Cat turned on the computer. She worked on some class work she missed. She stayed silent though not even looking at Lotus. She wasn’t even sure why she was here.
Cat turned on the computer. She worked on some class work she missed. She stayed silent though not even looking at Lotus. She wasn’t even sure why she was here.
Lot continued to work finding some enjoy in programming their game despite their current unwelcome company with Cat. They loaded up the game finding great success when it worked like they'd hoped it would.
Cat glanced at Lotus’ screen. She bit the inside of her cheek. “What are you working on?” She asked.
Lot didn't respond. Cat didn't deserve a response in their mind and so they didn't say anything. Just went back to programming.
Cat bit her lip. Watching Lotus work. She knew she wasn’t going to get a response but she still waited in silence.
Lotus worked a little bit longer before saving and closing everything up. They put everything away and stood up silently before going to leave the computer lab.
Cat stayed in the lab a bit longer. Turning back to her own computer. She didn’t look back at Lotus as she left.
Lot left and went over to their next class. They let out a long breath and went into the class sitting in their usual spot.
Cat left school. She knew her foster parents probably got a call saying she skipped but she didn’t care. She wasn’t sure where she was going so she just wandered around.
Lot finished up their day and went straight home. They had thought about talking to the teacher but decided that it wouldn't be smart. They already had too many eyes on them.
Cat went to work after just wondering around town for a few hours. This helped her fight the urge to write on her arm. She even tried to scrub off the words on her arm so no one could see them in her short sleeved uniform. They faded slightly but where still there.
Lot looked to see the marks faded and was glad for it. They didn't want to see the marks, they were at home typing away. Their sister was in the room with them just offering silent comfort that Lot didn't know they needed.
Cat worked she looked at her arm once in awhile. She was hoping for something but she also wasn’t sure what she even expected to see. She messed up and there was no way to fix it.
Lotus ended up breaking down eventually. All their fears came true and the slight spark of hope they had had extinguished. Muah ended up coming over and hugging their crying older sibling. She may be the younger pne but she was going to find whoever did this and they were going to pay.
Cat sat down in the break room and stared at her arm. She had a pen in her pocket but she didn’t touch. She hated how worked up she was about this. Usually she’s able to shove things aside and pretend they didn’t happen but she couldn’t with this.
Lotus eventually opened up and that only seemed to make their younger sister further upset. Lot finished their story with a shaky breath, "Don't try anything okay? You'll, you'll probably only make it worse."
"How can I do nothing?" Myrah responded her voice growing loud and dramatic, "She didn't respect your wishes and worse she caused you to have a panic attack by siding with those lying jetks becuase she didn't like your decision about the whole soulmate issue! She's fucking awful and needs to be taught a lesson."
Lot bit their lip and said quietly, "I can handle it My."
"I'm sure you can," Muah responded, "But J want to get my own words in."
The pen came out at one point. She tapped it on the table and tried to focus on the YouTube video on her phone. Since she didn’t go back to the house after school it was on the brink on dying but she didn’t care.
Lot laughed a little as they wiped at their eyes, "I know, but I still don't want you interferring okay? I'm just going to ignore her until the go."
Muah sighed, "Fine. If that's what you want."
"It is," Lot nodded along.
Cat went to draw something on her hand but stoped after just one line. She quickly put her pen away and ended her break.
Lot felt the tingle and looked to their hand to see a single line. They let out a soft sigh and looked to Myrah, "I'll be fine by myself okay?"
"Whatever you say sib," Muah responded with a small smile, "I'll be in my room working on a watercolor if you need me."
Cat waited tables. She knew she’d actually have to go to her classes tomorrow so she made sure to catch up on her missing work once she was at the house. She ended up sketching and got some random pen and marker marks on her hand. She washed most of them off.
Lot felt a tingle ever so often, but ended up ignoring it finishing up everything and taking a few new commissions. They needed something to do to take their mind off everything.
Cat finally fell asleep after a few hours. She watched her arm the majority of the time. She tried to distract herself but her mind drifted to Lotus right before she passed out.
Lot fell asleep at their desk working on programs. It was all they could do to keep themselves feeling okay.
Cat got to class just on time the next morning. She walked into class and scanned the room to see if Lotus was their yet. She had to still wear a bit of makeup to cover up her slowly fading bruise.
Lot was already in class as their punctual self. They saw Cat enter and looked back to their open laptop. They were hard at work on the commission they took last night.
Cat walked over and sat near Lotus. It just so happened to be one of the only seats left anyway. She took her notebook out of her bag.
Lot stayed quiet as they kept working until class started to which they closed the laptop and paid attention. They didn't look towards Cat at all.
Cat focused on the teacher. She knew that Lotus was ignoring her but Cat was determined to make that hard.
Lot had no problem not looking at Cat. They were too focused taking notes and such.
