"I dunno. What do we have?" Cas sat up, running his fingers through his hair.
"I dunno. What do we have?" Cas sat up, running his fingers through his hair.
"Beef, cheese… lettuce and some other vegetables."
"I don't think that was very helpful, um…" Cas thought for a minute. "Well, I'm not particularly picky, so you can just make whatever."
"I'll just make a beef stew and buy some more groceries when i'm done." He sat up and examined his cheek and neck. "Does that still hurt?"
"A little, yeah…" Cas rubbed his sore neck, wincing a bit.
Sorin threw the sheets aside and gently picked him up. He walked down the stairs carefully and set him down on the couch.
Cas just curled up on the couch when he was set down, still slow and sleepy. He yawned, rubbing at his eyes with one hand.
He adjusted the pillows to ensure that he was comfortable lying there before going to the kitchen. He quickly chopped up the vegetables and meat, not wanting to take long to feed Cas.
Cas slipped in and out of consciousness as he lay there, patiently waiting for Sorin to return for once.
Sorin poured them into a pot of water and turned on the stove. He knew it would take a while for it to boil so he headed to the living room to tend to Cas.
Cas hugged Sorin once he was close enough, purring. "I love youuuu…" He crooned contentedly.
"Aww, baby I love you too," Sorin squeezed him tight and lied him back down.
Cas pulled Sorin down by the collar of his shirt and kissed him, his ears still drooping from tiredness.
He smiled against his lips, delicately running his fingers along his forearm before they slid up to cup his cheek.
Cas nibbled at Sorin's lip before his ears pricked up and he pulled away, looking over at the kitchen with a curious expression.
"Hmm? What's wrong?" Sorin turned around to see a huge mass of steam emitting from the pot. He turned back to Cas. "It's not cooked yet. Meat takes a while to cook."
"The pot is making strange noises." Cas observed, cocking his head to the side a bit. The sound of the water boiling was hardly audible from where they were, but Cas heard it loud and clear.
He looked back at the kitchen again. "I don't hear anything." He looked at Cas curiously.
"It's… I dunno, like, hissing and bubbling or something." Cas shrugged. "It's weird."
"You mean boiling?" A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Cas, it's perfectly normal."
"Are you sure? I've never heard water hiss like that before." Cas looked back up at Sorin, but his ears kept twitching.
"Hiss?" Sorin tilted his head, narrowing his eyes on him as he raised an eyebrow. He shook his head. "No, no… I think it's normal."
"Maybe that's water hitting the stove… the stove doesn't like water." Cas hummed, glancing away again.
"No, no it doesn't Cas." He smiled and kissed the corner of his lips.
"It's so loud, though…" Cas flicked an ear and shook his head a bit to clear it.
"Hmm…not really. Though I suppose it's because you're a Neko."
"Yeah, my cat ears are really sensitive to sound. I can see in the dark pretty well too." Cas hummed, his ears never stopping their twitching.
He nodded in understanding and found a way to lie down next to him. "I'm sorry…" he shifted a bit so that he wouldn't be so close to the edge. "Look, I know it's not really my fault but I can't help but think otherwise."
"I know, baby… It's fine, whatever you're apologizing for." Cas cuddled up against him. "Aren't you supposed to keep an eye on boiling water, though?"
"Oh yeah, I should," he snuggled a bit closer to him so his face was mere inches away from his. "But I'd rather spend this time with you."
