Sorin lightly kissed his earlobe, heat rising to his cheeks.
Sorin lightly kissed his earlobe, heat rising to his cheeks.
"Sorin…" He whimpered, not liking the irony taste in his mouth. He glanced down at his bleeding wrist. Well, shit.
"Hmm?" Sorin back away and gazed at the blood on his lips. "Cas, how did you–" he held his hand and looked down at his wrist.
"I wanted to keep quiet… I-I didn't mean to bite down that hard…" Cas's blush lingered as he looked up at Sorin, feeling guilty.
"Oh no, it's okay Cas," Sorin stood up and went upstairs to grab the first-aid kit. "Now," he jogged down the stairs. "let's get you patched up." He knelt in front of him and cleaned his wound gently.
Cas winced a bit as he watched, licking the blood off his lips when Sorin wasn't watching. He shivered a bit, not enjoying the taste. It was different than that of steak or pork.
"I know it hurts," he patted his wound with a clean cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol. "but trust me, this is way better than an infection."
Cas nodded, flinching when the rubbing alcohol was pressed against the fresh wounds. He meowed quietly, trying his best not to pull away.
Sorin rubbed a bit of antibiotic cream onto it before wrapping it in gauze.
"Thanks…" Cas murmured when Sorin had finished, looking away. "Sorry for being stupid…"
Sorin put his thumb under his chin and turned his head to face him. "No need to apologize. You weren't being stupid at all."
Cas turned his ears back. "I'm sorry anyways…" He replied quietly. "I love you…"
Sorin smiled broadly. "I love you too."
Cas purred and a soft smile slowly crept onto his face. There was still some tear streaks visible from the fight earlier, but he seemed fine now.
"Now lets pack our things," Sorin stood up and brushed off his pants. "We need to leave as soon as possible. And I need to contact Kyoko to make her portal available to us." Because flying in his condition could have fatal consequences for him and for Cas.
"Oh… right. Leaving the country. Do you have a bag or something I could borrow?" Cas got up as well, looking up at Sorin.
He nodded and held his hand as they walked up the stairs.
Once Cas was given a bag, he packed his clothes and the cat toys in it. "Well, that's all I own, so I'm good to go. How do we know she's not watching the house?"
"Berenice can't leave the Dominion for a certain amount of time. She's bound there down to the deepest tree root."
Cas nodded. "Alright. How are we getting there?"
Sorin stuffed a few things into his bag and reached under his bed to grab the Enchiridion. He held each side with both hands and waved it around. "With this." He set it on the ground and opened it, the pages–made up of human skin with words written in blood– whispering at his presence.
Cas shivered at the sight of it, unnerved. "Are you… summoning someone?"
"I'm trying to get a hold of Kyoko," he flipped the pages; the leathery feel of it was something he was use to. He stopped and placed his palm on the page. "Ah, there it is. Sweetie, would you mind handing me something sharp?"
Cas hesitated before grabbing a small, sharp knife from the kitchen and giving it to Sorin.
"Thank you," Sorin cut a cross into his palms and pressed it against the book. It was an old trick her friend Nimue use to teach him– communicating through this book. He lifted his hand away from the book and wrote 'May I come over?' in his own blood.
Cas covered his mouth with one of his hands and looked away, shuddering when Sorin cut his hand. The sight of the blood made him tremble as well.
He watched the words fade into the book. "Well, I guess we have to wait 'till she answer–" Sorin looked down.
'What's the password?'
Cas whimpered quietly and watched the words appear. He honestly felt a bit woozy, but he didn't think he'd pass out or throw up or anything.
Sorin rolled his eyes and groaned at her response. He wrote in his blood once more.
'Please'.
Cas sat down on the floor when stars came into his vision, watching the book fearfully.
