Rose thought for a moment at the idea. “The park sounds nice,” he said with a small smile.
"Alright, park it is," Noah led the way to the park, dodging passerbys when necessary. It was nice out, so the park had been a perfect idea.
((I have an idea, if you want to hear it.))
(Go on ahead!)
Rose followed quickly after Noah, looking around as he walked. He was relaxing a bit, understanding that Noah wouldn’t try to hurt him or force him into anything.
((Someone could come up to Rose and try to harass him, and Noah can get overprotective?))
(Oh yeah, that could happen on their way to the park)
(Do you want to start, or do you want me to?)
(I can)
As the pair were walking down the street towards the park, they passed a larger man who was standing outside smoking. Once they passed, the man had reached out to harshly smack Rose’s ass, causing him to flinch and give a slight yelp. His eyes were wide as his cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. The man gave a whistle and chuckled.
Noah saw the exchange, and his blood started to boil. How dare he! He pushed Rose behind him and got in the man's face, fists clenched tightly. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" he growled.
“My buisness isn’t with you, it’s with him,” The man said, his gaze shifting to Rose. Rose was partly hiding behind Noah.
"His business is my business," Noah snapped, putting a finger on the other mans chest and pushing him back into the wall. "Now, kindly fuck off before you do something you'll regret." Venom laced his voice, and his eyes had darkened.
“Noah, please, lets just go,” Rose squeaked out softly, hugging himself subconsciously. The man chuckled at that. “Listen to the little fuck toy, man.”
Noah growled, but turned around and acted like he was going to walk away, before doubling back and swinging his fist at the smoker in a nice uppercut. The fading bruises on his knuckles pulsed, and he knew he probably made them worse, but Noah didn’t care. No one deserves to be treated like that.
Rose’s eyes widened as he covered his mouth. “Noah, stop!” He cried. He grabbed Noah by the arm and did his best to pull the other along.
Noah stumbled a bit when Rose pulled him, but began walking with him anyways, glancing back once in a while to see if the man was following them or not. Once Noah was sure that he wasn’t, he turned to Rose. “Sorry,” he mumbled, looking away as soon as he apologized.
“You shouldn’t have bothered him,” Rose mumbled softly. He looked down at his shoes as he walked.
“But he was making you uncomfortable, and calling you inappropriate stuff,” Noah said, kicking a stone on the sidewalk.
“It happens a lot. Provoking them makes it worse. Better to ignore them..” Rose said softly, wrapping his arms around himself slightly as he walked.
Noah stopped and took Rose’s arm gently, preventing him from walking forward. “So you just let them touch you like that?” he asked softly, his eyes searching Rose’s blue ones.
Rose tensed slightly when he was grabbed. “Most of the time they don’t touch me.. I just keep walking and try to ignore them,” he said softly, avoiding Noah’s gaze.
Noah gently frowned on how Rose tense, or how he wouldn’t look at him. Something’s wrong. “What if they follow you?” he said just as softly.
“No one has done that before,” Rose said softly. Yet. What would he do if someone decided to try to follow him?
Noah sighed. “Okay, just try to stay safe. You never know who’s out there.” He knew that from experience; once too young and too dumb.
“I know that,” Rose said softly. His mind flashed to a man with tanned skin and dark eyes, muttering in Rose’s ear as he was groped.
“Just making sure,” Noah said quietly. From Rose’s appearance or how soft he talked, you would figure he was naive, but that certainly wasn’t the case.
“Can we just go to the park now?” Rose asked softly. He dropped his arms back to his thighs as he looked up at Noah.
“Yeah, it’s just up ahead,” Noah said, pointing up the block where it was coming into view.
Rose nodded. He began to walk towards the park, biting at his bottom lip softly.
Noah glanced at Rose, and almost choked. Is he trying to kill me? A blush now burning on his cheeks, he looked onward, trying to find an open bench. The park was surprisingly busy today, which was odd.
Rose saw an empty bench after a minute. “Over there,” he pointed out, beginning to head towards it.
Noah followed Rose to the bench, sitting down. Instantly his hand itched for the cigarette pack in his pocket, but he resisted. Not here, not now.
