"My eyes hurt." Cas hummed, taking another sip of the milk.
"My eyes hurt." Cas hummed, taking another sip of the milk.
"Oh, sweetie," Sorin took the milk from his hand and set it and the plate of cookies on the coffee table. He gently lied him down and covered him with the blanket. "Get some rest."
"Okay…" Cas closed his eyes after taking Sorin's hand in his own. He soon fell asleep with their fingers intertwined.
A large portion of him felt bad, not only for the fact that he was in pain, but he had caused it. If he hadn't taken him to the fair in the first place, he wouldn't have this problem and maybe if he had listened to him telling him how sensitive his hearing was, it wouldn't have gotten this bad. Sorin lied down next to him, not letting go of his hand and huddled closer to him.
Cas nuzzled against Sorin in his sleep, purring. He was able to relax now that he couldn't feel the pain, and he seemed pretty content. He'd actually quite enjoyed the fair, but bringing ear plugs might be wise for the next time.
He fell asleep with the hope that he would feel even better by tomorrow morning, not only because he didn't like seeing in pain, but because they had work tomorrow.
Cas woke up in the morning feeling alright. He waited for Sorin to wake up before doing anything. "What time do we need to go to work, love?"
"I don't know… like eight maybe?" he rubbed at his eyes and lied back down.
"What time is it?" He kissed Sorin's cheek softly.
Sorin sat up and narrowed his eyes at the kitchen clock. "Seven… no, eight…no…" He turned to Cas. "About a quarter till nine."
"Oh my god. Get up get up get up." Cas jumped to his feet and dragged Sorin up with him. "What are we supposed to wear?!"
"I'm pretty sure, Daniel'll give us our uniforms when we get there," he said nonchalantly as he got up and stretched.
"Well, then let's go! C'mon!" Cas pulled Sorin out the door and jumped into his arms.
Sorin let out a heavy sigh and rubbed at his eyes once more. He locked the door, holding the other tightly before he flew off.
Cas jumped to the ground once they got to the restaurant and dragged Sorin inside. "Where do we go now?
"You're late," the woman they had been approached by yesterday hurried toward them with two uniforms in her hand. "Here, try these on and if they don't fit, tell me."
"I know, we're very sorry…" Cas pulled on the uniform and looked down at the large, sagging clothes hanging off him. "Er… have you got anything smaller?" He asked quietly.
"Uh yes," she turned to Sorin. "And what about you?" He shook his head as his uniform fit him pretty well. He watched as the woman walked off and returned with another uniform. "This one is our… smallest size."
"Thanks." Cas tried it on and it fit him better. It was still a bit large at the waist on the pants, but he wasn't as worried about them falling down.
"Is it good Cas?" Sorin asked, glancing at Daniel coming their way.
"Yeah, it's alright." Cas suspected it might actually be a woman's uniform, but he wasn't too concerned as long as it fit.
"You're late," Daniel said, eyeing Sorin studiously. "We open this restaurant in what, ten minutes? Think I can train the two of you in less than that?" He turned to Cas, and instead offered him a reassuring smile as he put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, I know it's not your fault."
Cas just nodded, not wanting to push it any further. "We're very sorry, sir… it won't happen again." Cas bowed his head politely as an apology.
"Oh there's no need for that I know you're responsible enough to know when to get up for work," he shot a glance at Sorin. "Now, you see that woman over there?" He pointed to the same woman who had given them their uniforms. "Go help her set up the tables. She will be the one guiding you on what to do."
"Yes, sir." Cas went over to the woman. "Hello! I'm Cas. He said to help you set up tables?"
"Oh, yes," she smiled and dug her hand into her apron, pulling out a small match. "Do you mind lighting up the candles at the tables while I go get the tablecloth out the back?"
Sorin watched him go and smiled softly but his mood quickly turned sour once Daniel started snapping in his face. "I want you to stand behind that counter and greet me as though i'm a customer. Let's see how far your lack of social skills get you."
"Yes, ma'am!" Cas went over to the tables and managed to clumsily light the candles without setting himself or anything else on fire.
Sorin was getting frustrated by the minute with Daniel. He had managed to greet him well every time but his expressions said otherwise. "I don't understand what i'm doing wrong."
"You're not smiling. As a host, you are the first chance our restaurant has to make an impression. Don't make it a bad one Sorin, try again." Sorin sighed and watched as the woman handed Cas a large pile of tablecloth and he couldn't help but feel an urge to help him.
Cas stumbled under the weight of the tablecloths and watched the woman put one down before mimicking her. He did okay enough, but he figured he'd get better soon.
"Now that you're done, I want to start off by saying that I will be there to guide you through this whole bussing thing, okay?" She took a seat near one of the tables. "Now, you usually don't do anything when the customer first comes here but if you happen to see any empty plates, go take them to that kitchen over there," she pointed to the area behind her, "or you could hand them to me. As for cups, if their empty or almost empty, refill them. But always ask the guests first."
