(Hello Puff!)
(Hello Puff!)
(Puuuuuuff)
"Three's not that big a litter. At the monthly clan meeting thing, I met a cat from ShadowClan who had five kits and another litter on the way."
"Wow, how is she still sane?" Finchkit laughed. "I'm just kidding, I'm sure she's very happy."
"Yeah, I would think so too. But what have you been up to?"
"Well, I've been spending a lot of time at the medicine den so I can learn as much as I can before I officially become an apprentice. Dustpaw and Goldenpaw became apprentices before me, and they kept telling me that I'd probably never become an apprentice, but I'm proving them wrong! I'm super excited, but also really anxious. I just want to do my best for Riverclan."
"Yeah, becoming an apprentice is awesome! You'll love it." Oakpaw said, reminiscing her days under Shadytooth (made up)
"I hope so. I already know the basics, and I've treated small wounds before, so I think I'll do okay."
(Hello?)
(Hi)
(Hi :D)
"That's good. Knowing how to heal is essential."
"Yeah, I've treated scratches and stuff on my siblings when Silverbrook was out. Just simple things come in handy, and some things can just be found in the camp, so it's convenient enough."
"Well, that's good."
Finchkit nodded, stretching a bit. She shredded some grass with her claws anxiously, hardly able to wait until she could go to the moonpool and leave camp for the first time.
"So, excited for moonpool? I've never actually seen it, but medicine cats and also the clan leader can."
"Very. I've heard it's really pretty and mysterious, but most accounts probably aren't completely accurate. Do you think we'll see any other medicine cats there?"
"Well, you'll be, I'm not a medicine cat. And yes, since there's only one moonpool, you'll meet the others."
"Maybe we can share herbs with them! That would be fun, forming bonds with other clans, keeping everything calm and friendly."
"Yeah, most medicine cats become friends but not the clans themselves. It's sad."
"Do medicine cats stay friends even through clan wars?"
"Probably, but you cannot avoid wars when they start."
"That's sad… I wish there were a better way to work out conflicts than fighting."
"Me too. Never wanted to do fighting, I actually wanted to be a medicine cat. But this was my calling."
"Yes, you'll be a wonderful mother, Oakfur. I just feel like the medicine cat route is best for me. There's plenty of capable she-cats in the clan who could and probably will be wonderful mothers, but I don't feel the need to. The whole clan would be like my kits. I care for them, take care of their wounds, and love each one. I hope Goldenpaw has kits someday so they could come visit me, hopefully not to be healed though. I don't want anyone to get hurt, but I'm ready to help if they do."
"Yeah, when I was a kit, I was always the mom cat. Sometimes I would go overboard."
"Yes, were you the oldest? Goldenpaw can get pretty bossy sometimes, and Dustpaw always makes me get things for him… I'm pretty much the servant, never the one making the calls. But that'll change when I'm an apprentice! I won't be lesser than them anymore."
"Well, the middle kit, but I was always helping out."
"That makes sense. I'm the youngest, but I always just want to help. Although I have been sort of a doormat…"
"Yeah…"
