Hinata froze.
"A demon, you say? Kinda like a kitsune?"

Cinthia tilted her head at Gavrin. "Umm, what?" She ruffled Moko's ears, and he cooed in response, rubbing up against her curls affectionately. "He's not the demon to fear."
She looked at Hinata. "I dunno. Where I'm from, kitsune aren't exactly considered to be demons. Quite the contrary, actually. I have a friend who's a kitsune."

Milly watched the adorable creature, her eyes filled with stars, “Oh my stars, my bright colorful stars! How precious! Why he’s almost as big as me!”

"Me too. Well, he's a robot kitsune." A muffled shout came from the case.

Moko chirruped and climbed over Cinthia's head, making his master look done with life as he did so, then turned his attention to the case. As a spying familiar–his name actually meaning 'spy' in Cinthia's native tongue–he was always inquisitive and paid attention to the littlest things.

“Back home, General Lorrehlyl has been bound to a demon. She has become a murdurer and a psychopath. My kingdom does everything they can to stop demons from manifesting in the physical world, and you carry one around on your shoulder.”

Hinata held a finger to her lips. She wasn't ready for them to come out yet.

Cinthia couldn't help but smile slightly at Gavrin's response. "All three of my familiars are demons. Malaki is a Drake, Moko's an Orza, and Hazsudo is a Gryph. Drakes and Orzas are types of shadow demons, and Gryphs are basically permanent baby Griffins." She twirled a thoughtful finger in the air. "I'm also allied with three demon kingdoms."

Another yell came from the case.

"I think you should get that."

"…Yeah, I think so too." Hinata set the case down and cracked the top open.
"What in the dear good Lord's name is going on in here?!"
"He pulling my tail!" A small voice shouted up.
"CK, stop touching Rose's tail!"
"But Hinata!!"
"No buts!"
A murmur came out of the case.
"I can't hear you!"
"YES HINATA!" CK yelled.
"Better be!" Hinata closed the case.

Cinthia smothered her laugh. "Sounds just like me trying to control my group–except I have fifteen children to contain. More than a few of them just enjoy pushing my buttons."

Gavrin stared at her in horror, shifting into a falcon and darting up into a tree to perch on a very high branch, out of sight.

Milly barely knew what was happening and just quietly listened to their talk.

"Oh, yea? Try sixteen robots, one emotionally scarred teen who has his sister's soul in his head, your adoptive daughter who is also your youngest cousin, a couple of living dolls, and a younger twin sister."

She tilted her head up, watching Gavrin with curiosity. "Well then. Should I tell him that if you give Arachne some chicken, she'll love you for life?" she asked rhetorically, referring to the bloodthirsty demon queen of the spider-like demons.

"Goodness."

Milly opened her mouth to say something but immediately closed it, still confused, her stomach growled annoyingly and she began to look around for something to eat.

Hinata reached into her back pocket and took out a plastic container. Opening it, she pulled out a small table, covered in delicacies. Setting it down, she made it grow to full size.
"Anyone hungry?"

“What is it?” Milly pondered, looking at it

"Oh, yea? Try sixteen robots, one emotionally scarred teen who has his sister's soul in his head, your adoptive daughter who is also your youngest cousin, a couple of living dolls, and a younger twin sister."

“How about a pack of over two dozen single males constantly trying to mate with you because your genes are now a survival advantage?” Tiak sighed angrily.

"Oof. Dude, try on an entire pocket dimension of over one thousand people."

"I have a younger twin brother, a childish and thieving older brother, a jealous older sister, a half decent older brother, a dead assassin, an emotionally and physically scarred ex-foster-care child/street rat/occasionally suicidal best friend who likes explosions way too much, a kitsune, a clueless prince, a spy that's the son of Death and is pretty chill, a really short jeweler that refuses to back down from a fight, a phoenix–need I say more?–an ice cream dispenser and milkshake provider, a flashlight that is a busybody, an ex-goody-two-shoes that was corrupted by said busybody, and a twenty-thousand-year-old water nymph that likes to play video games." She sighed, just thinking about the chaos awaiting her back home giving her a headache.

"Now, I'm gonna eat. And if anyone wants to join, go on ahead." Hinata put the case on the chair next to her and started to chow down.

Tiak just stared at Cinthia, stunned.
“That’s a long and chaotic list. I feel kind of better about my situation now.”
