Tyler got no response, so he took a step back and thrust his shoulder into the door. It shifted a little letting more smoke pour out of the room.

She slowly approached the door the sound cane from then she quickly opened and looked inside. But nothing was there, “Huh?” She said confused then she heard a growl behind her. And she swung back around.

Tyler stepped back again and stopped, he couldn't hear the Morse code anymore. He slammed into the door and it shifted again. "Hey, are you okay? Anyone? If you're there please tell me."

Her eyes widened and the color left her face she turned back around and ran away from what she saw.

Tyler jumped back and threw his whole weight at the door. It shifted again and he continued shoving forward. Suddenly he heard a hissing sound start up from the room he was trying to get into. In a panic he leaped away from the door and began running in the opposite direction. Not even a second after he had jumped away, the whole room exploded. Tyler was hit by the shock wave, and knocked to the ground, sliding a little farther from where he went down.

Kat fell backwards when the ground shook from the explosion. She finally got up and ran outside of the building. When she made it out half of the building collapsed. “Tyler!” She cried out.

Tyler waited until the shaking had stopped, before he even moved again. His arms had been covering his head, and he'd practically rolled into a ball. Now he was slowly pushing himself to his feet. He looked around once he got up and he could see the fire now spreading more. He turned and began running back up the stairs he'd come down. The building was shaking and threatening to collapse the rest of the way.

Kat wanted to go in and look for Tyler but she was afraid it might be too late and to dangerous. She looked around and saw many other buildings collapse. “What is happening!” She said.

Tyler raced up the stairs as more debris started falling around him. He got to the ground floor and began racing through it towards the exit. A huge piece of ceiling fell in front of him and he barely missed getting hit by it. A rock fell from the ceiling and hit him in the shoulder causing him to stumble again. Without stopping though he raced out of the building holding his arm to his body.

He saw someone run out of the building and as the person got closer she realized who it was. “Tyler!” She smiled, “A-Are you ok!?”

Tyler slowed down as he spotted Kat, then he looked back. The building was coming down and they were to close. "Move!" he started sprinting again, using his good arm to grab Kat as he ran. The building started sinking into the ground and falling apart even more than it had before.

Kat didn’t realize the building was collapsing. Then Tyler threw her over his shoulder. “Mom…” she cried as she saw the building fall completely.

The building went down and caused everything to shake again, Tyler fell and covered Kat as a cloud of dust a debris covered them.

When it cleared they both stood up. “I don’t understand what is happening.” She said trying to get it all the make sense.

Tyler held his arm and a small trickle of blood dripped off his fingers. He was looking around as well. "I don't know Kat. I don't know." He turned and looked at the rest of the city. There were figures moving through the dust and smoke around them. "I think we should get out of here, I get the feeling that something bad is going to happen."

“But maybe someone else needs help! Are we just going to leave them?” She sighed. “Fine let’s go your probably right.”

Tyler turned his injured side from her, and sighed. "There was someone in there that had been alive. But after the whole thing came down, I don't think anyone survived. I'm so sorry."

“I-It’s fine can we just go.” She said kind of quiet. “Thanks for saving me… Again, you know one of these times I’m going to save you.” She smiled

Tyler smiled, and started walking with Kat away from the building. "I don't doubt that. Where's your car, we can use that to get to a safe house."

“Over here.” She said jogging to the car. “Uh I must have dropped my keys somewhere.” She said getting on the floor searching under the car.

Tyler followed, turning at one point studying the shapes that were moving through the smoke and dust. "Hey Kat, out of curiosity what did your mom do? I saw a lab down in the basement and there was lots of equipment."

“Um I’m not sure she would never tell me.” She said, “I just know she works- worked there..” Kat finally found the key. “Aha! Found them.” When she got up she saw what Tyler saw. “Uhhhhhh what is that..?”

Tyler moved back to that he was right next to Kat. "I don't know but I think it has something to do with that lab. Come on we need to get out of here."

“Yea your probably right.” When they were away from whatever that was. It was silent between them, “I don’t really know what to do? Do we do like a whole survival thing and gather some materials?” She laughed.

Tyler laughed. "I've done the whole survival shtick, no thanks." He'd pulled his sleeve up and was examining the wound on his arm. "Stupid rock," he mumbled.

"Woah, are you ok that's pretty bad." She said examining his wound, "I could look at it for you I'm a medical student."

Tyler reached over and turned the car wheel, steering them back onto the road. "Keep your eyes on the road for the moment. We can worry about this when we get to my place. Take a right on the next street."

She rolled her eyes and took a right, she looked over at him, "Hey-" She was cut off when she ran into something. The car spun until it fell into the ditch and Kat blacked out.
