(true… I guess that's fine then. But I still kinda want to make his past love a ghost if that's ok.)
His smile grew slightly at the touch.
( yeah just one he can touch and see please)
She stroked her cheek with his thumb
(Sure. No problem.)
(Thx)
Lysander slowly moved his hand around her waist.
”Lysander…”
Betty froze she could've sworn she heard something.
Lysander also froze, pulling away slightly. He could have sworn… No, it was impossible. Right?
”Lysander? C'est vraiment toi?”
He sat up swiftly at the question. ”D-did you hear that?”
" Betty scooted farther away looking around the room
”Qui es-tu? Où es-tu?” Lysander asked slipping back into his native language.
”Lysander! C'est toi! Je suis ici.” The voice was clearer now but still soft and had an odd echo to it.
Betty slowly stood from the bed and sat by the window staring at her phone
”That voice…” Lysander whispered in shock. ”Marie? But you're dead. I visited your grave the night you were buried.” he said, remembering that painful moment.
”Qu'est-ce que tu dis? Je ne te comprends pas.” Marie answered in clear confusion.
she stood up Bettys breath gor caught I her throat as her eyes turned white those two kissing loving each other then Betty and.lysanders wedding wasn't there he had changed his mind or something because Betty sat there all alone her eyes stayed white as she stumbled back
”Soyez prudent mademoiselle.” Marie said gently as she caught Betty as she slipped. ”Est-ce que tu vas bien?” she asked in concern as the very pale woman saw Betty’s white eyes.
Lysander had also stood up by now and was staring at both of them in shock. He was relieved that Betty seemed ok but Marie… She looked just the same as he remembered her. The same warm chocolate brown eyes, the same long light brown hair… the biggest difference was that now, she was much more pale than he was, and if you looked carefully you could actually see through Marie.
As marie touched her more visions came tears started rolling down her cheeks she quickly grabbed her phone off the nightstand and started to leave the room
”Betty? What's wrong?” Lysander asked as he noticed her crying. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder and cupped her cheek with the other.
”Je suis désolé. Je ne voulais pas t'énerver.” Marie said clasping her hands in front of her chest, taking a few steps back.
She pulled her face away from his hand kind of pushing him away there were tears still running down her cheeks and her eyes were white still
“Hey, hey.” He said softly as he gently pulled her into a hug. ”It’s alright.”
Marie sighed quietly, concerned for the blonde woman and a little wistful at seeing that Lysander hadn’t changed from the caring boy she grew up with.
She pushed him away she didn't want to be in his arms more visions came and she tried to leave again
Lysander was a little surprised as Betty pushed away from him. ”Betty, please. What’s wrong?” he begged.
Marie looked around the room in a small attempt to give the two some privacy.
" I can't be here with you with her not after I know what actually happens" she sobbed
Lysander raised a brow slightly. ”After what happens? Betty, at best, Marie is just an old friend now. It's been four centuries since… since she died. I understand if you need some space but I don't want you to worry.” he explained calmly, very sure of the situation between him and Marie.
Marie didn't understand what they were saying. She was actually confused by a lot of the things she was seeing here.
" I've seen it Lysander " she said starting to take her ring off
”What did you see? Wait, what are you doing?” he asked a note of concern entering his voice as he gripped her hands to stop her motions.
" I saw myself getting hurt again by a guy I thought was everything but turns out wasn't any better than any of the others"
Lysander looked at her in confusion as she explained. He looked at their hands then back at her. ”Me?” he asked softly, a little skeptical. ”Betty, I love you but I… I honestly think that you are letting your fear of our future control what you see. I know I don't really know how your power works but when you first told me about it; you said they always come true. From what I have seen and heard about them, they don't always.” he said gently.
"they change" she said.
He hummed in agreement. He knew he didn't have her gift but he knew that the future wasn't set in stone. He had seen beliefs about what was right and wrong and how to live change so many times, it almost made his head spin. ”Eternals don’t.” he said finally. ”That’s why we're called that. I know how I feel about you and I have never felt this way with anyone else. I know I never will. Please give me a chance to change it back for you.”
