He nodded "yep, we'll be leaving in the middle of the day tomorrow. We were going to leave in the morning but we thought we'd let you sleep in a bit."

"Alright," She said, yawning again and leaning against him more, "Let's get going to the hotel then."

He smiled softly "You'll never make it back awake." He scooped her up in his arms, heading down the path they had come from

She squeaked and hooked her arms around his neck and shoulders, smiling slightly, "I can walk there, you don't have to carry me if you don't want to."

"where's the fun in that, hm?" He shook his head "plus, this is more romantic." He purred, kissing her temple

"I suppose it is," She replied, snuggling closer to him and laying her head on his shoulder, "You just have to make sure I don't fall asleep before we get back to the hotel now."

"I won't don't worry." He promised, holding her close. He made his way to the town, now empty as the festivities faded out.

She hummed in response, her eyes already half closed as she looked around the much emptier town.

He nudged her cheek "stay awake a little longer my dear. We're almost there." he muttered softly

“Alright,” She mumbled, forcing herself to open her eyes a little more so she would stay awake.

He smiled softly and opened the door to the hotel building with a small nod of his head. He made his way up the stairs to their floor and opened their hotel room door the same way, locking it behind him as he entered. He set Avalin down in the bed, throwing covers over her.

She smiled lightly when they reached the room, snuggling into the bed for a moment before sighing and pushing the covers away. "I have to change quick," She said sleepily.

He nodded "bathrooms yours." He kissed her temple before retreating around the corner to change into pijamas. He back out with only pj pants and settled in bed comfortably, looking out the window at the night

She nodded and headed to the bathroom, changing into a too big but very soft t shirt and a pair of soft shorts before heading out of he bathroom and flopping back on the bed.

He glanced at her and turned over, stroking her hair softly "Tired love?" he asked softly, leaning down and nuzzling into her hair, pulling her close to him

"A little," She murmured, her eyes already closed as she settled in next to him.

He kissed her cheek and smiled "did you like the surprise?" He asked, throwing the covers over them

She smiled and nodded, "It was amazing, I loved it." She opened her eyes slightly and looked at him, giving him a soft kiss.

He kissed her back, tugging her even closer to him "you took plenty of pictures?"he asked, knowing well of the answer

"Yes, I probably took too many pictures," She replied, laughing lightly and scooting as close to him as she could.

He nodded and kissed her brow "Come now love. Sleep. I don't want to deal with an angry queen at 7 in the morning…again."

A smile appeared on her face and she let her eyes close, happy to be able to get some sleep, "If you don't want to deal with a grumpy me, don't wake me up that early."

"If you don't want to be woken up so early, don't go to bed so late. Maybe then I'll reconsider poking you awake a few hours later." He retorted lightly, kissing her brow one more time before settling comfortably with her in his arms

She poked his side lightly and hummed in response, already drifting off to sleep. "Love you," She murmured before falling asleep completely.

He laughed softly and stroked her hair "and I love you my queen. More than anything in this and any life." He nuzzled into her hair and soon fell asleep

She slept soundly all night and the next morning she was still fast asleep, her arms wrapped around one of his.

Loki woke in the early morning and glanced at his wife who slept next to him. He smiled softly, watching as her chest rose and fell, her face peaceful and calm. He stroked her cheek gently, debating whether to wake her or to let her sleep. He decided on the latter and kissed her brow.

She let out a soft breath and snuggled closer to him and under the warm blankets, still sound asleep.

He wrapped his arm around her and stroked her hair. He fell asleep again,

A few more hours passed before Avalin started to stirr, shifting around in his arms before rolling onto her other side.
