of Daylill, she had a plan already blooming in her mind. Her own seed had planted, watered by spite, and now it would come to bloom, without being cut short.

Cailill was going to save her brother if she died trying.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

(You can choose what the angel did and why her brother did it, but yeah)

Seong-Jin gave a glance at the man in shackles, an uneasy feeling in his stomach as he did.
Vienna spoke again, hatred intertwined in her words “He will be taken in for questioning. If something can be proved….that he himself didnt kill one of my angels and someone else did. Whoever did, will be persecuted and killed. For treason, murder, and framing an innocent. If thats not the case, i will have Terrons in my hands, i swear it” she stood tall, confident, and strong. No one dared confront her or speak up about anything here.
Until she asked that is.

“If anyone wants to speak up, i will be allowing them to without punishment. Only talk if you know anything to help. If not then dont say anything and keep your voice down” she says with a sigh, already had enough of this

@croccin-champagne

((would you like that information now, or would you rather it came up dramatically later?))

Cail's mouth was open before she could even think, but luckily, a hand covered it before anything could be said. Her uncle's eyes pleaded with her. Keep quiet, They said. Unless you have something to say that can help him. She didn't. Not yet. Because a baseless accusation without proof…

She removed her uncle's hand. When she spoke, there was something different to her voice, a power that could rival the Queen's, at least in confidence and the way it commanded the attention of the people around him. Her words carried an accent, the one her people all spoke with, but hers had always been different. Her accent itself just a tad more alluring, like it was drawing one in, though no magic was involved but what ran through the voice itself.

"You promise him a fair trial, a fair questioning. What is to be done should the killing have been in self defense, or otherwise? Will he be killed all the same?" She called, locking eyes with her brother for just a moment. Her Oath was not broken in asking a question. Should they come upon the answer themselves, she could not be at fault. And what that Angel had done… it deserved to be outed.

(Oo I’m glad this is back! Since Aarin is kinda just a bystander watching this all go down I might wait to post until she meets up with Seong-Jin again. Unless her inner monologue would be helpful for the plot?)

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Everyone in the crowd was taken aback by the fact that someone spoke up.
Someone dared to speak up to Vienna? And risk their lives?
Seong-Jin didnt expect it to come from the angry bean in the back, but he kept his mouth shut, keeping a grip on the prisoner, the murder. Who knows if he actually did this out of self defense or not.
He was pretty set on the queen herself threatening them. Jin was no writer or anything, so that was the best thing he had come up with the past two days. Well actually, he only thought of it last night.

Vienna cleared her throat and let out a long sigh,
“What….is your relation with this man?” The Queen asked softly, not showing any aggression anymore. She was being patient…why? Because she was confident

(Also, you can choose. I think it would be a bit fun to keep it a secret for a but and have both of us and the characters guessing, trying to figure out why and then it dramatically come out. Idk lol)

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

(Oo I’m glad this is back! Since Aarin is kinda just a bystander watching this all go down I might wait to post until she meets up with Seong-Jin again. Unless her inner monologue would be helpful for the plot?)

(You can if you want!! You dont have to, and if you do, you dont have to write a ton lol. Though I’m planning on the next few scenes being a bit dramatic and like a riot starts. So the angels below will have to help out with that)

@croccin-champagne

"Ah, of course. My apologies, how could I forget to introduce myself." Cail's lips turned up in what could have been a smile, if not for the coldness emanating from it. "My name is Cailill La-Rennale, of the Vie Kentei tribe. And the man you are holding, the man you claim to be a cold blooded murderer, is my twin brother." She said, releasing her father's hand and stepping forward, hands clasped almost calmly in front of her. The crowd seemed to shift a bit, clearing the way so that she was visible. The commoners knew there was more here, there usually was. And it wasn't hard to tell in the way she was presenting herself.

