Perfect. So… starter?
Can you? I'm bad at starting Sorry
No problem! I was asking if you wanted to start the rp is all, sorry it was badly formulated
Just starting on a normal morning?
Sure! and it's fine, I understand
It was a bright cold day in April, and the alarm rang for 7.00 am
The shrill sound echoed through the sleeping house. Helen sat up in bed with a gasp, the stack of papers sliding off of her lap and onto the floor. It took a few moments of slow blinking and kicking back the blanket for her to realise there had been an order to the papers now scattered on the floor.
"Dammit," she groaned tiredly, rolling out of her bed and sleepily kneeling on the floor, eyes still have closed. She resisted down on the wood and attempted to gather her work.
"Lilly!" she called out brusquely. "Wake up!"
(sorry it took so long!)
(It's fine)
Lilly groaned when she heard her mother call out her name, shifting around under the covers and getting into a sitting position. She ran a hand through her red hair, looking around her room. "I'm awake!" She called back, getting out of bed and walking into her bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face.
Helen trudged downstairs, having thrown on a blue sweater over her thin pyjamas. She set her manuscript on the counter and pulled out the box of cereal and a bottle of milk. She set the table, already sorting out a plan for the day in her head.
(can i stalk?)
(Sure, welcome to the thread!)
(bump?)
(Sorry about that, I'll respond when I get home)
(No problem)
(Thanks for understanding)
Lilly quickly washed her face and brushed her teeth, hoping she had done all her homework last night. She walked back into her bedroom and put on a simple sweater with black ripped jeans and a beanie. She headed downstairs as she rubbed her eyes, trying to be more awake.
(Of course :)
"Good moooorning," Helen called cheerfully when Lilly's footsteps sounded on the creaky stairs. She greeted her daughter with a tight one-armed hug, pushing energy into her movements. "How did you sleep, sweetie?" she asked brightly, setting a bowl of cereal in front of Lilly's spot at the table.
"Good, you?" Lilly asked, leaning into Helen when she was hugged. She sat down in her spot at the table and started eating her cereal, wondering what time it was.
"I…" She started, bustling around the kitchen with one armful of papers and the other a bottle of juice which she set on the table as she sat down, "Slept well."
She poured Lilly and then herself a glass. "Big day today?"
"Yea, ISP is today," Lilly mumbled, taking a sip from her glass. She wasn't sure if she could teach a whole class about a topic and keep them interested.
Helen sighed exaggeratedly, taking a bite of breakfast. "Those poor classmates of yours. Bored to death yet again," she said with a shake of her head. No, wait, too far, she scolded herself internally.
She grinned at Lilly, patting her hand. "I'm kidding. Do you want to go through it again?"
Lilly chuckled and nodded. "No I'm good, I have the whole thing memorized. I'm just a bit nervous, that's all."
Helen nodded. "I get really nervous as well," she admitted. A small smile lit up her face. "You know, once, I was presenting a manuscript to my boss, right. This was back when I had braces and elastics. So at one point, he made me laugh, and my elastic flew out of my mouth and landed right on his sleeve!" she remembered, blushing deeply. "God, that was bad."
Lilly couldn't help but laugh. "I can imagine, that must have been really bad."
Helen nodded cheerfully. "Alright!" she finished. "Let's get going soon, shall we?" she gently rushed her daughter. "I need to pick up some things."
She stood from the table, clearing off her half-finished breakfast.
Lilly nodded, also clearing off her finished breakfast. "Okay then."
"I'll take care of the plates," Helen offered, stacking them in the sink. "Can I walk you today? I'm going the same way," she asked after a moment's hesitation.
