Her face lit up for a moment before she frowned and shook her head, "That sounds amazing, but I don't have nearly enough saved up."

"well maybe when you do, I'll take to my friend." He said, opening the door to the shop for her.

She walked into the shop with a smile and nodded, "I'll take you up on that offer," She said, looking around the shop with a smile, "You were right, I've never been here and I do like it here."

He nodded with a smile and turned to the kid at the counter, around 16 years old "hey Conner,"
"Jasper? My God is that a girl with you? Or did she just come in here after you?" Conner clasped hands with Jasper and turned to Scarlet
"He's the best guy around here, I suggest you keep a grip on him, else some other chick is gonna take him."
Jasper laughed in slight embarrassment "thanks Conner,"

She laughed and nodded, "I'll do that," Scarlett smiled and looked at Conner, she could tell that they would get along just fine, "So, Jasper here told me that this place has some pretty good ice cream, that true?"

He nodded "best in town, and Jas, stop sponsoring this place, I'm not going to pay you for it." Conner laughed and shook his head
"Never, I'm telling everyone I know about this place," Jasper said, walking to the display cases full of Ice cream. "The back door is still open right?"
Conner nodded "always for you, it's open whenever you need it."

Scarlett followed him to the ice cream and smile brighter, wanting to try nearly every flavor. "I can say that I've never seen this many flavors of ice cream in one place.." She said, looking back at Conner.

He nodded "largest selection for miles," he said proudly "We've got your classics all the way the exotic like honeycomb and dark chocolate." He opened the case "I allow up to three free samples, so choose wisely." he advised

"Ooh.." She hummed in thought, looking over the selection and biting her lip in thought, "I've heard of a jalapeno ice cream before," She said with a grin, "Do you guys possibly have that one or something similar?"

"Jasper laughed and shook his head "oh no, here we go again."
Conner nodded a bit confused "yeah, not many people like it though. Mind if it's Jalapeno swirled with chocolate?"

She poked Jasper in the side and chuckled, grinning, "Be quite," She turned to Conner and nodded, "No problem, I'm just curious as to what jalapeno ice cream tastes like."

He laughed "Conner don't do it, or if you do, get the milk ready."
"I've actually never tried it before, not ma y have. Those who have say it's not too bad. Free sample or full cup?" He asked holding up a mini spoon and a cup

Her grim widened, "I'll take the sample right now, though I may just get the cup if it's good enough." She glanced at Jasper and rolled her eyes, still grinning, "Shut up, I'm not a baby when it comes to spicy stuff like you are."

He raised his hands in defense "hey, I already told you, I'm not into spicy food."
Conner smiled and scooped out a sample of the ice cream "here ya go, Jassie, you want to try?"
Jasper shook his head "nope, made that mistake before. I'm fine."

"Thank you," She said, taking the sample and trying it, "That's actually really good," She chuckled and nodded, "I'll have a full cup of that." Scarlett took out her wallet and pulled out money to pay, looking up at Jasper, "What are you getting Jassie? I can pay."

Conner shook his head "it's on me, don't worry about it. Plus Jasper paid for it beforehand" He scooped out a cup of ice cream and handed it to her
"I'll take dark chocolate and almond, thanks"

She put the money away slowly and took the ice cream, smiling before turning to Jasper, "Do you just pay for everything beforehand? I'm determined to pay for at least a meal or something for the both of us,"

He shrugged "I like to think ahead," he thanked Conner again for the ice cream, taking his own cup and heading out the back door that was mention before, lacing his hand with Scarlet's

She smiled and squeezed his hand lightly, silently thanking him for the ice cream. "I'll have to remember this place, and try more of their samples," she said as they walked out the back door.

He nodded "they're all really good." He turned a corner, coming up on a railing overlooking a waterfall and forest landscape. He placed the cup of ice cream down and jumped over the fence. "Coming over to the dark side?"

She laughed and set the cup of ice cream down, following him over the fence, "Of course," She looked around at their surroundings and smiled brightly, grabbing her ice cream again, "It's beautiful here."

He grabbed his own and picked his way carefully around the forest, coming at a stop near a pool and some rocks. "This is my favorite place to go after work," he said gesturing around to the peaceful landscape. "It's not much, but its something." he made his way down carefully onto a larger, flat rock near the water and sat down

She nodded and followed him with a smile, starting on her ice cream as they walked, "I've never seen this place, I can see why you'd come here though. It's amazing." She said down on the rock a little ways away from him and just looked at the water, itching to act like a little kid and jump in.

He smiled as he watched her and took a bite of his ice cream "Conner…" He growled and shoved the ice cream away "little punk" he shook his head and glanced down at the water, stirring it with his hand to creat ripples

"What'd he do?" She asked, looking over at him and his ice cream as she continued eating hers. The water was still quite tempting and she started to kick her shoes off, wanting to dip her feet in the water.

"He gave me the flavor you chose." he slid the cup to her "here, I don't think I'll be able to eat that." he turned towards the water and stared across the pool, a faraway look in his eyes

She chuckled, "You don't like it?" Her ice cream was already almost gone and she took his, making sure he didn't want any more of it before starting on his, looking at the water and smiling.

He shook his head "It'll be too soon the next time I eat a pepper." he said "especially a jalapeno." he laughed and took off his shoes, kicking the water and letting the coolness wash over him

"I still don't understand how you don't like spicy foods." She said, laughing from the water spray and slipping her shoes off. She set them to the side and dipped her feet in the water, kicking them lightly.

He shrugged "I can't get over the smell, it makes me want to gag." he shook his body in disgust "I want to like spicy food, I just can't stomach it." he confessed
