Sorin stood up and pulled him onto his chest, knotting his fingers into his soft hair.
Sorin stood up and pulled him onto his chest, knotting his fingers into his soft hair.
Cas purred very quietly, still seeming a bit standoffish and nervous. He kept his hand up against his chest.
"I'm sorry."
Cas glanced up at Sorin from where he was, meowing softly.
"I wanted to do it because I love you. You know that right?" He cupped his cheeks and softly stroked his temples. "Never for the sake of hurting you just to hurt you."
Cas nodded a bit, closing his eyes when Sorin stroked him. "M-Maybe we could just, like… put a bandaid on it…"
"Yeah, we could…" Sorin didn't want to, though. He knew the blister on his finger wasn't that big of a deal, that he was overreacting, but he didn't want to risk it– especially after last night. He wanted to make sure Cas was healthy at all times.
"It'll probably pop on its own soon anyways, right… I-I'm pretty clumsy and all…" He murmured. "I just… don't want to associate you with receiving pain."
"I wouldn't…I wouldn't want that either…" He muttered.
"I don't wanna have to feel scared of you, love…" Cas buried his face in Sorin's chest. "Ever."
It was a nerve-racking ordeal he didn't want to think about. Sorin wrapped an arm around him and held him.
Cas slowly began to relax in Sorin's arms, purring again. "I love you…"
"I love you too," Sorin's hand found its way to his hair again.
Cas leaned into Sorin's hand, his ears falling to the side to make space for it.
Sorin's fingers worked through them, his thumb gently stroking his temples. He brought his lips down to his head for what seemed like the millionth time.
Cas whined and blushed when Sorin pet his ears, his tail twitching. He closed his eyes when Sorin kissed him and kept them closed.
He closed his eyes, his nose sliding down the bridge of his only to stop when it reached the tip. He kissed him, soft and brief, before pulling away.
Cas pulled him down to kiss him again, lingering longer this time. He let out a soft sigh, relaxed and content again.
"We should really get started on that reading lesson, you know," Sorin mumbled against his lips.
"Mmm… probably." Cas hovered near Sorin's lips for a bit before he reluctantly pulled away.
It was a struggle not to lean in, to have the feel of his soft lips connect with his again. He held his hand and walked him down the stairs.
"How are we learning this time?" Cas asked, sitting on the couch.
"Matching games," He dug his hand into the wide gap in the middle of the bookshelf and pulled out a Ziploc full of cards. Sorin had made them right before Berenice came in to attack the two– well, him specifically, the second time. "I'll say a word and you can put the letters together to how you think it's spelled." He opened the bag and placed the cards on the ground. "After I teach you vowels."
"Okay!" Cas took the cards and started arranging them in alphabetical order.
Sorin smiled at him as he sat down and began pointing to each of the letters, sounding the vowels out and teaching him the different ways each letter could be pronounced.
Cas sounded out the letters with Sorin, his tail occasionally thumping softly on the ground.
"Is there anything you want me to go over? Am I moving to fast for you?"
"I think I got it… I know the alphabet itself, I just struggle to put the letters together…" Cas played with the letter 'E'.
"So spelling is the issue…" Sorin held his hand and kissed his knuckles. "Let me know if I move too fast, okay?" He shuffled the letters around, turning them into basic words. He held up a finger to Cas, indicating to wait a moment as he went ahead and grabbed a pencil, paper, and clipboard. "For every word you get right, write them down."
"Okay…" Cas examined the words closely as he tried to read them.
