Killian sighed softly. "Alright. I uhm…" he opened his eyes again, trying to figure out what to tell her. He didn't know. He really had no idea what to say.
Killian sighed softly. "Alright. I uhm…" he opened his eyes again, trying to figure out what to tell her. He didn't know. He really had no idea what to say.
”Yes?” Jade asked giving him an encouraging smile. She didn't want to pressure him but who knew when the next time they would get to be alone like this would come around. Sure, she had his number but she mostly intended to keep that for emergencies… She almost laughed at the irony but held back.
Killian frowned a little. "I…once used a spell against someone who pissed me off, so that every time he took a step, his foot landed in dog shit." He shrugged, laughing a little.
Jade burst out laughing at his confession. It wasn't exactly what she had been expecting… Actually, she wasn't sure what she had been expected him to tell her but… ”Oh my God. You can really use your magic for just about anything, can’t you?” she managed to say around her fit of giggles.
Killian grinned. "Yes." He replied, laughing. "I can indeed." He smiled at her.
Jade smiled broadly in return as she calmed down and wiped away a stray tear. ”I’m very glad you never did that to me.” she chuckled. ”I can’t imagine going through that for even a minute.”
Killian laughed a little. "Mm. I wouldn't do that to you. Just to people who piss me off and deserve to walk in dog shit."
Jade raised a brow slightly. ”I really never pissed you off? With the number of times I beat you as a hero?” she asked.
"You pissed me off, but not enough for dog shit." Killian replied with a laugh.
Jade nodded. ”Good. That guy must have been a complete ass to deserve that.”
"Yeah." Killian agreed with a laugh. He shrugged a little.
Jade smiled a little and leaned back against the couch. ”Seriously, how are you a villain with your nature?” she asked, blushing immediately after. ”Sorry. You don't have to answer that.”
Killian blinked, then gave an eloquent shrug. "I don't know." he replied with a laugh. "I just am. I have questionable morals."
Jade gave a soft hum as she hadn't expected him to answer at all. ”Not that I have seen lately.” she told him carefully. She knew that he had a rough past because of his father and the juvie record, but everything else about him that she had been getting to know about him didn't seem like a villain.
"I literally just told you that I made someone step in dog shit for days just because they pissed me off. How is that not questionable morals to you?" Killian replied, raising his eyebrows.
”I didn't mean about the morals.” Jade shook her head. ”I agree that your methods are a bit… questionable but you always have a reason for your actions. Nothing is completely random with you.”
Killian shrugged. "That's because I'm not insane, Jade. Everybody has a reason, unless they're insane."
Jade sighed. ”A valid reason, then.” she suggested. ”It may be considered vindictive but or just being a jerk but it's not…” she shrugged, ”ya know.”
Killian shrugged a little. "Mm. If you say so." He replied, raking a hand through his hair.
Jade sighed but let the topic drop. She didn't want to start a debate on morality with him. That was better suited for when they were ”working”. She picked up the tv remote and turned to him. ”You mind if I put something on?”
Killian blinked. "Hm? Oh. Not at all." He replied with a smile.
Jade smiled back and clicked on the tv, flipping past the news and through a few other channels. Finally, she stopped on one that was playing The Librarian. And it was first of the trilogy too!
Killian settled one arm over the couch. "What is this?" He asked, raising his eyebrows a little.
”Oh. It's called The Librarian: Quest for the Spear.” Jade smiled. ”It's actually the first part of a trilogy. I haven't seen any of them in a while but they're really great. There's even a tv series based on this but I lost track of that a while ago.” she shrugged.
"Oh. I've never heard of it." He replied with a soft laugh. "But I guess we'll see how it is."
”It’s really good.” Jade assured him. ”It’s got a little bit of everything in it. Magic and myths, science and facts, history, romance, action and a bit of comedy.” she smiled excitedly. ”I could honestly watch it all the time.”
Killian smiled. "Alright." He replied, and turned his attention to the TV again, quiet.
Jade smiled and leaned up against him as she enjoyed the movie.
(Sorry it's short. Have you actually seen that movie?)
Killian was quiet. He put an arm along the couch above her, smiling a little.
(it's fine. No sorry)
Jade ignored the initial embarrassment from leaning on Killian and let herself enjoy the contact. Maybe letting herself dream like this right now wouldn't actually hurt this time. She knew it wouldn't last but… there wasn't anything wrong with being friends with him right now. Right?
(Oh, too bad. I highly recommend the trilogy.)
