He scrolled down. "It looks like…there is only one position left for waiters…" he narrowed his eyes as he continued scrolling then stopped abruptly. "But, there is also a position open for a bus person. All you need to do is…um… serve the guests drinks, pick up dirty plates, organize the tables…all that stuff."
Cas shrugged. "Sounds fine to me, so long as I get to see you."
"Then i'll take it!" Sorin closed the tab. "I'll call the manager either later or tomorrow." He got up and set his laptop on the coffee table.
"Sounds good to me." Cas grinned and hugged Sorin tightly. "What're we gonna do till then?"
He shrugged, leaning back against the couch. "I don't know… What do you want to do?"
"Well, I'm not allowed to climb any more trees today…" Cas thought for a bit. "We could cuddle, or make cookies, or… I dunno. Something."
"Cookies… I suppose we could but," he held his blistered finger to his face. "I wouldn't want you to burn yourself again."
"I could help with making batter." Cas suggested. "Batter isn't hot."
"I know that…Just don't touch anything that's hot, no matter how curious you are," He stood up and kissed his temple. "Now, let's go wash our hands before we get started."
"Fiiine…" Cas whined. Curiosity killed the cat was very much true for him. He washed his hands and stood next to Sorin.
He wiped his hands before gathering all the ingredients and preheated the oven.
Cas cracked a couple eggs into a bowl, seeming quite pleased with himself when he managed to not get any shell in the bowl.
Sorin greased two cookie sheets before placing it on the pans. He then went over to pour in flour into a bowl.
"What happens if I eat raw eggs…?" Cas wondered aloud, slowly moving an entire raw egg towards his mouth.
"No–" Sorin quickly put down the flour, a huge mass of it falling into the floor as he took the egg from his hands. "You don't eat raw eggs. It's bad for you."
"Oh…" Cas looked into the bowl. "It looks good, though."
"Not everything that looks good is necessarily good for you," he smiled and tousled his hair. Sorin handed him the bag of sugar, telling him exactly how much was needed for the batter before mixing the butter into the flour and eggs.
When Sorin turned his back, Cas added a little extra sugar so the cookies would be extra good.
He took a quick glance at Cas. "Perfect, now pour the sugar here," he continued mixing the batter, then left it for a bit to add some baking soda and vanilla extract.
Cas obeyed and started stirring the dough when Sorin stepped away, struggling a bit with the thick mix.
He inched in behind him, holding his hand so he stopped stirring. "Take your time; you don't have struggle with it." Sorin guided his hand to mix the batter.
Cas let Sorin guide him, blushing a bit. Once the dough was stirred adequately, he threw a bunch of chocolate chips into it.
Sorin pulled out two ice cream scoops and handed one to him. "Scoop these and put them over there," he jerked his chin to the pans.
"Okay." Cas scooped up some dough and watched it slowly pour into the pan, mesmerized.
Sorin chuckled and went over to help him put the dough on the pan. "Make sure they aren't so close to each other. We wouldn't want them to mold together."
"What if we made one big cookie?" Cas let more cookie dough fall onto the pan, sticking his tongue out a bit.
He tilted his head slightly and observed the pans. "Hmm… but I want cookies tomorrow…" he shrugged. "Okay, we'll make one big cookie on one pan, and smaller ones on the other one."
Cas grinned, tipping the bowl so the pan would fill with cookie dough.
"Careful so it doesn't tip over," he handed Cas a pair of mittens before putting on his own.
"What're these for?" Cas set down the bowl and put on his mitts.
