"Sooner rather than later.." said Eclipse softly, "He can't escape on his own… he can't walk.."
"Sooner rather than later.." said Eclipse softly, "He can't escape on his own… he can't walk.."
Errol blinked, eyebrows drawing together. "What do you mean? He's had problems with that left leg for about a year now, but he should be able to walk, if limping."
"They tore it open again.." he said softly, "They burned me, and hurt him." his fists clenched at the still fresh memory.
Errol inhaled, and let it out again in a quick breath. "Oh." he said faintly. "I fixed…I fixed all of your wounds, but…he doesn't respond to healing magic very well. Something about the curse, I think." he touched the stub of his left hand, shaking his head a little.
Eclipse nodded, cursing quietly to himself, "Thank you for healing me, at least.." he said softly, noticing his left hand again, but deciding not to ask.
Errol stood up, the sleeve of his shirt hiding the stub as he did. "I'll go get Aron. He's in charge." he said. He left the tent, and Aron came in a few minutes later, sitting down on the chair and looking at Eclipse.
"So." he said after a long moment. "Nik's with Seren. Errol filled me in." he dragged a hand through his hair. "Do you think you could show us back to the camp?"
Eclipse watched as the other came in, hoping he wouldn't be mad. "Possibly.." he said softly, "It depends… I was pretty out of it when I ran.." he sighed, "I could probably scout for it though, and lead you back then.."
(i gtg to bed soon. Good night!)
Aron nodded. "Right." he sighed softly. "This is shitty, you know that? We finally start negotiating peace, and then this shit happens." he shook his head.
Eclipse nodded, "This whole thing is messed up on many levels." he agreed, "I mean, soulmates with the Kevran prince…. I never would've expected that to happen.." he sighed, "I shouldn't have left him… we could both be safe.."
Aron shook his head. "No, because now we have you." he replied, folding his hands together and looking at Eclipse. "You can help us know where to start looking, and if necessary…you can take over both countries."
Eclipse tensed at that, knowing the other was right. "You would trust me to do that?" he asked softly, ery aware of the tension between their nations.
"Do I have a choice?" Aron replied with a sigh. "You're Nik's soulmate, which means eventually the two kingdoms would have become one anyways." he clasped his hands together, looking at Eclipse. "And if it isn't you, it'll be the king's bastard half-brother, which nobody wants to happen."
Eclipse sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he pulled all his knowledge of politics back out of the gutter. "Your kingdom might not be the only one in trouble if we're talking about succession…" he said finally, "With my father gone, the nobility will be thrown out of balance, and different clans will try and vie for power. Many have been saying that I'm not capable of succeeding the Nightfang clan's throne," he laughed wryly, "Even my father said that, and that could cause problems.."
"We'll back you, for whatever that's worth." Aron replied immediately. "Even Lieze will, and she…hasn't had the best treatment at the hands of the Tesh." he gave a wry, half bitter smile. "But our priority is finding Nikolas, before we do anything else."
Eclipse grimaced at the mention of Lieze. "Seren mentioned what had happened to her…. It probably doesn't mean anything, but I'm honestly ashamed that my countrymen would do that…" he said softly, Though it could also be that I was threatened with the same fate… he chided himself. "And I understand the priority. I want to find him too.." he sighed, "But at some point we're going to have to go back and make sure the kingdoms aren't falling into chaos… because the more chaos there is, the more likely it is that whatever plan Seren has, is gonna work."
Aron shrugged a little. "Your country doesn't have female soldiers. Or if you do, I've never seen one. They treated her as a defenseless woman instead of a prisoner of war. She was there for a month. Nikolas…when he found her and what had been done to her…he killed every Tesh soldier in that camp." He replied slowly. "And yes, I know. Errol and Ryker will be heading back to the capital to deal with that."
(OMG I THOUGHT I POSTED I'M SO SORRY)
(it's fine, don't worry about it)
Eclipse sighed, running his hands through his hair. "I know Nik trusts you, therefore I do." he said softly, "I don't mean to speak injustice to your kingdom, but I also have to look out for mine." he took a long pause, thinking about hat he was going to say. "I don't want to leave Nik behind, but I have to think about my own kingdom. There will be chaos if I don't return and take control. But I can't leave Nik without at least trying. I'll scout for the camp as soon as I've eaten, and we'll see if we can rescue him, but if we can't… then we'll have to leave him for now.."
Aron nodded sharply. "I understand. If we don't find him today, we will alert you when we do." He replied calmly. "Kevra will be fine. Worry about your country."
Eclipse sighed, nodded quietly. The whole thing upset him, but that didn't need to be said. Anyone could see it in his eyes. "Who will be staying to search with you?" he asked, "And would you welcome any assisting forces?"
"We'll see who stays and who goes. I know I'm staying for sure. As for assisting forces…it depends on the forces." Aron replied with a shrug.
"Tesh forces." said Eclipse, "Not all of them were with the idea of the war, I know one of the noble clans that would be willing to help" he hummed, "That, and I may as well say this now, but ironically, a few of our noble clans aren't exactly human…" he hummed, "My family in particular."
(I'm involving my worldbuilding cause I can)
Aron blinked slowly, and nodded. "I see." He said slowly. "Alright. Well, their help would be appreciated."
(Alright lol)
Eclipse nodded, "I'll see what I can do then." he said, moving to get up, "Now, is there food anywhere?"
"Alright." Aron stood. "Yeah. Come on." He replied. He smiled a little, and led Eclipse out of the tent.
Eclipse got to his feet, glad he could walk without pain once again. "Thank you" he said softly, following him outside.
"Of course." Aron led him to another tent. "Food is all in here. So is water. I'll be back. I need to talk with the others, plan out what we're going to do." He nodded to Eclipse, then left.
Eclipse nodded, still finding it strange that they trusted him so easily. But nonethless, he wasn't going to argue with food. Making himself a sandwhich, and grabbing a canteen he headed back outside.
Aron, Lieze, Errol, and Ryker were all standing together and talking quietly. Errol was hand in hand with Ryker, leaning against him a little.
