Jas hugged her behind and kissed her head "we need to talk when we get home." he muttered softly "Something came up." He glanced up as the kis starting to sind "There was a time when men were kind When their voices were soft And their words inviting."
She nodded silently and shook out her arms before starting to sing as well, “There was a time when love was blind, and the world was a song, and the song was exciting, there was a time.”
He sighed softly and pulled away so he could conduct the kids. "Then it all went wrong….I dreamed a dream in times gone by When hope was high and life worth living
“I dreamed, that love would never die, I dreamed that God would be forgiving.” Scarlett looked around at the kids and then at Jasper as she sang, shifting around on her feet.
Jasper concentrated on giving the kids cues and when to raise and lower their voices
"Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted."
She watched the cues Jasper was giving the kids and made notes in her mind to remember them so she could help direct the kids if she needed to. “There was no ransom to be paid, No song unsung, no wine untasted.”
Jasper waved scarlet over and guided her hands to match his, encouraging her to follow. "But the tigers come at night,
With their voices soft as thunder, As they tear your hope apart
“As they tear your hope apart, as they turn your dream to shame,” She continued, copying his gestures as he made them, “He slept a summer by my side, he filled my days with endless wonder.”
He nodded proudly "He took my childhood in his stride! But he was gone when autumn came…" They all sang, ringing the notes out
She let her mind wander as she sang, her voice mingling with the kids and his nicely, “And still I dream he'll come to me, that we will live the years together. But there are dreams that cannot be, and there are storms we cannot weather.”
He smiled softly at her "I had a dream my life would be, So different from this hell I'm living!" They all sang
“So different now from what it seemed,” She continued, her eyes moving to look over at the kids and Jasper, “Now life has killed the dream.”
Jasper nodded as the song ended and smiled, waiting. "Wow, no one cried during that one. Good job." He clapped softly "alright, we have time for Solo's in the back if anyone wants to do that."
“I can take some kids back for solos as well,” She offered with a smile, wanting to get to know the kids more.
Jasper nodded "good idea. alright those of you who want to do Solo's with Sxarlet, stand by her, those of you who want to do Solo's with me, stand by me." Most kids went to scarlet.
"wow….I'm just sad now…"
Scarlett laughed and walked over to him, patting him on the shoulder, “Its Alright, it’s not your fault the kids like me better.” She then walked back to the kids who stood by her and counted them, trying to estimate how long it would take compared to Jasper’s crew.
"alright, while you're figuring that out, I'll head back to start." He grabbed his guitar and headed to the back with one of the kids.
Eventually she just shrugged, not caring about the time and instead caring about getting to know the kids, “Alright, who ever is first follow me.” She motioned for one of them to come with as she headed to the back as well, giving Jasper some room for him to work.
Jasper and the first kid to go up started singing and playing the song "Evermore"
Scarlett let the kid who was with her pick, and soon they were singing “Shape of You” with happy smiles and bright eyes.
Jas smiled softly as he heard the singing in the next room. He focused back on the solo he was doing with child a d nodded, encouraging them on
Every so often she would pause the song and offer tips, though they finished the song quicker than she expected and soon another kid was bounding in with a song already in mind. This time it was “Thrift Shop”.
(that's a great song, so was the other one XD)
Jasper nodded as he let the kid finish the song l. He did the same as Scarlet, offering tips on how to improve while singing that specific song. Once they tried the alterations, the kid left and sent in the next
(XD ya)
Singing with the kids was fun and she started to learn their names, along with their taste in music from the songs they sung. She heard Disney songs, pop, and even some of her favorites from different artists. Too soon she was with the last kid, singing “Me and My Broken Heart”.
(ALL I NEED IS A LITTLE LOVE IN MY LIFE!)
Jasper finished up with his batch of kids and headed over to watch Scarlet and her last kid sing, standing in the doorway and listening to them sing
(YESSSSS)
Scarlett laughed as they sang, dancing in place and earning a giggle from the kid as they continued. Her eyes didn’t even move to the door as she sang most of the backup vocals, letting the kid be the star of the show.
Jasper smiled softly as he saw them dance around, glad that scarlet was letting the kids show their true potential in singing
Too soon the song came to an end and she gave the kid a high five, needing a drink of water. She relaxed against the wall for a moment before looking around and spotting Jasper.
Jasper has been bobbing his head to the song, listening as they sang and then came to end "that was great,"
“Thanks,” She said happily, watching as the kid bounced back to the others before making her way over to him, “How was your solo singing?”
