oof I don't think I'll be on in five hours though I could try to stay up and see but I think that some people still haven't submitted their characters? Maybe they could join in later like you said

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, that was the idea. Plus I don’t know if all of them are still interested and it’s probably better to not let this die right away. I could always just post a starter later and whenever everyone has time, they can start to add on. Up to all of you really.

@Desvelarse pets

Name: Vaughn Finley.
Age: 23 years old.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Pansexual, no lean.
Appearance: He has black hair, one side of the hair longer and combed over, the strands reaching to his eyebrow in length, while the other side is a bit shorter. His skin is pale, and his hard eyes are a grey color. He stands at around 6’3, and has a lean, muscular build. He has a tattoo on his left inner forearm, it being the name “Adelina” written in child like handwriting. He also has various scars all over his skin.
Personality: He is a very introverted person. He doesn’t get along well with people he doesn’t know, and he hates loud and social situations. He is quiet when first met, and tends to be very intimidating and dangerous looking. Though when he is getting used to someone and trusts them, he opens up a bit more. He gets a lot more loyal and trusting of that person. He is helpful and kind, seeming very generous and protective of them.
Inventory (including weapons, tools, etc.): A pistol with a few clips, a pocket knife, and other various supplies (he has been in refuge in an abandoned gas station since before it started)
Background (occupation, backstory, etc): Most of it will be revealed throughout, just to make it a bit more interesting. But something important to know is that before the apocalypse, he had been a well known serial killer who would kill men that would harm women and children. While many people were scared of him, others praised him for getting rid of terrible men.
Other (optional): He suffers from mild schizophrenia, and a few weeks after the apocalypse, he ran out of the medication, so he hasn’t been able to treat the mental disease.

@PuffPoff

Could I join? It might take a while to make a character because I'm on my phone.

@Becfromthedead group

Yes, and that's fine! It's getting late here, so it'll probably be tomorrow before we actually start (unless I just post a starter and wait for everyone to respond, but idk).

@PuffPoff

Name: Jaylin (Jay) Dembele, or her white hat hacker alias Amber Rose
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Asexual and biromantic
Appearance: She stands 5'5" with a pear body shape, and she's a little overweight. Her skin is a dark mahogany color. She has a round oval face with full lips and ears that stick out ever-so slightly so that they seem a little off. Her round eyes are a murky green color, and half of her left eye is light brown. She has silky black hair in natural curls that end in the middle of her back.
Personality: (She's a new character so bear with me) She generally likes to keep to herself, but once she meets someone she gets attached. She prefers indoors to outdoors and isn't very smart when it comes to plants, animals, and navigation. She has become extremely attached to her laptop over the passed few years and is rarely seen without it on her person. If she's off her laptop for too long, she gets extremely fidgety.
Inventory (she has an average sized backpack): phone, small travelling first aid kit, laptop and charger, flashdrive, small travelling tool kit in case her laptop breaks
Background: Jaylin became a white hat hacker since she was fifteen, and continued to be one until the plague broke out. She had been living with her brother in an apartment when he got the plague. He caught on to the fact that he was sick early on, and he killed himself before he could hurt Jaylin. She has been trying to survive since, not exactly interested in finding a cure.
Other: She has a pretty thick Boston accent (I won't type like she has one though because the incorrect spelling would bother me)

@PuffPoff

I love apocalypse roleplays and none of mine have been super active so I'm excited as well!

@SaltyLasagna

Name: Amber Lumic
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Biromantic
Appearance: Short, pale skin, curvy with an hourglass shape but hides it under oversized hoodies, her face is perfect and smooth save for the jagged scar that goes from the arch of her right eyebrow to the corner of her jaw and narrowly misses her right eye, gray-green eyes, wavy strawberry blonde hair that falls down to her hips but it's usually unbrushed and held up in a messy ponytail
Personality: Can be blunt or extremely sarcastic depending on her mood, confident, very opinionated, logical and will always try to avoid physical fighting and magic using, doesn't like to talk about her past, calls people out on their bullshit all of the time, can often see right through people's lies (but not always)
Inventory: A silver dagger with an elegant design on the handle, bow and five arrows, small pouch full of medicine (the types of medicine she carries will change as she raids hospitals and pharmacies as often as possible, but she usually has fentanyl, morphine, cannabis, ibuprofen, robitussin, diazepam [valium], and alprazolam [xanax])
Background: Will reveal more later but was abused mentally and physically by her parents, ran away and ended up on the streets when she was 16, met a 14 year old kid who was also living on the streets and they ended up living together and taking care of each other for years until they both got stable jobs
Other: Always keeps her bag of medicine at her side, and will assess people before administering medicine (she won't just give pills out for any reason). When she sleeps, she'll often ask a person she trusts that's awake to watch her bag. Takes inventory of what she has twice a day.

