Zara laughed before ducking back inside. She shook her head, getting some of the water out of her hair.
"That felt good!" Zara said as she plopped back into her desk. She took out the sour gummy worms she had got and ripped it open before popping a few in her mouth. She glanced at the clock.
"1 hour left before we leave. Should give us enough time to dry off before he comes back" She thought as she popped a few more gummy worms her mouth.
He easily slipped through the window, shaking his head flinging water all over the place, then sitting down in his desk, immediately getting out his moon pie and opened it with a smile.
"Do you do this all the time?"
He says turning to her as he took a bite of his moon pie. More than satisfied by simply the fact that he was able to get a hold of one. He wasnt about to let someone throw away a perfectly good moon pie. Even if it was squished. He loved it just the same.
"Yep!" Zara said as she wrung out her hair and flopped it over the desk behind her. "Though it usually isn't raining when I do it." She admitted as she ate a few more gummy worms before wrapping them up and putting them away before pulling out the pretzels and opening them.
"So," Zara said as she crunched on some pretzels. "Is this your only one this week?" She asked.
"unfortunately this hell lasts a whole week for me"
He says with a sigh, turning to his notebook and continuing to write his little story. Until he set it down and looked at her, his hair falling into his cute big eyes as he rests his cheek on his hand.
"what about you Hm?"
"Same boat!" Zara said as she propped her feet up on the desk in front of her. "And as much as it seems, a week isn't a very long time to be in detention." She said as she popped some more pretzels in her mouth.
"Want some?" She asked, holding out the bag for him.
"Uh…..sure?"
He says setting his pen down as he turned his body to her, while still in the desk. So he was going to be in detention with this maniac for a whole week huh? Exactly. But he had a feeling he wasn't going mind all that much.
Zara pulled the bag back once he grabbed some. She at a few more before pulling out her water and drinking some. She glanced at the clock.
”45 minutes left.” Zara thought.
”So what do you do usually?” Zara asked as she ate a few more pretzels.
"Uhm…..fight dragons"
He says almost sarcastically as he draws a little dragon on the side of his notebook. It was from one of his video games where he actually did fight dragons. At level 5983, he was a huge nerd. A powerful one at that.
Zara laughed loudly at that.
“Are you that good at fighting to do that?“ She asked, sarcastically. She could tell just by looking at this kid he wasn’t one to break rules often. She was guessing he was here either because some kids decided to give him a ’warm welcome’ to the school or he stood up for someone.
"I can fight well thank you. Why do you even think I'm in this place in the first place huh?"
He says posturing up, trying to seem confident and what he likes to call "badbass". He was a huge fan of cursing, though he did it sometime. Though he loves to find silly replacements. And he never would actually beat someone up. And he definitely could. He worked out and everything. So he always had the chance. But he was nice enough not to hurt anyone unless they were hurting someone he cared about.
But he wasn't going to let her know how nice he was. He would never actually admit that he was a nice person. Though he was failing at hiding that fact.
Zara scanned him over before snorting.
“I guessing that you didn’t do some punks homework, they beat you up and you got blamed for it.“ She said sarcastically as she put her pretzels away and got back out the gummy worms.
“You look about as scary as a bunny." She teased.
He laughed a little, then took a deep breath before releasing it,
"Number one, bunnies are cute. So….no. And number two, I would never do anyone's homework. Now that I'll beat someone up for"
He says jokingly. He would never ever in a million years beat someone up for not doing their own homework and trying to make him do it.
"Okay nevermind, I would do their homework. But! Not because they threatened to beat me up. But… oh nevermind. Anyway, you're incorrect and that's all there is to it."
He says looking at the clock then back at her.
"If you wanna know more just go ask the students. They seem to know what I did."
Zara chuckled.
“Back peddling are we?" She asked as she ate a few gummy worms.
“And as for why you’re here because some kids decided to give you a warm welcome to the school and stole your money. Was I right?“ She said as she leaned back a little.
"Well depends on who you're asking and who you're going to believe. If you're not going to believe me, then I have no reason to tell you."
He says taking a bit of his moon pie as a little smile appears on his face.
"Just so you know…." He says then swallowing "Youre missing out"
Zara stuck out her tongue in disgust.
"Those things taste like nothing but sugar and artificial chocolate. I don't like chocolate stuff anyways." She admitted as she ate a few more of her gummy worms. "Plus, I like sour stuff better."
"I could've guessed that easily"
He says finishing the last bite of his "artificial chocolate and sugar". Satisfied with what he got.
"Anyway, how long is this supposed to last again? I'm ready to go home already"
He lays his head on his arms resting on the desk, squishing the side of his cheek in a somehow adorable way as he looks up to her with his big eyes.
Zara turned around and looked at the clock, now sitting backwards with her feet hanging off the chair.
”About fifteen more minutes.” She said, watching the clock tick. ”He'll be back in about five minutes to let us out. He always does that.”
"How annoying…."
He says with a sigh, tempted to fall asleep right there and now. The silent ticking of the clock made him even more sleepy than before.
Adjusting his head in his arms, though still facing Zara, he closed his eyes, hoping to fall asleep.
Zara looked at him as his eyes were closed.
"He looks pretty cute." She mused to herself. "Don't fall asleep now!" She teased. "It's almost over!"
His eyes fluttering open with a sigh he looked at her. His eyes only half open.
"Come on…..just three minutes?"
He says quietly as he shut his eyes again, his hair falling in his face, covering only one eye.
Zara chuckled.
"Alright. Three minutes." She said smiling. She went look back at looking at the clock as she slowly started to hum.
He fell asleep almost immediately after she said that. His breathing quickly steadied as time passed. His lips cracked open ever so slightly. After a little bit the door swing open, and the man from earlier stepped in
Zara had already made sure she had hidden her food and drinks as well as Irens though he probably would be a bit surprised to wake up and find his moon pie gone. She nudged him awake.
The teacher took his place at the room. "You may now leave." He said, his voice sounding tired.
Zara began to gather up all of her stuff.
His head shot up quickly as he was nudged awake. Taking in his surroundings and piecing together what exactly was going on he started to gather up his things.
Leaving the room he reached in his pocket for his moon pie and his whole body stiffened.
He mumbles to himself in Korean something that even someone who knew the language couldn't understand by how quiet it was.
Zara gathered up her stuff and headed to the door, though stopping to wait for him.
"Are you coming?" She asked, looking back at him.
"Uhm….yeah. My moon pies went though"
He says with his voice filled with panic as he looked through all of his pockets and bags. What was he supposed to do without it!?
DIE!?
yep….thats what I'll do….ill just die
”It's right here.” Zara said as she pulled it out of her pocket. '”The teach was coming in and we're not allowed to have food.” She explained as they headed down the halls.
"Thank goodness! I thought i lost it forever"
He says putting his hand over his chest. He quickly found himself following the girl for whatever off tea so that's was.
"Thank you"
”You love that thing like a child.” Zara chuckled as they reached the main entrance. It was still raining, just very lightly now
"I've been told that about many things but moon pies haven't been one of them."
He says with a little smile, still walking with her. He stepped outside and looked up to the sky, opening his eyes as he looks up at the rain, lightly drizzling on his face, sending shivers down his spine.
