Zara pulled up her hood. ”Well see you tomorrow!” She said as she ran out into the rain, towards the run down part of town. She just hoped she would get home before it began to rain harder.
Zara pulled up her hood. ”Well see you tomorrow!” She said as she ran out into the rain, towards the run down part of town. She just hoped she would get home before it began to rain harder.
"Uhm….okay"
He says as he slowly starts to walk to his car in the parking lot of the high school. He didn't really want to drive today, he just ranted to enjoy the rain. Though he knew tomorrow morning he would want to drive. And there wasn't any other way to get hiss car home but to drive it.
"Oh well"
He says to himself as he hops in the car, starting it up and pulling out of the parking lot.
Zara splashed through puddles as she made her way back to her apartment. She slipped inside the lobby before heading up to the 4th floor and slipping inside her apartment. ”I'm home!” She yelled as she took of her soaking wet coat. He brother poked his head of of the kitchen. If you were to look at her brother and her side by side you would wonder if they were related. Unlike Zara her brother, Alyx, was very scrawny and pale. Zara had lighter skin but her brother looked like he hadn't seen the sunlight in years. He was also very tall. Zara reached about his shoulders. Then again he was two years older than her.
”Did you get in detention again?” He asked as he disappeared back inside the kitchen.
”Yeah! Got in a fight.” She said as she walked in and pulled out her gummy worms, pretzels and water. ”Got stuck with a nerd like you too!” She teased.
”Must of been nice for you. Please don't tell me your going to be in detention all week!” He said.
Zara made finger guns at him. ”You guessed it! Give this man a medal.”
Alyx laughed and dramatically ran his hand through his hair.
”What'd you do to get in detention for a week?” He asked.
”I broke a kids nose.” She said as she chugged her water bottle.
Alyx sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, pushing his glasses up as well.
”Go get in the shower.” He ordered, pointing towards the bathroom.
Zara threw her water bottle away as she exited the kitchen.
Isuel pulled up to his big house with a sigh. His mom was most likely going to be there. Which he wasn't excited about one bit. He opened the door as it was still drizzling rain from the fluffy dark clouds above, casting a shadow over a small part of town. Including where he was. He stepped into a puddle and with no reaction, he shut the door, went around the car and up to his house. Stepping onto the white porch that was obviously not wooden. But nobody could ever put a finger on what it actually was. Knocking three times then opening the door, his mother was in the main "lobby" of the house.
"Hello dear!"
She says walking up to him with a big smile. Stunningly bright teeth shown through her big smile. Her lips covered in red lipstick, and the rest of her face caked in makeup as always. His mother was tall standing at 6 feet exactly, while his dad was only 5'11. Isuel was only half Korean and half American. He inherited his dad's as ain looks other than the height which he got from his American mother. Her honey brown hair was pulled up in a tight slicked back bun. A red fitted skin-tight dress with sleeved down to her elbows, though showing her freckled shoulders, the little diamonds shimmering and reflecting off of the lights from the huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling with every move she made.
"Hello Hasely."
He says calmly as he made his way over to the stairs, avoiding her widespread arm inviting him in for a big hug. He never addressed any of his relatives by titles such as mom, or dad. It was just how he was raised. He then made his way upstairs to his room. The plain white room with a huge glass window as a wall on one side. Huge white lacy curtains pulled open on each side. He looked around the room and sighed, running his hand through his hair. He was definitely exhausted, that was for sure. He dropped his bag on the hardwood floor of his room, next to the nice black and white oval rug beside his bed near his desk. He turned around and walked out, grabbing a fresh pair of clothes. A sweater and some clean, not wet pair of jeans and walked over to the bathroom. Pulling his black sweater off along with the rest of his clothes, he turned on the freezing cold water and stepped in. He couldn't not take cold showers. His skin was really sensitive to heat.
(Tem skip to next school day?)
(Yep! Maybe a little in the morning. Like maybe they run into each other on their way or something. Then maybe to lunch?)
(Makes sense.)
Zara finish her breakfast, which was only a pop-tart, and threw on her bag. She had forgotten that today was Tuesday and Alyx couldn't drive her to school since he had robotics club. She rushed out of the apartment and down the street. After she was out of her neighborhood she slowed down a bit, catching her breath.
Isuel woke up to his mother pestering him about school. Not in a rude way, more a caring motherly way. Which she tried way too hard to be. She definitely wasn't meant to b a caring sweet mother. She was always better in the business department. And Iseul's mother was well aware of that.
"What're you doing? Go away"
He says sitting up, his mother was standing by the bed with breakfast. Though it was only a single piece of bacon and one piece of bread. She didn't know how to do anything, did she? The correct answer is no. No, she didn't. But he took it and quickly got ready. And soon he was in his car driving to school when he spotted someone.
that's not……no its not….wait
He thought to himself as he slowed the car down to see Zara?! He rolled down the window with a sigh.
"Uhm…do you need a ride?"
