He gladly walked through, immediately tripping on a turnt-over trash-can and falling on his shoulder.

Tess kicked her bare legs from where she was swallowed up by the comforter in the closet. "I heard a body hit the floor. Did one of my skeletons fall?"

"No," he said, rolling onto his back. "Only me."

"Oh. How disappointing," she joked, then wheeled her legs in the air. "If you wouldn't mind, I'm kinda stuck in here."

He got to his feet, walking over to the closet and laughing. "How does that happen?"

"I fell, you fucktard, and the comforter wanted a piece of this." Her laugh was muffled by the comforter as she gestured to herself.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her from the trap the comforter had set with a smile on his face.

She stumbled, suddenly on her feet and not eaten by a comforter, and crashed into Runner.

He smiled down at her, blushing slightly. "Happy to see you too."

She blinked in momentary confusion, then grinned up at him. "Of course you are. Who wouldn't be?"

"Your roommate." His smile widened, showing the empty gap where a tooth should've been.

"Nah, we don't got those for this exact reason." She frowned at his teeth. "What the hell happened?"

Back behind the portal, Junia closed it with a smile. "Let them have their fun." She opened it to the Isic empire, right in front of her little shop. When she stepped through, the prince stood there with a smile on his face and pulled her in a hug. "Told you it'd be fine," he teased her. She punched him.

"May or may not have gotten into a few fights."

She scowled at him. "That's my thing! How dare you steal my thing!"

"I was going through typical teenage demon prince moodswings."

She narrowed her eyes. "MmHm." She stepped away and continued her 'cleaning.' "There's a cafe 'round here if you're hungry. That's the only place I'm allowed to go."

He shrugged. "I'm guessing the others have been notified of my return?"

"Let's hope not." She faced him and twirled her finger in a 'turn around' motion.

He turned around.

She started changing, careful to not step in his peripheral vision. "Cinthia ordered us to leave you alone–to sort everything out on your own–after she sent Kiriti to talk to you. Junia went against that order to find you–for some reason. I'm just straight-up banned from going anywhere but that cafe."

"And you react by tearing down the city block?"

"I don't take being told what to do very well, especially when I'm told I'm not allowed to do something I want to do." She paused. "I guess… I just wanted to help, y'know? I was emotional, and I needed to take it out on something. Cin and the others are busy with school and work… and I'm just… stuck here."

He shook his head. "It's my fault, in all reality. I put too much blame on you giys. To be honest, I was terrified to see you."

She turned around to face him, even though he couldn't see her. "Oh? And why's that?"

"'Cause. I thought you'd beat my ass. Or your boyfriend might've."

She actually choked. "Boyfriend!?" She shrieked.

"Rhydar, right?"

She quickly threw on a decent shirt and ripped jeans and spun Runner around. "That dickhead is not my boyfriend, no matter how much he tries to flirt with me."

"You were flirting back, don't lie."

She crossed her arms. "He can't beat me at my own game. I flirted with lots of people to get some cash. I'm a master at the art, and he can only dream of surpassing me."
