Age 17 is a time of great excitement for everyone in the world of Rykora. You magic users everywhere travel to the nearest summoning circle where they are gifted with a familiar to soul bond with as a partner for the rest of their lives. The great stories tell of powerful lions who’s tears healed the gravest of injures and wolves who’s howls broke the sound barrier, but you? Well… things didn’t turn out so great.
RP as a familiar: a regular animal (preferably something unusual or “lame” like a skunk or a goldfish with an odd or seemingly useless power. For example, a goldfish who can detect and withstand poison.
Or as a young witch or wizard!
(You may rp as both a familiar and a human as long as you ask beforehand!)

Do not control other people’s characters. For example: “I ran up to her and broke her nose.” You may say: “I ran up to her and tried to break her nose.” But moderate to serious injuries are a personal character choice. (Aka if you would have to go to a hospital for it irl, then ask permission or attempt)

No one liners as they tend to make things complicated, confusing, and generally less fun in my opinion. Try to have at least around three sentences.

Plot: We will be starting during the ceremony once we get enough people and familiars. Each human has control over one of these elements: Earth, water, air, fire, light, darkness. But using this magic is physically draining! Classes consist of: History, English, Spellcasting, Potions, Field Practice, familiar bonding and Math.

Appearance: Pretty gray feathers that frame a plump smol body and a yellow-blue bib-like thing around his neck. Bright orange beak that is always open wide as if ready to s c r e a m. Neat little wings and feathers. Good-looking birb.
Power: Has the ability to make people temporarily deaf, and enables his human to never lose their hearing/sharpens their hearing.
Personality: Sassy as a little heck. Not afraid to stand up for himself. A nice friend, tries to bring gifts for people he likes but is so smol, he ends up just bringing a stick or a bottlecap if he's lucky. Likes to be alone sometimes.

Name: Winston Ambrose (Goes by Winnie or Winst)

Personality: Cowardly and shy, Winston is just trying to do his best and become a slightly competent wizard. He’s extremely anxious, but tries to tough it out for his friends and usually turns into the mom friend due to his concern for others. He hates arguing and rarely stands up for himself.
Appearance: ( https://pin.it/mycxx2pcrighzm ) Short, golden blond hair and baby blue eyes. Stands awkwardly tall at around 6’2” and hasn’t quite grown into himself yet. He’s lanky, and his face, arms, and legs are dotted in freckles. He has poor control over his powers and constantly emits a faint golden glow from his skin, making him stand out like a nightlight in the dark.
Background: Winnie grew up with only his moment around after his father died in an accident regarding his flame powers. Winnie has been wary of his own powers ever since and is wary of trusting himself. His mother works two jobs, leaving Winnie alone to care for his two younger siblings, Daniel and Nyla, quite often.