"You hold the next in line Chief of our tribe, leaving my people without the man trained to be their leader. I have no information to aid you in your investigation, but I do implore you to look just a bit deeper than the surface. Not everything is as it seems. And this idyllic world you've built? Nothing more than a cover story for the turmoil beneath." It took courage to speak to the Queen like that, but she had promised to allow anyone to speak up and keep their life. So, that's what Cail was doing.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

(Depending on how this goes, how hostile everyone around is, it might or might not happen. You guys can choose if something happens or not and why, if a commoner lashes out (reason, i mean one of the angels could have done something stupid or been aggressive in the back and the commoner could be acting in self defense, idk you can also choose that because the angels basically are the bad guys here) and does something crazy (idk, try to friggin kill an angel in the crowd. If so, they would be immediately executed and i riot or something of the sorts could start there. It doesn’t have to happen lol)

The Queen smiled, not kindly though. Annoyance written all over the defined dark features of her face.
“I said speak up if you have anything to be useful to me. I dont give a damn whether he is your brother or not. I know i asked the question, but you have given me nothing of use to me nor him. We will look into it more than we already have.” She sighed “now, unless you have anything actually useful to say to me, then shut it. If not, you will be retrained. If you fight back, you will be punished.”

Seong-Jin bit his lip hard, praying to the Gods for her not to say anything else. He knew if she did, the angels would be rough and he didnt want that for her, nor for the rest of the angels, knowing they weren’t going to take that well in the least. He knew, as well as the crowd below, all of the angels couldn’t take the whole city at once. But they also knew, more would die. And for what? Some commoners justice?
Jin didnt know whether they would be smart and do the right thing or they would lash out according to all of their emotions in the heat of the moment..

@croccin-champagne

"Ah, but your Majesty did ask me my relation, did she not?" Cail asked, meeting the Queen's gaze. She bowed slightly, and though it near seemed condescending, there was no proof of that. And, in fact, she had done nothing that would warrant any sort of repercussions. In her life–well, sort of, but no one but Terron knew about that–and here and now. "I am doing no more than expressing my hope that this shall be taken seriously, and done without bias. Simply a woman concerned for her brother. Have a good day, my Queen, thank you for hearing out your citizens."

With that, she stepped back, falling once again into the safety of her people. The way they stood beside her formed a sort of barrier, meaning should any of the guards come for her, they would have to physically move her family out of the way. And everyone here knew the problems that would cause.

((honestly…i think should someone go to 'detain' cail–for speaking lmao–the crowd would likely retaliate themselves. ykno, the whole thing of that being one of them, in trouble for nothing more than concern for her brother. helps that cail is incredible at speeches and rousing certain emotions lmao))

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

She let out a scowl “Its spoken after ive said not to. Get her out of here” she says, the guards moving towards her and her tribe. They didnt care whether the tribe protected her or not. They would be able to get through them, not just with their strength.
Jin watched, raking his lip in between his teeth nervously as he held the prisoner. He knew that girl had guts….but that? If she didnt go with them right away, this wasnt going to end well.
He figured a riot would break out, and since not all of the angels can take this amount of people, the girl would most likely be able to slip from the guards hand.
He simply had to watch it unfold. If anything went wrong and Jin had to come down and help, Tyson would be able to keep the prisoner. He wasn’t at his full strength, already beaten by the prison guards for answers. They were always rather rough with their ways those guards.

Three angels moved towards the commoner girl, ready to grab her, and ready to fight back any of the other tribe members protecting her. “Leave now, or else we will force you to. You have no right to disobey Vienna, and she wont stand for it.” His deep voice called to her from outside of the “barrier”.
People around them were already starting to get hostile, but everyone around them made way for the three big angels, not daring to go near them, as they feared if they so much as touched their wings they would be smited by God himself. That wasnt quite the case, but the angels would do just the same.

@croccin-champagne

Cail leaned to speak in her father's ear, murmuring in a language the guards had no hope of understanding. No member of their tribe would teach an angel the language of their people, of the forest. He shot her a worried look, giving her a quick hug before guiding the group through the crowd, to head back to their homes in the forest.

With her people safe and taken care of, she grinned, a recklessly unafraid expression, as she stepped towards the guards. "Ah, no trouble here. We were already on our way out." She said, speaking with all the tone of someone talking about the weather. She got closer, not close enough for them to feel the need to restrain her, but just enough to lower her voice a fraction. "The people will have their way, brother. When oppression proves unending, up shall rise the people. History foretold it, and shall watch it come to pass." Now that, there, was an incitement. Because as soon as one of the guards moved to gather her, all hell broke loose.

She had started a riot. Because all it took was injustice, to anger an entire crowd.

In the chaos, she slipped out, gone in the split second the guards had turned their attention elsewhere. She despised crowds, but one thing was for sure. They made it easy to be forgotten.

@croccin-champagne

((normally she would have gotten her dumb ass arrested but i'm pretty sure it's necessary for the plot that she gets away lmao. if you want me to have her arrested, just say the word and i can do so!))
