"Well, so far I have been. But who says that won't someday change?" Who says I won't turn out like my father?
"Well, so far I have been. But who says that won't someday change?" Who says I won't turn out like my father?
Jade hummed in thoughtful acknowledgment. ”Well, everyone changes at some point or another in their lives but…” she paused. ”You know I can't see the future or anything but I highly doubt that you’ll change in a negative way.”
"We'll see, I guess." Killian replied with a shrug. He let out a soft sigh, shaking his head a little.
Jade picked up on his tone immediately, making it very easy for her to know what was going on in his head at this moment. ”You don't believe that, do you?” it wasn't really a question. ”You’re-” Don’t say it!!!! Of freaking course he's probably scared of changing for the worst!! She sighed to herself to keep her thoughts from being spoken. ”You’re stronger than you think of yourself. The fact that you're… concerned about that kind of possibility is proof of that to me.”
Killian snorted softly. "Yeah, we'll see." He replied. He shook his head again. "Just…can we talk about something else?" He asked, closing his eyes for a moment.
Jade bit her lip at his defeatist tone. She really wanted to help him but she knew she could only get so far if he put up resistance. Her brow furrowed slightly as she tried to think of a plan. ”Fine. What would you rather talk about?” she said simply.
Killian sighed. "I don't know. Uhm…what have you been up to today?" He replied slowly. He closed his eyes again.
Jade shrugged. ”Nothing exciting. Just being normal today… or as close as I can get.” she admitted. ”I might go out later for a ride. I have a few modification ideas I want to test out.”
Killian chuckled. "Ooh! You mean on your bike? Which has a crush on me?" He teased, grinning.
Jade laughed happily at the little joke. ”Yes, that one though I doubt he does. It's the only bike I have.” she smiled.
"No he definitely does." He replied with a smirk and a laugh. "And it's mutual." He was grinning, laughter coming out from his mouth.
She smiled broadly hearing him laugh. ”I never met a guy who was in love with someone else’s bike.” she commented rolling her eyes playfully. ”I almost feel like I should be a concerned mother since I built the bike.”
Killian grinned again. "Hmm. Well. Oh well." he replied with another laugh. "Be a concerned mother, if you must, but it won't throw me off." his voice was still teasing.
Jade chuckled. ”I can control the bike without being on it.” she warned matching his tone.
"That's not what I meant, but…that's terrifying." he replied, laughing again.
”How do you think I got my bike to your place the first time?” she asked. ”I wasn't able to drive it there that night.”
"I know, I know." Killian replied with a sigh. "I could kidnap it though." He smirked, chuckling.
(Gtg to bed. Good night!)
”You can try.” Jade challenged with a smirk. ”But I won't make it easy for you.” she promised.
(Good night!)
Killian smirked. "I could use magic to summon it to me." He countered. "Even your technology wouldn't be able to beat that."
Jade rolled her eyes. ”That may be true but you would have to know where it currently is beforehand or you could summon the wrong thing.” she pointed out. ”And I could just have it drive off and park somewhere else.”
"Hm." Killian sighed, tapping his fingers. "That's true. That's why I would have to do a tracking spell first, then."
Jade smirked. ”I’m going to have to be careful about letting you near my stuff from now on.” she sighed, running a hand through her hair.
Killian grinned. "You should be careful around me anyway, miss hero." He replied with a chuckle.
Jade shrugged. ”I’m not scared of you, Killian.” she said confidently. ”And excuse me, that was not a dignified nickname.” she snickered.
Killian smirked. "But it's a true one." he replied with another laugh. "And you should definitely be scared of me."
“Hypocrite.” she chuckled teasingly. ”Besides you already know one of my fears. I don't get scared of people.” Jade smiled.
Killian laughed again. "Mm. If you say so."
Jade chuckled in response but didn't say anything. Honestly, after everything that had happened lately there was one person that she was a little scared of now. But she couldn't let that affect her in any way.
Killian sighed softly. "Mm. Are you still there, Jade? Or did you fall asleep?" he asked teasingly.
”I’m still here.” Jade assured with a light laugh. ”We haven't been talking long enough for me to fall asleep on the phone. Actually, I don't think I've ever done that.”
