Veleda's eyes lit up. "Really?!" She squealed, overly excited. "Thank you!"
Veleda's eyes lit up. "Really?!" She squealed, overly excited. "Thank you!"
Kat smiled at Veleda. ”Sure, why not? I’ve already got a friend who is a Pixie. I think having a Dragon for a roommate sounds pretty cool. Is there anything I need to know? Like allergies or anything?”
She bit her lip. "Keep me away from gold, please."
Kat blinked a few times. ”Ok… I guess I can do that. But I thought Dragons loved gold? I know some stories and legends get things mixed up sometimes.” She gave an apologetic shrug.
"Yeah, but I don't want to be greedy and selfish. I'm not immune to dragon fever." She smiled. "I know it's odd for me to not want gold, but I just don't want to be like that."
Kat tilted her head slightly. ”Dragon Fever? Ok, ok. No gold then. I can help with that.” She nodded. ”Just try not to burn anything down.” She half-joked.
Veleda nodded frantically. "I promise to not burn anything!" She said, raising her hand up when she did.
"So! What are we doing today?" She clasped her hands together again, smiling.
”To be honest, I didn't really have any plans for the night.” Kat stated. ”Just dinner and a home movie, probably.” she shrugged.
"I can help cook!" She said, not knowing how to cook food that would taste good.
Kat raised a brow in mild surprise. ”You know how to? I was thinking about making burgers. That sound good to you?” She did have other options just in case.
Veleda squinted her eyes like she was trying to remember something. "A… burger?" She tilted her head. I thought I knew a lot of human foods! "I never learned about that one." She admitted, seemingly ashamed.
”Hey, that's alright. I can teach you if you’d like to try one.” Kat offered, reassuringly. ”I’ve never actually had a roommate before, so I'm sorry if I'm a little awkward.”
"Really?" Her tail flickered in excitement. "Gosh, you're so nice for a human!"
Kat smiled, shrugging. ”I try to be. I mean, I know I can't make friends with everybody, and there are some I wouldn't want to anyway, but… Aside from the scare earlier, you seem pretty nice too.”
Veleda made a mental note not to scare her again. "Thank you, Katrina!"
She paused before asking, "when will we be making dinner?"
She held out her hand, ”Call me Kat, or Kathy. Either is fine with me. As for dinner, if you want we can start now.”
(uhm, did she hold out her hand like a handshake or just like a 'stop, that's not it'-)
(handshake, sorry.)
(it's ok!)
Veleda inspected Kat's hand. "What are you doing?"
”It’s a handshake.” Kat tried to explain, a bit awkwardly. ”Humans do this when they meet someone or when they make an agreement with each other.”
Veleda brandished her hand, which came with a set of rather sharp looking nails. "Do you just…" She shook Kat's hand. "Like that?"
Kat was caught off guard by the claws, though she really shouldn't have been. ”Yeah, that's pretty much it. Kind of a weird custom, now that I think about it.” She gave a small chuckle.
She nodded in agreement. "But humans are quite odd." She started to make her way to the kitchen. "So what's in a burger anyway?"
Kat chuckled a bit. ”A burger is mostly a cooked piece of meat that we put on a bread bun to eat. You can really put just about anything else on with it, but usually, it also has lettuce, tomato too.” She explained gathering the necessary cooking supplies.
Veleda watched her with anticipation and excitement. She kept on making mental notes whenever Kat said something interesting. "Is it tasty?"
Kat smiled at Veleda, ”I think so. Actually, a lot of people think it's delicious.” she gave a light chuckle. ”Now, what kind of cooking experience have you had before?”
"In your world, I have no experience. We don't exactly have the same foods where I'm from…" She let out an awkward laugh, trying to imagine her kind eating a burger everyday. "Besides, I usually just eat my food whole." She shrugged and glanced down at her claws.
”Ah, that makes sense. You naturally just hunt for your food, don't you?” Kat's eyes flickered to Veleda’s claws, briefly trying to picture what she actually looked like as a full Dragon. ”Well, I said that I would teach you if you’d like.” She smiled.
Veleda flashed her a toothy smile, showing off her only somewhat threatening fangs. "I would love that!" She looked around the kitchen. "What do we do first?"
Kat smiled. ”It’s pretty easy. First, you have to cook these.” She opened a fresh package of patties. ”We’re just gonna use the stove today but they're the best when you cook ’em on the grill.”
