Skye woke up to a strangling heat and the uncomfortable rub of handcuffs on her wrists. She opened her eyes, remembering that she was in a truck, with a man driving in the front. "How much longer…" She murmured quietly. "Actually, we're about there," the man said, pulling up to a stop on the side of the dirt road. "This doesn't look like much of a camp." She said as they got out. "We're not there yet, we've got to walk a couple miles." Skye groaned, her head throbbing.

Ava rubbed her eyes, glad she'd convinced the driver to loosen her handcuffs a bit, she didn't even deserve to have them on! Opening her eyes, she looked around at the blurry world and remembered her glasses and pulled them out of her shirt pocket. Putting them on, the world around her came into focus. "Are we there yet?" she asked. The driver chuckled. "Welcome to the world, sleepyhead. Yeah, we just have to walk a bit over that direction," and he pointed towards the woods.

Romy’s eyes snapped open at the lack of bumping. She blinked and rubbed her eyes, vision focusing to see handcuffs on her wrists and kids all around her. The girl next to her spoke, but her head was still so fuzzy that she couldn’t make out what she was saying. Stumbling a little as they all got out, the bright sun seared into her retinas, making her whine a little and rub her eyes again. The heat was so prevalent that it felt thick and heavy, and the humidity made her sweat immediately. God she hated the heat.

Kopke’s hands were fastened tight behind his back, made sense because of what he’s done but he had refused to let them knock him out so he had been sitting against the cold uncomfortable wall of the truck for god who knows how long. He didn’t bother asking if they were almost there because he already heard the drivers murmuring about it. They then forced him out of the car and said to walk.

Sky glanced over to her right and noticed another prisoner and a guard marching across the desert about fifty yards away. She simply nodded to them and continued walking, her feet already hurting.

One of the guards pushed him slightly when he wouldn’t move, “Careful boys, because I bite.” He growled turning around to face the guards but then decided it wasn’t worth it, turned back around and walked like he had been ordered to do.

Ava fiddled with her hair, nervous about the camp. She wasn't supposed to be here! Or, at least according to morality. According to the law, this is where she needed to go. There were two others she could see, though she didn't know why they were sent here. Murder? She gulped. Please, I don't want to die! she thought.

Romy glanced over at the seemingly much older boy in concern (and okay maybe a little bit of fear). She wasn’t about to talk back to the guards here, but apparently this boy was much braver than she was. Obediently she followed the others, making sure she stayed close to the middle of the group. Being in the back have her anxiety, and she wasn’t going to be in the front. The middle was safe.

Skye smiled a bit but said nothing. She would have at least waved but her hands were cuffed behind her back. Up ahead she spotted a short woman with bright blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. "Welcome, campers!" She exclaimed enthusiastically. "I'm Gwen, your counselor."

"This is the site of our first camp. We'll be moving camps every few days, so don't get too comfortable," she scanned the delinquents carefully and picked up a bunch of backpacks. "Here's your bags. You can uncuff them, now." Skye let out a sigh of relief as the painful cuffs were removed and she stepped forward, grabbing a backpack.

Kopke blew some of his hair out of his face and sighed, he reluctantly looked around, his piercing eyes studying anyone they landed on. His hands eagerly waiting to be released.

Janie shook her hands a bit when she was uncuffed. "Thank God, my hands fell asleep." She said, laughing slightly. You can't do much, Janie. Just make the best of it. Make the best of it, and hope it works out.

The cuffs around Ava's wrists were roughly removed, and she looked away, not answering. Eyeing everyone else cautiously, she dashed forward grabbing a backpack and darting back.

Romy rubbed her wrists where the cuffs used to be, scowling at the red marks. She trudged forward and grabbed a bag, stepping back and squatting to dig through it. Mostly normal camping supplies. That was good. She could live like this. The heat might get a little annoying (read: unbearable) sometimes, but she just had to deal with that. The two people next to her were having a conversation, and she debated about joining. After a few seconds she thought, screw it, and spoke up. “I’m Romy.”

"Now here's the deal! You'll be here for ten weeks in the desert! You'll receive some help but most stuff is on you. That means starting fires, putting up tents, cooking, bathing, and getting clean water! If you try to run away, you're not going to get anywhere. There's nothing here for miles. So go ahead and run into the desert, cause there's nowhere for you to go and when we find you you're going to jail." Gwen paused, scanning them again. "Is that clear?"

Kopke finally decided to pick a bag and then proceeded to sit down and look in it seeing what could be useful to him.

"Ten weeks?" Kopke mused, "This should be hell-I mean totally lots of fun…yeahhh…" He rolled his eyes.

"Now you'll each find a tarp and some collapsible poles in your packs. This is your tent. You've got to figure out how to put up your tent before dark." Gwen gestured to the sun which was already growing low in the sky. "Let's get started."

Kopke smiled at the tarp and poles, he knew how to set this kind of stuff up so it should be a breeze.

Kopke glanced sideways at one of the girl's Janie and noticed the look of disdain on her face, "I could be of some assistance if you need it later," he said, deciding to finally talk to someone.
