They picked up Lindsey and Theo at Jasper's house, Lindsey thinking it time saving for her to just walk to Jasper's house than wait at the restaurant. Personally, Jasper would have had loved it to spend a bit more time with Scarlet by just driving about but he wouldn't argue with his cousin
"So are you going to drop me off before you guys get going?" She asked, looking over at Jasper and smiling at Lindsey as her and Theo got in the car. In reality, she would've loved to spend more time with Jassie, but they had a flight to catch, and she had class.
Jasper nodded "yeah. The airport is twenty minutes away from the campus." He said, glancing over at Scarlet and smiling
She smiled and nodded, motinging for him to drive again, "Well then get going, I don't want to be the reason that you guys are late, drop me off and get to the airport."
"Fine, fine, fine, we'll go. someones eager for us to leave." Jasper teased, pulling out of the driveway and back onto the road
"You need some family bonding time, and I refuse to be the reason you miss your flight and have to deal with me for another week," She replied with a growing smile, rolling her eyes.
Lindsey laughed "Please if this wasn't a funeral, Jassie would probably skip work to stay with you. isn't that right?"
Jasper blushed, "maybe not work….often"
Scarlett could feel herself blush and she laughed lightly, "I would not allow him to skip work for me…at least not often. Keeping a job is important."
"yet you skipped school for him." Lindsey laughed "Jassie you owe her now. You need to take a day off and spend time with her."
She shook her head and laughed again, "He'll already have missed enough work with being gone this week, he doesn't have to take a day off."
"yeah but this is a little different." Lindsey said with a smile.
Jasper grinned and shook his head, letting the two talk it out while he drove
"Still missing work," She replied, a slight smile on her face, "I'm not going to let him take more time off to spend with me, we can see each other after work and school, and on the weekends."
Jasper nodded "exactly," he glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Lindsey pout
"Fine, but you two need a vacation, you both work too hard."
Scarlett laughed and shrugged, "Maybe, eventually, after finals probably." She glanced at Lindsey and then up at Jasper, smiling.
Jasper nodded in agreement as they pulled into the parking lot of Scarlets campus
"Well, I guess we're here," She said, pulling her backpack up onto her lap with a sigh. Her eyes flicked to him again and she got ready to get out and say goodbye for the week.
Jasper nodded slightly and got out of the car. He walked over to Scarlet's side and opened the door for her.
A small smile twitched at her lips and she rolled her eyes as she got out, wrapping him in a hug, "You know I can open a door myself dork, right?"
He laughed softly and held her against him, hugging her close to his chest "I know but what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't open the door for my girlfriend." He tilted her head up and kissed her softly "I'll be back in a week, only a few days, I swear." he murmured softly, only for her to hear
"Alright, be safe and don't do anything terribly stupid," She replied just as softly, kissing him again and hugging him as tightly as she could, "Call me or text me if anything goes wrong or you just want to talk." She had no desire to let him out of the hug, but she figured she would have to eventually, though she was going to hug him until he pulled back.
"you should be telling my siblings that, not me," he nuzzled her close and kissed her brow "I'll definitely call and text." He promised, squeezing her tightly before loosening his hold and letting her go "I love you scar."
Scarlett blushed a little at his words but smiled, going up on her toes and kissing him one last time, "I love you jassie, now get going and hurry up so you don't miss your flight." With that she backed a few steps away, waving to the three of them and heading off to class.
He watched her go with a small smile before returning to the car and heading off towards the airport. Jasper, Lindsey and Theo choosing to stay quiet, knowing the worst was yet to come in the next few day.
Her smile stayed on her face as she went over what he had just said in her mind, a small bounce in her step as she went to class.

Jasper made it back to his hotel room around 9 at night after the funeral and the wake. He flopped down on his bed, both emotionally and physically exhausted. He pulled out his phone and started along music while texting Scarlet
"Hey, just got back from the funeral and the wake. Hope you're doing okay at school and at home, let me know if you want to video chat if you're still awake. I love you."
Scarlett was laying on the couch with her books spread out over her, falling asleep as Jasper's message woke her up. With a sigh she rolled over and grabbed her phone, smiling brightly when she recognized the name.
Hey, how was everything? How are you and Lindsey doing? I'm doing fine, just have homework to finish. We can definitely video chat, maybe I'll get something done. I love you too.
"we're okay after the funeral. Exhausted and cried out but okay. I'll call you in a few minutes after I change." Jasper stood and changed into something comfortable before picking his back up and calling Scarlet
"Alright"
She tried to wake herself up a little before he called, smiling when he called her, "Hey, how is it up there?"
