"Valderian, sir, but he usually just goes by V." Nathaniel turned his eyes back to the man.

His eyes glowed beneath his glasses at hearing the name. Casting his gaze down so Nathaniel couldn't see the glow, he write down the name "and his relation to you? Roommate, friend, family, partner, husband?"

"Er… partner, sir." Nathaniel replied, blushing a bit. "But I suppose he's also my roommate."

He nodded, jaw twinging a bit. "I'll put both." After writing down a few more notes, he leaned back in his chair and looked Nathaniel over "you're not from here, are you?"

Nathaniel shook his head. "No sir, I'm not."

He arched an eyebrow "good to know demons weren't the onlyones sent here for doing nothing wrong."

Nathaniel froze. "W-What was that, sir…?" He asked nervously.

"you heard me angel. I see how you shift uncomfortably because of your wings." He said, crossing his legs and pulling off his glasses, his dark crimson eyes flashing

Nathaniel went pale, trembling slightly. "You… y-you must be mistaken, sir…" He argued weakly.

"I'm not. I know an angel when I see one." He chuckled softly and folded his hands in his lap "what's wrong? Scared of a demon? You had no problem fighting the other one."

"How do you know about that?" Nathaniel's eyes flicked to the door nervously.

"I'm a demon. Word gets around quickly in hell. Plus I've been up here for a while now observing the both of you." He stood and walked around the desk

"The… the both of us?" Nathaniel stood up as well, stepping away.

He smirk and leaned against the desk "mhm, he doesn't let you out of his sight much. Ah well, that was always V's ways. Protecting those even when they didn't ask for it."

"You know who I am?" Nathaniel stepped back again, his heart racing.

He nodded "yep. V told me all about his companion with the broken wings. Spent all his waking hours at your room then came back to sleep in his."

Nathaniel went paler, bumping into the wall when he stepped back again. "Did… did you watch us then too?"

He shook his head "no, I was to stay put and wait for V in his room. I would risk getting him kicked out because of me. Though I see that's already happened."

"It's… if you're thinking it's my fault, I swear it isn't." Nathaniel looked at the door again.

He shook his head "no. It's not your fault. It's mine. Which brings me back to why I'm here in the first place."

"Why are you here, then?" Nathaniel asked tentatively.

He tilted his head to the side "you really haven't figured it out yet, have you. Let me give you a hint. I lost someone. Now I intend to get them back."

"You can't have him." Nathaniel said sharply, turning his eyes back up to the demon.

"oh but I can." He glanced at Nathaniel with Nick sympathy "though that is understandable that your possessive of him seeing that he's the only one here or in the Heavens that actually cared and maybe truelt loves you. But think about it from his perspective. You're the only angel he's ever connected with. Your the only other angel down here that he knows so it's understandable if you feel a connection. But you're inexperienced with love. You don't know what you feel. He does, and so do I. He'd be much happier with me. With his equal in every way."

"N-No! You're wrong!" Nathaniel was starting to get angry now. "He does love me!" He looked over at the door. "V! Help!"

"he can't here you. Demon wards on the doors prevent whatever is said in here to be heard out there." He smirked "now time for my favorite part. Negotiating."

Nathaniel cowered in the corner, feeling like a trapped animal. "No… you… y-you can't have him…"

"Don't worry. I'm not ging to hurt you. In fact, I might make your life a bit better. But I'm going to need something in return." He waved a hand towards nathaniel, coaxing his wings out "I can give you your wings back. I can give you your flight back. all you have to do is hand over V. I'll take your memories of him and replace them with memories of flight, the wind beneath your feathers, freedom. What you've wanted ever since you got here. To feel powerful and unbinded."

"No!" Nathaniel pulled his wing away from the demon, shivering at the touch. "I'd never trade V for something as stupid as my wings. Sure, flying's nice, but humans have survived this long without it. I love V. If you truly loved him, then you'd understand how ridiculous of an offer that is." He crossed his arms, looking up at the taller man with his face set.

"I do love him, I've spent my entire life trying to find him after I was sent to hell! I've spent every hour trying to find my way back to my angeland savior. Now that i've come so close I will not let another take him from me." He growled, getting close to Nathaniel "you will hand him over sooner or later."
