Kasey grinned and turned her head to face him. "I think so. It's going to be dark soon, so we should head back before then."
Kasey grinned and turned her head to face him. "I think so. It's going to be dark soon, so we should head back before then."
"Yeah. More stargazing?" By which, of course, he meant kissing on a blanket in the middle of the night, but it was practically the same thing.
"Stargazing sounds nice," Kasey agreed with a smile. She let her mind drift into his thoughts and blushed a little. "But that sounds good, too…"
"We can multitask." Barry's next mischievous grin showed off his teeth. "Come on, let's get back."
Kasey chuckled a bit, shaking her head as she pulled away from him to walk back. She held her hand out for him to take, smiling over at him. "Multitasking is great."
"So are eco-friendly initiatives," he agreed solemnly, before his grin returned full force. Taking her hand, he led her back down the well-trodden path, pressing light kisses to her cheek every now and then.
"Hm, very true," Kasey agreed, leaning into him as they walked. "It's very good for the earth."
"Very good." They arrived back at their tent, hand in hand.
Kasey chewed on her lip for a moment, contemplating something. "So… I would really like to get out of my wet clothes… Would you mind staying out here while I change?"
“Yeah, I’ll stay here,” he assured her, lowering himself carefully onto the ground.
“Thanks, babe. I’ll just be a couple of minutes,” Kasey said, giving his cheek a quick kiss before she crawled inside the tent. She pulled out fresh clothes from her bag, zipped the tent flaps shut, and started to change.
Barry hummed as he waited, admiring the surrounding wildlife. Birds, trees, fresh air.. a welcome sight after the environment of the city.
As she’d said, Kasey was finished and out a couple of minutes later. She sat beside Barry and leaned back on her hands, looking around at the nature surrounding them.
“Maybe we should just move to the middle of the woods. We wouldn’t be bothered by anyone there,” she mused, joking.
Barry chuckled, reaching over to loop an arm around her shoulders. “Hermitage would suit you.”
Kasey crinkled her nose. “It wouldn’t be hermitage… It would be just us, alone, with no fears or worries…”
If that's what you want, then hopefully you'll like what I have planned when we get back… Barry winced as soon as the thought was out, hoping she hadn't heard it. "Well, I guess we'll just have to manage."
“Mmhm. I suppose so,” Kasey hummed, leaning into him. She rested her head in his shoulder, letting a content sigh escape.
Relaxing slightly, Barry angled his body to form a more comfortable cushion for her. "What a nice escape…. This trip was a good idea, love."
Kasey smiled and turned to press a soft, lingering kiss to his cheek. “You helped plan it. It wasn’t all my idea.”
"Still, I think it's safe to say that I owe it to you." He nuzzled into the touch, tugging her closer.
“Well, sure, then. But you’re the one who made it possible,” Kasey said, nuzzling him back before resting her chin on his shoulder.
"Sure," Barry relented, touching his head on top of hers. "Let's go with that."
“I love you,” Kasey murmured softly, a sudden rush of affection flowing through her.
(boop)
(Asdfghjkl I’m sorry)
Barry blinked once, tugged her closer against him, swept a kiss across her brow. “I love you more..”
(It's fine! Don't worry about it.)
"Mm… But I love you most," Kasey declared with a grin at his actions.
(Ahh okay)
He raised an eyebrow, disbelief seeking into his tone. “Are you quoting Tangled?”
Kasey laughed lightly and turned to kiss him, still laughing. "No, babe, I am not. That's funny, though."
Barry tangled his fingers in the hair at the base of her skull, pressing their lips together for much longer than strictly necessary. “You really had me there, I thought you were going to go all Mother Gothel on me,” he murmured teasingly, tugging her carefully onto his lap.
Kaey gasped a little, shocked at the sudden fierceness in the kiss. She managed a soft chuckle at his teasing and lifted a hand to trace his jaw.
"Mm… No. Not this time," she murmured against his lips.