Pollux ran up the broken-down escalator and up to the second floor of the mall. He hadn't expected them to find him so quickly. He had taken a change of clothes so he could get out of his tattered jeans and sweatshirt, and so he could replace his tennis shoes, which had soles that were about to wear through. No sooner had he done that, he had heard slow, shuffling, dragging footsteps approach and found out that he was being pursued by four zombies- at least, that's how many he thought he saw. There had to be more around. So here he was now, running for his life through an abandoned mall. It was just like a horror movie, he thought, but of course, he never thought he would be actually living through this, much less without anyone at his side to weather the apocalypse.

Pollux ducked into a sporting goods store, grabbed a few packs of beef jerky, and trail mix, and shoved them all into his bag. He cast a quick glance behind him. Good. The zombies hadn't caught up. That didn't mean he was out of the woods, though. Pollux slowed his pace a bit, trying to catch his breath, but that was a little more difficult than he had anticipated. He walked towards the back door, which led out onto a parking deck, and he slumped back against the wall, waiting for either his heart rate and breathing to return to normal or the zombies to catch up- whichever came first.

@PuffPoff

Jaylin sat between two stained dumpsters, typing away at her laptop. This dumpster lot had been her home for the past week, and it had proved to be a perfect hiding spot. The rotting stench from the garbage masked her scent well, and the metal fence around the lot held well enough to keep any dangerous animals out. However, Jaylin had been struggling to get any internet and her clothes now smelled like rotten food. She just prayed that it would rain.

You win some, you loose some. She thought, tapping her finger impatiently on her knee while waiting for her laptop to load. Ever since the plague started spreading, Jaylin had been trying to track where the zombies were. A few weeks ago she made contact with someone on the other side of town, and with their information combined with hers she was able to estimate where the zombies were and how they moved. As for any zombies outside of the town, she had no clue where they were.

@Becfromthedead group

Pollux saw movement from one of the clothing racks, and he picked up and ran before he had time to see what it was. He ran out onto the parking deck into the open night air. He frantically searched for an exit, but then decided climbing down one of the supports holding up the deck would be better. He checked the ground below to see if it was safe. Everything looked fine, so he started moving down the concrete column from the second floor to the ground. He landed down on the road, quickly trying to think of what to do next. Pollux skirted the perimeter of the mall to find a safe place to rest, and on one wall, he saw two dumpsters. Maybe they would hide his scent. He proceeded, not noticing Jaylin at all, and he sat down by one of the dumpsters. He was very short of breath by now, but now, he was pretty sure he had time to rest.
"God… they're everywhere…" he muttered to himself.

@PuffPoff

Jaylin saw the boy walk into the lot, breathing heavily. He doesn't seem to be infected. I guess I should try talking to him. The more the merrier, right? She shoved her laptop into her backpack before quietly walking over to him.
"They really are, huh?"

@Becfromthedead group

Pollux jumped back against the wall and muttered a jumble of curses, reaching to his side for his gun before realizing this was just a person, probably uninfected.
"Oh… you're… you're not infected," he muttered, pushing the gun back into its holster.

@PuffPoff

She let out a startled squeak as he jumped, but composed herself after realizing that he wasn't going to attack her.
"Correct. You're not infected either." Jaylin replied, adjusting the straps on her backpack.

@Becfromthedead group

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you," Pollux said, pointing to the mall behind him, "Place is crawling with undead. I was just in there to get a change of clothes and some food, but of course I had company. I was hoping for a place to sleep as well, but that doesn't seem very likely at this point."
He was still panting a bit, but was no more winded than normal after running for his life. Pollux wiped some sweat from his brow and looked up to Jaylin from where he was slumped against the wall.
"I'm Pollux. You are…?"

@PuffPoff

"Depends. Some call me Jaylin, others call me Amber Rose. Take your pick." She responded, suddenly aware of how bad she smelled. Well, I can't go to the mall to get more clothes. Looks like it's smelly clothing for me.

@Becfromthedead group

"Nice to meet you. So what are you doing out here? Do you have any goals? Family members you're looking for? Anything else? With things falling apart like this, it's dangerous for either of us to go alone. It would be great if we could find a common goal, and travel together, even if only for a while," Pollux continued.
He took off his jacket to cool down a bit, and this revealed tattoo sleeves up both of his arms. Pollux reached towards his bag and took a sip from his water bottle.

@PuffPoff

Jaylin leaned against the dumpster behind her. "I'm all for travelling together, and I'm just trying to survive. Should I be doing something else?" She noted the tattoos on his arms, wondering if they meant that he was dangerous.

@Becfromthedead group

"Surviving is fine. I wouldn't say you should be doing anything else. I'm sort of trying to find my mother, but I haven't been able to contact her, so I'd say I'm already pretty sure I know what became of her. However, I'm interested in how we can eradicate this virus more than anything. I want the human race to survive. As much as I want to live, if others can't, there's not much point, is there?" Pollux replied.
He saw Jaylin looking at his tattoos, but disregarded her. Most people were a little taken aback when they saw such a young man covered in ink and piercings.

@PuffPoff

Jaylin nodded at that last sentence, realizing that Pollux made a good point. "Well I'm sure that there's a cure to the virus. Would you happen to know what hospital would carry a vaccine? I might be able to search their database to see what documented vaccines they have." She paused for a second before adding on to her question. "You know, if that's what you want to do."