He says a little nervously. Hopefully, she would pull out a gun and shoot him in the face. And he wasn't usually someone to do things like this but this was the scariest person in school! If he was getting the chance to get on her good side, he won't miss it.
Zara looked up at see Iren. She looked up at the sky. The sky was dark with clouds and looked like it would rain soon.
“Hell yeah!“ She said as she hopped into the passenger seat.“Thanks!“ She fiddled with the seat for a bit. “This car looks expensive as hell! How did you afford this?“ She asked.
"Rich family has its perks i guess"
He says rolling down his window a little and started driving again. Relief filled his chest at her reaction. He thought she might just keyed his car right then and there.
(Sorry it's short)
"That explains why you were heading from the north part of town then." Zara said. "But I think you went a little to far south. The school is that a way." She said pointing over his shoulder.
He stopped the car then made a U-turn with a sigh. "right….. sorry I must be tired" He says with a little laugh.
He was mostly shaking at the thought of what she's probably going to do to him. As far as he knew, everyone had only two sides. One minute they were nice and the other they were the devil themselves.
Zara chuckled.
"How tired are you?" She asked as she dug through her bag, looking for something but obviously failing to find it.
"uhm…. i didnt get much sleep last night. About…. two hours? If that says anything"
He says with a little laugh, trying to distract himself from his own thoughts.
Zara eventually found what she was searching for in her bag. A lighter. She absentmindedly flicked it on and off. "Why?" She asked. Well it´s not like she could say she was doing much better. She had around the same amount. She had to finish her homework.
Unlike Zara, he always finished his homework way before he got home. He saved that time for trying to hide the fact that he had got beaten up a few hours before.
"Uhm….i just couldn't sleep…"
He says a little quieter than usual. That was a lie of course.
Zara looked at him. "Don't lie to me. I can tell when someone is spouting BS." She said as she kept flicking the lighter. Once she played a game of chicken with herself to see how close she could get her hand to the fire.
"It's none of your business….and….please stop playing with fire in my car. It's brand new…"
He says paying attention to the road. His head started to pound and he immediately regretted telling her that it's none of her business. Now mentally preparing himself for a best-down, he sped up the car so he would get to school sooner. Hopefully, if she did beat him up, it wouldn't be in his car.
Zara gave him a look and lit the lighter again. She decided to let it go…for now. She put the lighter in her pocket and sat back.
"Sorry," he says quietly as they stop at a red light, a big semi driving in front of them. A train going off in the distance, the loud sound ringing in his ears, making him plug his ears as he took his hands off of the steering wheel. It was noticeable that it hurt him. Like all loud things.
Zara noticed this. She was good at spotting peoples triggers. One of her favorite subjects was Physiology and she often had intense conversations with her brother on it. Her mind immediately went to past trauma and she began thinking abuse, whether family or otherwise.
“You good?“ She asked, looking at him.
His head popped up from his forehead was pressed against the top handle of the steering wheel. He looked at her, then the light as it turned green and he hit the gas.
"Uh….yeah. It's nothing. Sorry"
He says bracing himself for a punch in the face once again.
Zara furrowed her eyebrows and leaned a bit closer to him.
“Are you sure about that?“ She asked, not believing him. He kept acting like a puppy that was about to be hit.
"Uhm….yeah," he says hesitantly as the train passed, another loud horn sounding through his ears. He tensed up, but he didn't cover his ears, hoping she would notice.
Zara got a bit angry at this but she would talk about it later. She ran her tongue piercing across her teeth, making a small clinking sound.
The train stopped and the light turned green. He quickly hit the gas and made his way to the school, slightly biting his lip as his eyes darted across the road. He normally wasnt like this. He was usually very calm and collected, and he might even be singing along to the radio as he drove. But he usually never had anyone hanging out with him. Though they weren't actually hanging out.
He just was never around people much.
Zara fiddled around with the lighter, though never actually lighting it. She wanted to get to school early. She had to check in with Ava and her bro before she headed to class.
They soon pulled up to the high school, parking and unbuckling his seat belt, he turned to her as he opened his door.
"Uhm…..i hope youre not late for anything. Sorry"
Zara quickly got out.
“Not too late. We'll talk later.“ She said, not looking as she rushed in to find Ava and Alyx. She went to their favorite meeting spot, outside of the science classroom. Ava, a brown haired girl, and her brother. Alyx turned to her and grinned.
“Did you forget I had robotics this morning? How late did you leave?“ He asked.
“Really late. I caught a ride.“ She explained. Ava laughed.
“He said he left you three notes. How did you miss them all?“ She asked.
He locked his car, hiding the key in a little hidden compartment on the outside of the car so nobody would steal it. He walked into the school, walking down the halls he saw Zara talking to her friend. He sighed and turned around, and was greeted by four guys standing in front of him with a devious smile.
"Excuse me, i need to get to class. If you would move that you be great"
He says with a blank face, trying not to act scared. He knew despite his efforts they were gonna pummel him.
