Killian sighed, looking away from her. "Well. Your roommate is…quite interesting." He commented, raising his eyebrows a little.
Killian sighed, looking away from her. "Well. Your roommate is…quite interesting." He commented, raising his eyebrows a little.
”That’s putting it nicely.” Jade huffed with a very red face. ”I'm sorry about her. She has very little self-control around men. But for some reason, she keeps me grounded. I don't know why but she does.” she sighed and made her way to the couch, collapsing against it.
Killian laughed softly. "It's fine, Jade." He replied. He sat down beside her. "And yeah, I get what you mean." He frowned suddenly. "You know, I don't have a ride home." He realized.
”Thank you for understanding.” Jade smiled tiredly at him. ”I thought of that a while ago.” she said pulling out the key to her bike. ”Just leave these in the ignition when you get home. He’ll know what to do.”
Killian nodded. He took the keys and put them in his pocket. "Alright. Thank you." He said with a smile, looking at her.
”You’re welcome.” Jade smiled, closing her eyes for a moment.
Sophie walked back into the room, finally wearing a short skirt and a dark blue tank top. Though she paused and watched the scene in front of her and smiled softly to herself. Good for you, girl.
Killian smiled at Jade. He stretched a little.
Her eyes still closed, Jade felt him shift against the couch and found herself leaning comfortably against him. What are you doing to me? she sighed softly.
Sophie wasted no time in pulling out her phone and snapping a couple of pictures. She had never seen her roommate so relaxed. Not even when she was asleep.
Killian hesitated, then put an arm around her shoulders, holding her gently. He looked at her with a soft smile, wondering at the fact that she trusted him so easily.
Sophie took another picture in shock at how comfortable the two looked together. ”Is she sick or something?” she asked raising a brow.
”No, I'm not sick, Soph. I just got a migraine earlier.” Jade sighed, finally opening her eyes. ”And if you take one more picture; I’m erasing everything on your phone.”
Killian chuckled at Jade's threat, but didn't say anything. He looked at her, then at Sophie.
Sophie raised a brow at Killian’s laugh. ”Strong silent type, huh?” she smirked before looking at Jade confused. ”So you left your bike behind? He must be a great driver with a nice car.”
Jade rolled her eyes. ”Knock it off. Actually, he is a good driver. As for being quiet right now, maybe you’re making him uncomfortable.” she suggested though the thought of Killian being uncomfortable because of Sophie didn't seem very likely to Jade.
Killian wrinkled his nose. "Nah, we drove her bike." he replied. "And why on Earth would she be making me uncomfortable?" he asked Jade. He looked at Sophie again.
Jade just shrugged at his question. ”I don't know. You're just not usually that quiet unless you're thinking of something.”
”Waitwaitwait…” Sophie stared in complete shock at them. ”You drove her bike?” she asked pointing at each of them. ”Damn, dude. When’s the wedding?”
”SOPHIE!” Jade blushed furiously.
"I am thinking of a great many things." Killian replied to Jade, wrinkling his nose again. He raised an eyebrow at Sophie. "I never said I drove her bike. But…I did." he rolled his eyes. "There is no wedding. We're just friends."
”If she had a migraine then she wouldn't have driven so you didn't have to say it.” Sophie pointed out. ”I have been her roommate for a long time…”
”Two years.” Jade corrected.
”And she had never let me even touch her bike.” Sophie continued, ignoring Jade’s interruption. ”How long have you known each other?”
Killian thought for a moment. "Two weeks at the most?" he replied with a shrug, glancing at Jade. He wasn't going to count the year or so that they had been enemies. That would be difficult to explain to Sophie without giving away what he and Jade were.
”TWO WEEKS?!? And she let you drive her bike?” Sophie asked complete shock. ”Jade! What the hell!?!”
”We’ve known each other longer than that, ” Jade argued. ”but we’ve only been friends for two weeks. I only called him an old friend over the phone that night because I didn't want you to worry, Soph.”
Killian looked between the two, and let out a soft chuckle.
”Not very reassuring but he's cute so I’ll let it go.” Sophie smirked, teasing. ”How do you know each other?”
”We work together on occasion.” Jade said flawlessly.
Killian cleared his throat softly, and nodded in agreement. He was still quiet, letting Jade handle this. She would be able to say things her roommate would believe far better than he could.
”Oh? You mean the one you rarely talk about?” Sophie asked rolling her eyes briefly before her phone went off. ”Crap. Look, I gotta finish getting ready for a hot date so I’m just going to end this with a warning.” she said looking at Killian. ”You hurt Jade and I’ll break your legs.”
”Who’s the guy this time?” Jade asked, ignoring the threat, for now, to keep from laughing at the mental image.
Killian arched an eyebrow at Sophie. "You're welcome to try." he replied. "And I wouldn't hurt her."
Sophie raised a brow in return. ”Don’t tempt me, honey. I’ll hold you to that.” she said as she walked back to her room. ”Ethan Howl. New guy, just met him a few days ago at some bar I can’t remember the name of, when I was… Uhh winning at pool.”
Jade rolled her eyes. ”You were hustling again? Sophie, we talked about this.” she sighed before freezing for a moment. ”Ethan Howl?”
Killian frowned a little, thinking. He looked at Jade, then Sophie.
”Yeah. Why? Do you know him?” Sophie asked from her room.
”I don't think so… I just…” Jade shook her head, nervous. ”Just want you to be careful alright. I know you're going to say you can handle yourself, but… I don't want anything to happen to you, ok?”
”I’ll be fine, Jade. I’m taking my pepper spray, that one taser you got me and a spare you-know-what, just in case.” Sophie said with an audible smirk.
Killian frowned again, thinking about what they were saying and not quite sure why Jade was so nervous. Was he foregetting something?
Jade leaned against Killian, knowingly this time. Her mind was starting to act up again and it wasn't just the aftershock that she had been expecting. She needed to focus on something concrete to calm down. ”O-ok. Be back around two?” she said, her voice wavering very slightly.
”Whatever you say, mom.” Sophie quipped not concerned at all.
Killian gently rubbed her shoulder with his hand, his arm still around her shoulders gently. "Just be back around, two, miss, or you're grounded." he said with a faint teasing note in his voice.
Jade looked up at him with silent appreciation for his support while Sophie actually popped her head out of her room to look at Killian, a little surprised at him responding to their inside joke, before she burst out laughing. ”Wow! Wasn't expecting to get double-teamed. You two must work really well together.” she smiled.
Jade on the other hand just giggled, her nerves still not fully settled but she was doing better now that he was distracting her. ”Thanks, Killian. But trust me, me and Sophie have different two o'clocks in mind.” she smirked.
