She placed the double barrel on the table. "Do you know how to use it?" She looked back at Manon with a twinge of concern.

"Alright. I'll be down in a couple of minutes. If you hear anything, shout for me." She stated before turning and jogging up the stairs.

The dark haired teen foraged through her room, pulling out winter clothes, boots and placing some coats on her bed. She took the clothes with her into the bathroom where she hastily undressed. She turned on the shower and stepped in, relieved to have the feeling of lake water off her. That… wretched lake… She flinched, remembering their floating bodies. We… never checked to see if they were okay…
She fought back tears as she quickly cleaned herself. She stepped out, dried off and dressed once more in fresh clothes.
She swiftly went down the stairs carrying the coats and boots. "Here." She said bluntly and quickly as she placed the boots and coats behind Manon. "They may be big but they'll work."

(Hey maybe if this roleplay is good enough, maybe we can put it on Wattpad as a story. That'd be cool.)

She turned and grasped the car keys laying on a kitchen counter. "There's one in the car." She shrugged lightly. "You think that would work?"

@croccin-champagne

((Oh, that might be fun!
"We can hope." She tugged on the boots, and grabbed a coat. "Hopefully, we might be able to find out what is happening."

"Maybe the truth would be harder to swallow than fantasy…" Erin muttered. She opened a cabinet where she pulled out a revolver pistol and ammo. "Which one do you want?" She gestured to the guns.

Deleted user

She nodded and handed her the pistol. "It's not loaded." She picked up her rifle and strode to the door in a few steps. Erin cracked the door open and peered outside, nothing within eyesight. The dark haired teen opened the door and stepped out into the icy yard. She jogged to the car, looking behind her to see if Manon was following.
She placed the key into the hole and unlocked the car, using her strength to pull the frozen metal. The door gave way and she took in a deep breath and slid into the cold car. "I hope this works…"

She started the car and pressed the button to turn on the radio. All that played was distorted static, almost painful to the ear. She shut it off quickly, unable to handle the strange noise. "I don't know… just some weird static… It… really hurts."

She looked at the gas level and sucked in a breath. "It says it is full but…" She looked at the thermometer. "By the looks of it, I don't think it'll be able to move…" She slid out of the seat and looked at the wheels. As she had thought, the tires were frozen to the ground unnaturally, obvious gashes lined the thick rubber under the ice. "Normally, ice wouldn't stick to the tires like this… but its pretty obvious that this whole situation is far from normal."

@croccin-champagne

Manon crouched, examining the tires. "It looks as though someone, or something, came along and decided to turn the wheels into a scratching post." She stood back up, looking around at the woods. "I don't think we are supposed to leave."

"Whatever did this… is from there." She glanced at the forest. "The farther we get from it, the safer we are." She sighed and adjusted her gun. "We need to walk to town, we can make the five miles. I'm certain at least something would be there." She felt doubt and fear fill her mind, but she fought the feelings off.

She sighed gently. "What would I do without you?" She started to the house as well, sneaking fearful glances at the large forest that loomed behind it.

"Yeah… I'm glad you're here for me." She took a backpack off the rack and scanned around. "Food, extra clothes, firestarter, a tent maybe?" She shook her head. "We'd probably reach shelter before dark…" She looked at the clock only to be struck by the realization once more.

She shook her head. "I swear I'd be dead if it wasn't for you." She looked around. "We need thermal supplies… A lot…" She sighed, exhaling, feeling exhausted.

@croccin-champagne

"Do you have any flares, too? Even if no one notices them going off, they might distract or scare off any creatures in the woods." Manon suggested, cracking her knuckles.

"Woah, getting Jurrasic park in 'ere now. I probably do… maybe in the attic…" She spaced out slightly.

Deleted user

"Not alone!" She stated. "If that thing comes for us I want us together."

Deleted user

She took it, the warmth of her hand heartening to her, causing her stress to fade away. "All the supplies we're looking for should be in the attic, and it is fairly small…" She trailed off, glancing out the window, paranoid. She turned and started up the stairs with Manon following.
"So uh…." She started as she pulled down the rope that connected with the attic staircase. "How're you holding up with this all?" She questioned, turning to glance at her friend's face momentarily.
