Cas shivered a bit again. "I think it's because I don't have any muscle or body fat to keep me warm…"
Cas shivered a bit again. "I think it's because I don't have any muscle or body fat to keep me warm…"
"I'd say you've gained a little for all the time you've spent here," he smiled softly. "Which is a good thing, by the way."
"Mmmm…" Cas hugged him tighter. "You calling me fat?" He asked in a mock offended voice.
His face heated up as he shook his head. "N–No, Cas, I could never. I wasn't trying to– I was just saying that you look… you look a bit more healthier than before…"
"Relax, baby, I'm not mad at you." Cas kissed him sweetly. "I'm just messing with you. I know I need to gain weight. I may not have any regard for my own safety, but I'm not stupid."
He pressed his lips against his and knotted his fingers into his hair. "I love you, you know that right?"
"I love you too, Sor…" Cas purred, though he winced a bit when he leaned up to kiss Sorin from the strain on his back.
He planted a quick kiss on his lips before lying his head down. "Easy," he adjusted the peas and firmly secured it.
Cas nodded, closing his eyes and growing tense until the jabs of pain faded. Then he relaxed a bit, though he still seemed tentative in his movements.
Sorin looked up at the ceiling, his other hand stroking his hair. He glanced at him from time-to-time to make sure he seemed alright and after what seemed like an eternity, he carefully set him aside. "I think the food's ready." He stood up and walked toward the kitchen.
"Okay." Cas waited a moment before getting up as well and following Sorin. He sat down at the table and yawned.
He grabbed two bowls and poured the stew in with the ladle. He hastily walked to the table carrying the two, not wanting to get his hand burned, and both of them down before retrieving spoons.
Cas just stuck a spoonful of stew in his mouth without thinking and almost had to spit out out. "Ow, shit… It's hot." He said after he'd swallowed the stew.
"That's why you blow it before you eat," Sorin poured him a glass of water. "Are you okay though?" He set the glass down in front of him and sat down next to him.
"Yeah, m'fine…" Cas sipped the water and blew on his next spoonful so it wouldn't burn him. "It's pretty good when it's not burning me."
"Why, thank you," A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he lowered his head to blow on his spoonful of stew.
Cas kept eating his stew, humming contentedly. He carried his bowl over to the sink when he finished and stretched, his spine crackling loudly from it.
He froze at the sound then rushed over to him. Sorin carried him to the couch, gently setting him down. "Are you okay?" He frantically examined him, trying to figure out what had been broken.
Cas seemed bewildered. "Uh, Sor?" He asked, confused. "What're you so worried about? I just popped my back."
He let out a sigh. "I thought you broke a bone…"
Cas thought for a moment, feeling his back. "Nope. Not broken as far as I can tell. Pretty sore still, though."
"I can take you to the doctor's if you'd like…" Sorin stayed silent for a moment and his eyebrows furrowed. "No, i'm taking you to the doctor."
"Sorin. We can't afford to go to the doctor. I'm fine anyways." Cas said simply, taking Sorin's hand.
"No, you're not. Your health and happiness are really important to me."
"I know that, baby, but that doesn't change the fact that we can't afford it… we're running low on money right now."
"That doesn't matter." Sorin squeezed his hand tightly.
"Sorin…" Cas looked up at him, still clutching his hand. "I don't want you to waste money on nothing."
" 'Nothing?' Cas you aren't 'nothing' your health isn't 'nothing'."
"I-I just mean I'm probably not seriously injured and a hospital visit isn't something we can afford to waste money on…"
"Yeah, yeah…" Sorin nodded softly. "I guess i'm overreacting… but are you sure you'll be okay?"
