Manon stepped forward, grabbing her shoulders. "In for seven, out for eleven, alright? Breathe with me, seven, eleven." She counted in her head, breathing slowly.

She brushed her hands off her. "I'm just cold… I need to get dressed… I think you should too…." Her voice was strained as she pulled fabrics out of her bag to pull over her bikini and shivering body.

Manon shrugged. "I swim in colder water than this for sport." Despite that, she grabbed her own bag, pulling out a pair of denim shorts and a tank top. Not much better, but still a bit more.

Erin looked at her blankly, then shifted her gaze upward to the swirling clouds above. She was still shocked by disbelief but had managed to regain her common sense. "We can get to my house… hopefully…" Erin looked around the forest which seemed to shimmer in the snow. The dark haired girl took a glance back at the lake where her two other friends float adrift, their carcasses clearly cold and lifeless. She turned her head quickly and slipped on some sneakers. "I hope that whatever's going on… is merely a surreal nightmare…" She stated, tears pricking her eyes once more in the cold air.

She took in a shaky breath. "After we get to my house and get some fresh winter clothes maybe we can go into town and see what's going on…" She took a step forward, feeling the snow crunch under her feet. "Come on, please… don't stray from the path…"

@croccin-champagne

Manon nodded, pulling her hair into a braid as she followed Erin. If she had been alone, she would have been crying, but she was used to putting on a brave face for others. So that's what she did.

The wind picked up, rattling the trees eerily. Erin picked up her pace. She reached behind her to grasp Manon's wrist with her frozen pink fingers. A howl erupted from deep in the forest, nothing like she had ever heard before.

"I know…" Her voice shook with fear. "Stay with me, please." She started to run, making sure Manon was able to keep up before bursting into a full sprint.
Their footsteps held an unnatural crunch to them as they sprinted, often stumbling over rocks in the new season change. The wind seemingly screamed, knocking over trees as a large snow storm started to blow over.
Erin ran, her eyes wide with fear, adrenaline pulsing through every fiber of her being, her breaths coming out ragged. "Oh my god…" She mumbled over and over.

(Thank you for replying :D)
Erin ran up the ice-covered steps of her back porch, nearly slipping and threw the door open, the ice cracking with her force of power. She pulled Manon through and deadlocked the door behind them, breathing rapidly with sweat trickling down her forehead. "I think… we're safe…" She panted. "Are you okay?" She asked.

@croccin-champagne

"As okay as one could possibly be." Manon replied, her thumb and middle finger on her right hand tapping quickly, the only sign of nervousness she showed as she leaned back against the door. "You?"

"I'll be okay…" She peered around her to look about the small cottage, only to see no life in sight. "Look, let's go take showers and get warmed up. I'm sure we have some winter clothes that'll fit you." She patted Manon on the shoulder gently in a form of reassurance, still feeling stressed and incredibly freaked out herself.

@croccin-champagne

Despite her insistence that she was fine, the touch soothed some of her fear, and she nodded. "Alright. You go first, while I keep an eye out. Whatever is going on is not normal, so I would not get too relaxed."

"Are you sure?" Erin asked. "I'm the one who knows where my parents stashed all the weapons, plus you're kinda my guest." She replied awkwardly, gesturing with her hands her confusion and stress.

"My parents own five acres of land and my mother went hunting with her uncle. I went hunting last fall, I think I got this." She stated confidently. "Now, go get cleaned up and I'll keep guard, alright?" Erin pleaded.

"Upstairs, doorway on the left. Go through that, there should be something in there that fits you. If not, go to the second doorway on the left. Bathroom is across from the first bedroom." She turned to open the closet behind the staircase, rummaging through it til she found a double barrel and some ammo.

Erin pulled her hair up with a stray hairband, sneering at the muddy texture. She loaded the shotgun and patrolled through the house, looking through the windows wearily. The distant howling had faded away, and the storm had disappeared as if it was never there. The sky remained white and cloudly like the earth it hovered above.

Manon grabbed a simple outfit and made her way to the shower, starting it up. As she waited for the water to heat up, she leaned against the sink, squinting at herself in the mirror. What the hell is going on? And why us of all people?

Erin doubled back to the front door and made sure it was deadlocked as well. She felt slightly panicked that her family was nowhere in sight. After checking every crevice, she made her way upstairs, where all the rooms were also cleared. She headed back down the stairs, where she sat in the middle, able to see both the ground floor and second floor.

Manon checked the water and stripped, climbing in. She had to admit, the warmth was nice, but there seemed to be an irremovable chill in her bones. She found herself humming softly, trying to keep her mind off of everything.

Erin rummaged through her bag, pulling out a wristwatch. The hands were flipping all over the place, going back and forth in weird directions. She smacked it with a confused glare, only for it to continue.
Intrigued, she got up off the stairs and opened a nearby coffee table. She pulled out the tabletop clock, only to discover its hands also spinning around chaotically. She ran to the kitchen, clock and watch in hand. She stared at the digital clock on the stove, the numbers switching crazily. "What…"

@croccin-champagne

Manon turned the water off and stepped back out, drying off as quick as she could and dressing the the jeans and t-shirt she had grabbed. She threw her hair in a quick braid for it to dry in and headed back out to find Erin.

She heard the footsteps. "Hey…" She glanced at her quickly before looking back at the rapidly changing digits on the clock.

@croccin-champagne

She stepped close, looking over her shoulder at the clock with a frown. "Are all of them doing this? It is like an episode of the Twilight Zone, honestly."

Deleted user

"Yeah… I was thinking maybe it had something to do with a strong magnetic pulse of sorts… but if it was… why just the clocks?" She shifted the rifle in her arms. She cleared her throat and looked around. "You good with keeping an eye on everything while i shower?"
